Yeah BootMii is up to date. Locks up the same way it would from preloader forever ago.by Jigen - Testing Corner
QuoteRhetoricQuoteJigenNot sure if its related in any way to the issue with Dop-IOS Mod, but my Wii can't load directly to HBC from Bootmii. It just goes to a garbled mess, though there its a more colorful mess of random pixel while Dop-IOS Mod appears to be a screen full of text that gets all jacked up. Would do the same thing back on 3.2 trying to auto boot to HBC from preloader. Perhapby Jigen - Testing Corner
QuoteRhetoricQuoteJigenWhen I try and install any IOS the screen goes into a garbled mess, after selecting the IOS and the option about sig. Tried running the application under multiple IOSes and it always happens. Though it even happens for me under v0.6 I have this same problem. My wii is 4.1U with the latest (necessary) IOS versions that can be obtained via Dop-IOS_v8. The Wii locks up whileby Jigen - Testing Corner

I looked at dop-IOS mod and didn't see system menu listed anywhere...by Jigen - Homebrew Applications
Yeah, I know Gecko OS can be used instead, would just be nice to load games directly from the system menu. Wouldn't really mind updating to 4.2 if I didn't have to deal with homebrew being erased, which I assume running the new HackMii installer would fix, but still the risk of bricking due to crappy boot2 coding in the update is a big deterrent.by Jigen - Homebrew Applications
Well as is known, StartPatch's region free Gamecube hack actually kills Gamecube support on 4.1. Just wondering if this is ever planned to be fixed. Don't really want to update to 4.2by Jigen - Homebrew Applications
QuoteSpyroDragonThey still don't get that Homebrew is actually a good thing, that helps to sell Wii's. Was the main reason I bought a Wii. Actually only play a Wii game a handful of times a year.by Jigen - Homebrew General
QuoteWaxyPumpkin72 Honestly, it doesn't have much. The only thing worth getting from there is SSB64. They have, like, 7 or 8 different free channels to download, but all of them are useless because you can't read anything (because its in japanese LOL), and you can't connect to their servers. That could actually be useful, as I'm in the process of learning Japanese, but theby Jigen - Offtopic
Crappy. Would like to see what exclusives the Japanese shop has to offer. I'd be more than willing to give Nintendo my money. Could just get wads off the net I suppose, just not in me to steal however.by Jigen - Offtopic
Is there any way to access the Japanese Wii Shop channel? Last I knew the only way to do so involved deleting all the games you'd already downloaded.by Jigen - Offtopic
Anyone know how well this works? "Just clip off the Lock Out chip completely and then run a wire from pin 10 on the lockout chip (CHIP 'U8') to PIN 4 on the chip 'U10' and thats it!!" If it does, does anyone know where to find a better guide, and some pictures? Or if it doesn't work to well, what mod there is that allows import games to work, even hard to workby Jigen - Offtopic

Starfall and Preloader both fail to make my Wii (downgraded from 3.3 to 3.2U) region free. I figure maybe they're just patching the wrong addresses in memory, due to downgrading, or something else. Is there any easy way to determine the correct address to patch and/or verify the address the hacks.ini is patching is correct?by Jigen - Coding
QuoteArikadoQuoteDrLuckyQuoteJigenDang, Yeah I downgraded from 3.3 to 3.2U. Does give a couple errors during the process, which I can't remember off hand, ES_Identify is one of them. Just sucks having to go through GeckoOs all the time. if you are on 3.2, then you can use gecko and reboot with hooks allowing region free from the main channel. Reboot with hooks doesnt work with downgradeby Jigen - Homebrew General

Which version of IOS30 should one have? Preloader and Starfall both won't make my Wii region free. Thinking maybe I have the wrong IOS30, even though I'm running system menu 3.2Uby Jigen - Homebrew General
Running AnyTitle Deleter Mod v3. Seeing if maybe theres something in there preventing preloader from making my Wii region free. I see I have two 'Region Select Hidden Channels' (HALJ and HALE) and two 'EULA Hidden Channels' (HAKJ and HAKE) What exactly are these and where do they come from?by Jigen - Homebrew Applications
Starfall and Preloader both fail to make region free for Wii games, though region free Gamecube games work. I figure my systems a bit different somehow, from messing with homebrew stuff, and the addresses dealing with wii region does not correspond to Starfall and Preloader. Gecko OS and menuloader both work however. Is there any easy way to figure out what these two are patching, and thus givby Jigen - Homebrew Applications
QuoteArikadoJigen, how did you put wads from different regions on your wii? I mean just with like the patch for the shop channel and such, maybe something there altered the code inside the Wii, or other homebrew apps modifying something. Haven't done actual stuff with wads myself.by Jigen - Homebrew General
I had previously been using 3.3U (version 1 I believe, not positive though) Had also installed the patched Wii shop channel. Then later downgraded to 3.2U. Installed both 3.2J and 3.2U a few times now. Doesn't matter if I do a fresh install and then starfall, or install then preloader, still get no region free.by Jigen - Homebrew General
Both starfall and preloader fail to make my Wii region free. GeckoOS and MenuLoader both do though. Problem is, those are only temporary. Now, my thought is that somewhere along the lines the areas where region detection take place in the Wad's code was modified, thus patching with preloader's hacks.ini patches the wrong location. While using anyregionchanger I get "Identifying as SU...Error! ES_Identify (ret = -1017)" after loading IOS 255 midway through. Anyone know how to fix this? Running 0.27 now. Doesn't autocheck for update, and I even have show beta updates set. Is there any way to force it to look for an update?by Jigen - Homebrew Applications
No idea if 3.3 was v1 or v2. All it said was 3.3, so I'd assume v1. About Preloader moving files, preloader doesn't make it region free either. And I've reinstalled 3.2, which gets rid of preloader in the process, and then installing just Starfall, and it still fails to work right. My guess would be the IOS being left over. There has to be a way to remove/fix that IOS somehoby Jigen - Homebrew Applications
Starfall also fails to actually make the Wii region free. Using Gecko OS works, but having to go through all the menus bites. Would love to just be able to turn the Wii on and go.by Jigen - Homebrew Applications
Edit: Reinstalled 3.2U, got Starfall to run. However installing the region free hacks fails to actually make anything region free. Region free hacks in preloader also fail to deliver I had previously 3.3 installed, and had run Wii Shop and IOS51 installer, if this might be causing any problems...by Jigen - Homebrew Applications
