wiisx (PS1 EMULATOR)

so is this still being worked on?
and is there gunna be a menu like there is on vbagx?
couse in some of the vids i have seen of it being played.
and there was no menu in those.
also i heard some one on a different fourm said that they where going to try and release it vefore 09 but as we all see that was an epic fail.
not that they arent working incredible hard.
so if anyone has a site that will have updates or a site with a download link..
or anything that has any information about it.

The Wiki pages for emus have all the links you need, but visit emulatemii for their development blog. Updates are scarce, but in the "April 1st video is real" entry, they mention that this is still alive.

Also, that blog has links to the google code repositories for Wii64 and WiiSX, though the developers have stopped updating them with new revisions for the last couple of months.

I doubt it will have a VBAGX-style menu, since they're focusing on getting the core functions working first. It wouldn't be unreasonable to expect some kind of user interface, however.

I'd estimate that a new update for Wii64 is at least 2 months away, and so WiiSX comes after that. This is speculation, of course.

also (i cant wait to play my old crash bandicoot games.)

is it gunna be full speed off the back or what?
are we gunna have a slow version first then a full speed version like wii 64?

Yes. Although, wii64 (and school) is taking precedence ATM.

You're asking the developers to learn a brand new lib written entirely in C++. AFAIK, most of PCSX is in C, so its probably not going to happen. That doesn't mean its impossible though.

The original Wii64 release was a Tiizer. AKA a proof of concept. After the backlash they seem to have received because of it, I doubt they'll bother to release a Tiizer of PCSXWii. Most likely, the first public release of it we'll see will be a beta with most games working perfectly.

I second that! I got ffvii to run, but the speed wasnt to great.

i dont even understand how to run ps1 games on an emu.
are they in rom form or iso's?

ISO's externally loaded from the SD Card.

Call me crazy, but --although I do like FFVII-- to me VIII is the better game. I don't like IX too much but I'll still play it.

I went through the trouble of converting because I read somewhere it wasn't yet capable of dealing with iso's.

I actually downloaded ISOs somewhere and when they were extracted they were in .bin form. I put them on my SD Card and when I launched WiiSX it read and played them.

Actually I don't. But would like to know this myself as I'm desperately wanting to play supper puzzle fighter 2. (I own the original PS CD)
