4.3 could actually fix that workaround if Nintendo decided to make it trigger an 003 error if the call returns the "unimplemented handle". The workaround works because the system menu only triggers the 003 error if the "not Korean" call returns 0. They stupidly decided not to check for that other value, and thus let people using IOS60 with 4.2 go. Fixing this would brick anybody using a pre-70 IOby WikiFSX - Homebrew General
FAT32 should work with just about everything.by WikiFSX - Getting Started

Gens is open source and has this capability. However, parts of it are written in x86 assembly, making a port harder.by WikiFSX - Homebrew Applications
That's a serious fudging of some stuff that has been talked about. It has been said that if Nintendo intentionally bricked a Wii, they could be sued.by WikiFSX - Homebrew General
There are no models that the HackMii Installer does not support besides the Korean Wiis. Actually, just try the installation. It may work.by WikiFSX - Getting Started
1. The question had been answered. 2. He didn't want to read that information, otherwise he would have asked how to.by WikiFSX - BootMii Beta
The System Menu shouldn't matter at all. The HackMii Installer neither depends on nor cares about it.by WikiFSX - Getting Started
Well, really, encryption is still safe as long as you can't get either key. If you can get either key in any encryption scheme at that point, both keys would be compromised. "Death of RSA" is somewhat misleading. RSA would simply become little more effective than, say, AES.by WikiFSX - Offtopic
QuoteprofetylenOK. Terabytes? Is it even enough? and it will take forever to check whether your terabyte-number is a prime. With a (theoretical) quantum computer that can operate as fast as a modern computer, no, it is not. High-speed quantum computing is basically the death of RSA.by WikiFSX - Offtopic
Basically, a quantum computer using Shor's algorithm takes a number of steps equal to the number of digits in the source number to get prime factors. That is, factoring 15 takes 2 steps, factoring 3,274,383,273,209,428,423,092,348, if it can be done, takes 25, etc.by WikiFSX - Offtopic
Okay. The IOSes look normal, so I can't see the problem.by WikiFSX - Getting Started
@elmoreas: The RSA public key is taken from a Wii.by WikiFSX - Offtopic
I still wonder why that happens. It may have something to do with the Korean common key...by WikiFSX - Getting Started
You don't even need to uninstall it, just try to launch the HackMii Installer.by WikiFSX - Getting Started
All Wiis have the same IOSes, though, besides ones that 3.3K and 3.5K used.by WikiFSX - Getting Started

I never quite understood why the HackMii Installer didn't work, actually. Could someone explain it?by WikiFSX - Getting Started
Settings menu, first page. If no number in a format like "3.0U" shows up, you have 1.0. Otherwise, that number is your version.by WikiFSX - Getting Started
Here's how a theoretical fully-automatic bruteforcer for the Wii RSA private key works. Step 1. Randomly generate a key. (Recommended Step 1.5. Make sure that key hasn't been used before.) Step 2. Encrypt some test material with that key. Step 3. Try to decrypt that encrypted test material with the known Wii RSA public key. Step 4. Did the process work? If not, skip to step 6. Sby WikiFSX - Offtopic
That is not the issue. The key that we lack is the signature master key. We can encrypt data, basically, we can do everything except generate valid signatures.by WikiFSX - Offtopic
The Homebrew Channel is stored on the Wii, as is DVDX. Homebrew apps are stored on the SD card. Mini and Ceiling Cat (the default things loaded by BootMii, often simply called "BootMii") are also stored on the SD card.by WikiFSX - Getting Started
Don't use Trucha Bug Restorer. It installs patched/old IOSes, and that's not what you want. Use NUS Downloader to get all of the latest IOSes and the latest System Menu for your region, and pack them all into WADs. (you will need the common key, I can give you that, or certain programs like CustomizeMii have you generate it) Then, use wadImport to install.by WikiFSX - The Junkyard
I don't think that we ever can. I was just unsure.by WikiFSX - Offtopic
You'd be lucky to run Notepad at a usable speed.by WikiFSX - Wii Linux
@profetylen: It's impossible to find out if any part of the key is correct. We can either know that it is 100% wrong or 100% right, for the most part.by WikiFSX - Offtopic
It's always safe to update if you don't have a Korean Wii set up to use a System Menu from another region. The HBC might be removed, but that's the only thing homebrew-related that can happen during an update.by WikiFSX - Homebrew General
