Hopefully I'll use this library in the new version of Crazy Intro... this weekend possibly... Indeed great work! edit: I've implemented support, here how it looks likeby I.R.on - Ideas, requests
Mii channel got these updates, 3.3 With this update, you can now move a Mii from the Mii Plaza to the Mii Parade in the Mii Channel. To do this, simply pick up a Mii using the A and B Buttons and then release it over the Mii Parade icon in the upper-right corner of the screen. 3.4 USB keyboard support is available for the Mii Channel In the recent versions I remember a mingle stuff forby I.R.on - Testing Corner
Well great work mdbrim! All my wiis display correctly except one... which is a fantastic one having eyes on top of his head... I had downloaded this.. the eyes are missing in your preview tool. taken from mii avatar editor (displays akin to the mii channel) and here your preview tool shows, here is the actual mii : Weird mii and an extra mii shows up in the end which mii eby I.R.on - Testing Corner
Quotebg4545QuoteI.R.onIf what you say is correct then waninkoko's mii installer and mii extractor apps should not work correctly anymore too.. They don't. Oops, it seems no one uses them. Never seen a noob cry after that :)by I.R.on - Ideas, requests
You mean they changed how they store the miis on RFL_DB.dat file? Pretty strange, I mean isn't ppc code dealing with miis? If what you say is correct then waninkoko's mii installer and mii extractor apps should not work correctly anymore too.. Haven't tested though. About the alpha, no problem. I can wait at least you somewhat come up with a bare interface to use the library.by I.R.on - Ideas, requests
It might be a bootmii.ini corruption issue too... open it with a linux line ending friendly editor and see if it's truncated. it happened to me once when there was no space left on the sd card.by I.R.on - Homebrew General
@mdbrim : If you have any working alpha or something, I'd like to test it in Crazy Intro... I already use libmii to display a splash screen on the birthday of any mii in case feature is turned on in the configuration.by I.R.on - Ideas, requests
@mdbrim : I had used Softhink decompiler on that one (actually the site was ) . I guess you already got the images and did something, that's great! Decompiling that stuff was not that completely successful by the way. @sifjar : libmii uses isfs to read that face blah blah file, may require nand access patch on the ios dunno.by I.R.on - Ideas, requests
@mdbrim : Once I decompiled a mii creator flash file for this job, it has all the stuff you need in it. such as this one : Though licensing deals could be present when you use this stuff. Still the images could be reworked by an homebrew graphics artis.by I.R.on - Ideas, requests
Some jpeg library dunno which one have problems with meta data in the jpeg files. Re-saving jpeg files through irfanview or similar program and getting rid of that meta data helps.by I.R.on - Coding
For friend codes see here : It would be nice if friend codes can be added in batch with a program... say a pc program, you paste the friend codes then you send the app through wiiload to homebrew channel and the program that's sent adds them for you... Though I guess most of the games require individual friend codes for themselves... so this can only work for messaging and so on...by I.R.on - Coding
Maybe "\r\n" returns unicode (4 bytes) so memcmp comparison doesn't work... Try compiling the program with no unicode support compilation option... Alternatively you can use a char array with contents { 0x0d, 0x0a }by I.R.on - Coding
@scanff : Java became open source a while ago... though it's still Sun's baby... Sun is acquired by Oracle by the way... So java is now Oracle's grandchild too :) (along with mysql)by I.R.on - Coding
by "indirect referencing" do you mean pointers? Actually my way of porting the application to the wii was direct, only tweaked the headers since vc++ lacks some posix functionality. Also turned both standalone programs into library functions... Tested it through functionality too, I was injecting giana sisters into the international karate savegame... Because of the limited time I had, stby I.R.on - Coding
Well it's already possible through argv style arguments, homebrew channel supports them... One thing you can't accomplish though, programs to be able to return to programs that invoked them require the launching program to be a loader... one that leaves a stub behind to reinitialize itself... Homebrew channel for example reloads itself from nand once a program returns to it... as scaby I.R.on - Ideas, requests
Basically you need to set a different flag for the sd card menu I guess.... You can see the actual switch statement used in system menu's disassembly... Though in newer versions the sel file (which contains symbol information) is shrinked by Nintendo.by I.R.on - Coding
Quotecactusjack901QuoteI.R.onIn that time hacking groups were notable even their creations (intros/demos) are published as code examples in official c64 magazines. One last offtopic note here. These demos/intros were actually so popular/regarded, that there's still a "Demo Scene" based around making those types of Demos for DOS and whatnot. You only need sd-key, sd-iv, md5-blanker files to unpack a savefile... the other files (keys/values) are specific to each wii and used only when packing a save... The same way you can transfer your saves to the wii vc emulators... for c64 you can even transfer game snapshots which eventually replace the original game emulated only by modifying the savefile... QuoteSifJar QuoteI.R.on For the general matter, it's worst for DVDX actually... all the applications that use it must be recompiled, packaged, distributed... insane amount of work... Apparently, this will only need to happen once, as there is now code which will find DVDx regardless of title ID, so apps compiled now wont need to be recompiled when there is yet another title ID change of Dby I.R.on - Homebrew General
My app Crazy Intro too relies on the title id of the Homebrew Channel... Though I didn't need an update since I read the title id of the homebrew channel from a configuration file. Just replacing HAXX with JODI suffices. Unfortunately, I'm just stuck in initializiation. WPAD_Expansion never returns an expansion structure with motion plus type... Could you post or send me a larger snippet of code? By the way I see WPAD_ReadPending doesn't matter since WPAD_ScanPads is just s32 WPAD_ScanPads() { return WPAD_ReadPending(WPAD_CHAN_ALL, NULL); }by I.R.on - Coding
The jpeg library used in homebrew apps has bugs mainly around meta information parsing stuff like exif data & such... You don't even need to malform the data :) Same way, similar bugs may exist in the photo channel especially when this meta data is malformed. Though afaik nintendo can push updates on system channels... maybe not dunno... Such exploits should be the easiest for nintendoby I.R.on - Ideas, requests
Hmm strange, WPAD_ScanPads works for reading accelerometer's values... I'll try out WPAD_ReadPending function when I get back home... thanksby I.R.on - Coding

QuotemelwSo, what is the correct way of initializing the MotionPlus extension? I had first similar problems to I.R.on above, but after playing around a bit I got readings from the extension - in not so pretty way: // in main loop if(!mpConnected) { sleep(2); WPAD_SetMotionPlus(0, 1); } WPAD_Expansion(0, &exp); if (exp.type == EXP_MOTION_PLUS) mpConnected = true; else mpCoby I.R.on - Coding

You go to Mime types in your hosting control panel / your server's settings or so and add a mime type for the file extension you are interested... such as, .app application/octet-stream Sorry, there is no general way to do this... ps : here is a sample file for you to test your app, (file is a small gif file with the extension changed to app, in my configuration I have .appby I.R.on - Coding
if you are downloading a wad... make sure your chosen web server serves it right... in a normal setup your web server will not know anything about an arbitrary extension so it will not serve it... you should configure a mime type in your web server for the file to be served...by I.R.on - Coding
