oops, i edited out my questions because i asked them before i tested :D Yeah, i think your guesstimations are pretty close. My 3MB sound file took about 3 seconds to load (based on how long my cursor was frozen). Then i removed the load portions from my press A code and like you mentioned and it does all that in the background while i'm navigating to the audio menu :D yeah i was worriby mdbrim - Coding
AWESOME! it was the fatinitdefault(); line. works like a charm now I also moved all the stuff except the play buffer line out of the "press A" code like you suggested... got rid of the 2 second frozen cursor i got while it was loading in the buffer... thanks guys!by mdbrim - Coding

full source is 4308 lines long... but i can paste the related items. #include asndlib.h #include mp3player.h FILE *BGM = 0; long lSize; char * mbuffer; size_t mresult; int main() { ASND_Init(); MP3Player_Init(); while(1){ Scanpads WHEN A IS PRESSED { BGM = fopen("test.mp3", "rb"); fseek (BGM , 0 , SEEK_END); lSize = ftell (BGM);by mdbrim - Coding
Arikado, (or anyone with the mp3 skillz!) I followed your blog to try to add mp3 from sd support in my app. did the following: FILE *BGM = 0; long lSize; char * mbuffer; size_t mresult; bool mp3isready = false; up at the top. down in the body of my code put this in under my "when A is pressed" BGM = fopen("test.mp3", "rb"); fseek (BGM , 0 , SEEK_END); lSize =by mdbrim - Coding

no, 4.2 users will just have to wait... (just like 3gs 3.1 users...)by mdbrim - Homebrew General
uh, no offense, but there are very very VERY few homebrew apps that even come close to rivaling anything nintendo can make. But that's not why we homebrew... we don't do it to rival nintendo, it's to make games and apps that we want and do the things we want them to do, and to participate in a hobby.by mdbrim - Homebrew General
recommend you remove that link cavado, before the mods do...by mdbrim - Coding
do you already have the homebrew channel installed? if no, follow this: homebrew setup if yes, follow this: apps basically they have to be on your sd card in a folder called apps. So: SD:\apps\nameofapp\boot.dolby mdbrim - Getting Started
sounds good man... jabce85 said he would help too... just kidding... sorry dude, i don't know why i answered you and didn't even notice you were the jabce... guess i scrolled too fast..by mdbrim - Ideas, requests
dude, if you are ever following a tutorial, and it says "You will brick!!" ANYWHERE in a step (especially if the word Wad is nearby), I dunno, maybe you shouldn't be doing that... did you do a nand backup? Edit: Nevermind... just saw the topic again...by mdbrim - FixMii
we need more info... what steps exactly are you going thru to attempt the install?by mdbrim - Getting Started
Arikado's A & B FTW!!! glad to hear it was a simple fix (love those!)by mdbrim - Homebrew Applications
I'll have to admit though Arikado, i liked your post, cuz I did not know that... so I did learn something from it!!by mdbrim - Homebrew Applications
also, if you did place it on your SD Card correctly with the boot.dol file in WiiSX, apps without xml and png files usually show up at the end of your homebrew app list, so make sure you are scrolling all the way thru.by mdbrim - Homebrew Applications
lol @ Arikado Quotebut i am new to homebrew and i would just like to know what DVDX is for as i cannot understant the explination on wiibrew. an excellent summary WaxyPumpkin, one perfect for a person of his level of understanding...by mdbrim - Homebrew Applications
well, like jabce85 said, it'll probably be two players just to get the basics done and release v0.1, BUT like he also said, that doesn't do you any good for your 3am sessions... so it'll have some sort of one player mode, if that is with gnubg or something else, i don't know. i haven't looked at gnubg but i will... i'm all about not having to reinvent the wheel.by mdbrim - Ideas, requests
thats actually one of my next project ideas once i get done with my current one (should be another week or so). Glad to see there is some interest for it!by mdbrim - Ideas, requests

i know i was only joking about the post counts... you really can't gauge anything by post count (just look at TopGun (HA jk!)) it was just funny the way you worded your logic. No worries, glad you got it working, what i posted was just step 1 of a 3 step process so i thought you were going to come back with what happened and go from there, but it seems you are up and running.
