That would be a downgrade, which can not be done directly (449 < 450). Therefore, you must update to 4.2 or higher with a game disc. First, find any game with 4.2 or higher and insert it into your wii (obviously, you must be certain to use an NTSC-U game). Then use SaveMii/SaveMiiFrii when turning on your wii, and your system menu version will appear in the bottom right corner of the screenby jbc007 - FixMii
1) Launch DOP-Mii from the HBC. 2) Go to the IOS installation section of DOP-Mii. 3) Choose and install a revision of IOS 36 that is not the latest revision.by jbc007 - Getting Started
QuoteJ_ManJust a question - IOS70 is the Sysmenu 4.2's IOS. From what I understand, Sysmenu 4.3 uses IOS80. Surely if you use SaveMii/Frii with Metroid Other M it should in theory work because it's now using a different base IOS for the sysmenu? No, if you have system menu 4.2, the system menu will require IOS 70. The rescue (SaveMii) menu is a feature of the system menu, so it requiby jbc007 - FixMii
Make sure you had an Animal Crossing save on your wii before, or else a new one can't be copied to your wii. If you have already done this, try Savegame Manager MOD.by jbc007 - Homebrew General
QuoteTeenpikajust one problem with that... NUS Downloader won't work for me... just tried and it wouldn't work. if someone can just pm me the file to install, i can easily fix my shop channel. i already have WAD Manager. Could you possibly explain this issue you have with NUS Downloader?by jbc007 - Homebrew General
If you really want out of region channels, you can get them, provided you are willing to go to enough effort (there is a legal way to do it, but it isn't exactly easy). Of course, the first question I should ask is have you purchased anything from the shop channel already? If you haven't, deleting your shop account will not be a big deal. By the way, some of the free channels can bby jbc007 - Offtopic

QuoteMestizoOther than the fact that it could be far more convenient, since you won't have to go through processes like WIiSCU or NUS Downloader to update. This really makes no sense. Bootmii/boot2 cannot prevent an official update from working. It is far more convenient to select update in the wii settings that it is to run the Hackmii Installer, uninstall Bootmii, and then go back to tby jbc007 - Homebrew General
Try downgrading IOS 36. It is easiest to do this with DOP-Mii.by jbc007 - Getting Started
You can make a NAND dump with it. If your wii ever bricks, you can restore said NAND dump with a hardware NAND programmer (this isn't exactly easy). Also, you can run MINI applications from it (there are very few of these).by jbc007 - Getting Started
QuoteMestizoQuotejbc007QuoteMestizoQuoteMagil And I've read oh so many sad tales of many folk crying about how an update killed their Wii. That's because they've done something you SHOULDN'T do when updating (lose power, take out a CD, etc) Or because the Boot2 update bricked their wii. As rare as it is, it does happen. Nintendo will not update your wii without your consent. Although their EULA indicates that they might, the system menu currently does not have the code necessary to do so, and it probably never will.by jbc007 - Homebrew General
The private folder contains all of your wii data. If you don't want to lose this, only delete Bannerbomb. Bannerbomb is in the following directory: SD:\private\wii\title\aktn\content.bin. Delete the aktn folder.by jbc007 - Getting Started
QuoteMagilI would also note that it's better having it as an IOS that not having it at all. The chances of recovering from a brick are alot worse when you just have Priiloader (though I think that there still might be a chance of installing bootmii while only having Priiloader available. Not sure though). Bootmii/IOS will never help you recover from a brick (I can think of only one exceptiby jbc007 - Getting Started
There are some graphics issues with all the Mario Party games. I was unable to get any of them to work in Wii64. Though this was with a previous revision of the emulator, so there may have been some improvements since then. You can try playing with the emulator settings, but you probably will not get it to work properly.by jbc007 - Homebrew Applications
I think that is right. Just try it whenever it is possible. I doubt that it will work, but it's worth a try.by jbc007 - FixMii
Probably, however, it is possible that this is message board data corruption. Try booting into maintenance mode. If it works, you can find a way to delete your message board data. If you can't boot into maintenance mode, the issue is caused by something else and you will need to wait for a game with a higher update. Though it will probably be a long time before a game with the 4.4 updateby jbc007 - FixMii

QuoteAxelNothing in the update is targeted to savegames. The nintendo message most probably wants to scare users to prevent them to use indiana pwns, which as you know, is based on a modified savegame. If they were to target modified savegames, they would go after indiana pwns first. 4.3 still blocks the Twilight Hack, so Nintendo has to provide this warning. If you want to completely get rid of it, but you also want to avoid the ticket left by AnyTitle Deleter (though this really does not matter), go find a WAD with the same title ID as your custom channel. Then use a WAD installer to uninstall this WAD.by jbc007 - Homebrew General
If for whatever reason you don't like HBC 1.0.8 (as unlikely as that is), you can always reinstall HBC 1.0.6. If fact, both revisions can be installed at the same time. In answer to your original question, the HBC does not have a setting to prevent the update check. If you are determined to disable it, Axel's suggestion is really your only option. That does not matter. All we know is that the system menu is intact, but something is causing it to crash. This could very well be a malformed banner.by jbc007 - FixMii
The brick was most likely caused by the installation of a bad channel WAD, and if this is the case, there is nothing you can do (assuming IOS 70 was not trucha patched). However, it could be caused by message board data corruption. If this is the case, you will be able to boot into maintenance mode. It also could be caused by a theme, in which case updating from a game with 4.3E would fix it.by jbc007 - FixMii
QuotemdbrimQuotemost NAND modifying applications (such as Priiloader) still require bugs that are not present in newer IOS revisions. Yeah, i don't use those so that is where there might be a reason to not go to 4.3 that i don't know about. But if you can do bootmii as boot2 (which you may be able to) would you need those other things? (once again, don't use too many nand appsby jbc007 - Getting Started
If you are willing to go to the effort to update manually, you may as well update to 4.1, as the only purpose of 4.2 (and 4.3) is to remove homebrew. If you do this, use DOP-Mii to install IOS 60 v6174, and then system menu 4.1. You should also install all IOS versions that you don't already have (DOP-Mii will tell you whether you have any given IOS); however, there is no reason to installby jbc007 - Getting Started
If you have not used any NAND modifying applications other than the HBC, DVDx, or Bootmii, simply run the Hackmii Installer and have it uninstall everything that you have installed. Be sure to uninstall Bootmii/IOS last, even if you never installed it. Finally, check your play log and if the HBC appears in it, perform a system format.
