Update to 4.0

How can I update to 4.0 from 3.4. I just want to go that far for SDHC support, and there are some really cool menu themes, most of which are only on 4.0.

There isn't really a way an easy way to do it right now. You can use NUS Downloader to download the correct IOSes and wadImport to install them, but you need to know what to download.

BTW, 4.1 is a better system menu to be on. There is a bug in 4.0 that is fixed in 4.1. 4.1 Uses the same IOSes as 4.0.

But I found a cool theme database where all the themes are for either 3.2 or 4.0. Would the 4.0 themes work on 4.1?

what will you lose if you update to 4.3?

The version of Brawl Minus that I burned to a disc instead of having to load ocarina every time I want to play it. Cause burned discs wouldnt work.

plus mentioned above, all the themes only work on 3.2 and 4.0, unless you can find me the black wii theme for 4.3.

That is unsupported here, as it falls in the category of backups. Anyway, all you really need to do is use NUS Downloader to download IOS 60 v6174 (if you use the latest revision instead, you will fully brick your wii) and system menu 4.0 and pack them into WADs. Install these WADs with WAD Import Be sure to install IOS 60 before the system menu. If you haven't already done so, you may wish to install IOS 61 and the shop channel as well. On a side note, you may also optionally install IOS 58 and reinstall HBC 1.0.8 so that you will have USB 2.0 speed.

This will leave you with most of the IOS revisions released with 3.4 rather than those released with 4.0, but the only difference between these revisions is that the 3.4 edition has the STM Release bug. Therefore, this is not a problem.

Don't forget to install Bootmii/boot2 or Priiloader before installing a theme.
