ok... I understand... wow, looks very cool! I'm with daniel_c_w , I can't wait to try it! Will it have a feature that either rejects or re-sizes and image that is not 256x192?by DrLucky - Homebrew General
QuotewhodaresYou'd still need a non-Nintendo NAND loader (when it comes to distribution, using the Nintendo one for testing on your own Wii is okay). The first page of this thread talks about that (and we'll eventually come back to it, one my banner tools are finished). If you (or anybody else) try this, please post your results here. If we tried your finished banner tools? Have yoby DrLucky - Homebrew General
QuotemarcanWaninkoko released a SNES channel way back with a black banner (the one from the hbc demo). That one was legal. did it have Tantric's SNES emulator in it?by DrLucky - Homebrew General
QuoteploggyQuoteDrLuckyQuoteploggyThat must be the case, the analog light comes on when it's connected to the Xbox but not when it's connected to the Wii GC ports (It maybe a case of a tempremental adapter but I don't think so) does the light come on when plugged into a GC? No, not when plugged in the Wii :( but it does in the original GameCube?by DrLucky - Homebrew General
ok... so eIOS would be better? for : edited IOS?by DrLucky - Software
QuotebushingStop using the term "cIOS". It does not mean what you think it means. isn't a cIOS a custom IOS?by DrLucky - Software

QuotemarcanQuoteMuzerQuoteWha? Of course it can be done. Whether it's a good idea is debatable. I was under the impression that it was completely triggered by the system menu itself, and a custom IOS alone could not prevent it. There are two ways it can. You can change some files in NAND (the way libogc does right now when returning to menu) to use the "channels animation" instead of the warby DrLucky - Software
QuoteAerialX Possible? Yes. But keep in mind that adding support for USB gamepads is going to be more complicated than flipping a switch and it magically working. PS: If anyone actually knows if it's already been done (or if a portable library exists that would do such a thing) please do poke me about it :) Otherwise, I'll be tackling that on my own at some point in the future. soby DrLucky - Homebrew General
Ok... I understand you now. 2 things now. Isn't Starfall "dangerous" to use? I have a 3.3 . Is it still possible to remove the warning -without starfall- a different way? Like a cIOS?by DrLucky - Software
QuoteMuzerQuotewell, I have 3.3 so I can't. So the Warning screen was an "upgrade"? how lame.... Um, no. Just, starfall only works on 3.2. As I said, downgrading works. No, what I was asking was "So the warning screen was added to the Wii with the 3.3 update?" A Wii bought before then with 3.2 on it didn't have that screen?by DrLucky - Software
QuoteMuzerIf you have 3.2E or 3.2U (you can downgrade), use Starfall. well, I have 3.3 so I can't. So the Warning screen was an "upgrade"? how lame....by DrLucky - Software
Although it isn't a really important feature, I was wondering if there was any possible way o remove the health warning screen from the Wii during start up. If it were an IOS, then it could be changed or removed right? I simply find it annoying and evidence that the judicial system in any country is seriously so f***ed up that we now have to warn kids not to play to much video games! I don&by DrLucky - Software
________________________________________________ UPDATE Nov. 7 (update 2) Crash Bandicoot Compilation (.bin) (requested) Company Logo opening plays fine. Main screen did not react to controller input. 007 Tomorrow Never Dies (.bin) (requested) Game freezes on opening loading screen. (sorry... all that wok finding the game, and nothing...) would it be possible to have a homebrew app that tests all of the banner in a "banner" folder on a SD card? seems like that would be much easier...by DrLucky - Homebrew General
? what do you mean make a wii disc? but it does sound like you are on to something... I have a modchip too! (but I'll let you test your theory first, haha)by DrLucky - Homebrew General
sounds like WiiSX is working better! haha... hope this comes out soon... wish I were learning C++ instead of C#by DrLucky - Homebrew Applications
So, any new news? Status update? I saw on Wiibrew : "07 November 08: DCelso has added an unofficial wii64 r435 version with wiimote+nunchuk support" does this one work any better? Its appearance re-kindled my curiosity.by DrLucky - Homebrew Applications
_________________________________________________ UPDATE Nov. 7th Final Fantasy Chronicles (.img) Logo screens appear, no opening sequence. Main screen freezes, no play what so ever. Tail Concerto (.bin) Fantastic! Game is fully playable! Opening sequence runs in regular time, game play is a little slow, movement is kind of like moonwalking, but best complete game play yet. No graphicby DrLucky - Homebrew Applications
I am asking a purely technical question...What is in a VC wad? Are there actual .rom files in it? are there emulator-like programs? what is contained in them?by DrLucky - Homebrew General
QuoteArikadoI would love to see you try 007 the world is not enough and castlevania chronicles. EDIT:I would also live to see you try final fantasy tactics. ok...I'll give em a try... I could make a video... I have a video capture card. But, I can't seem to find the drivers I need for my video card to capture a video... I have : Winnov Videum AV PCI (with WAVI 97) capture cardby DrLucky - Homebrew Applications
yeah, I was also wondering why the current version , which works great, is a beta...by DrLucky - Homebrew General
UPDATE Nov. 6th Metal Gear Solid (DLed .img) didnt even boot... rather disappointed actually. Gran Tursmo (.bin) played fantastically... boot well, fast FPS, intro movie played flawlessly. I attempted to start an "arcade' game, and it crashed to a code dump. I went back to start in the alternate mode. I was able to move around, shop for cars, pick the color ect... It emulated verby DrLucky - Homebrew Applications
Quotewhodares@DrLucky: Yes, you'll need Photoshop or some other graphics package to produce your images. As for the moving banners, I've already covered that: QuotewhodaresYes, animation stuff will be added at some point (hopefully). cool... oh, sorry about that... i know I asked that a while back, but I must have missed your answer... Does it use video files? or animatedby DrLucky - Homebrew General
Will we be able to design our banners in Photoshop and them import them in with your app? and what about the moving banners? Like the Nintendo ones have and like in the HBC?by DrLucky - Homebrew General
yeah... a DS emulator would be pretty nice... I think the DS is around the same level as the N64... correct me if I'm wrong...by DrLucky - Homebrew General
I got a 2 gig Kingston SD card from Best Buy on sale for $15.. regular is $25! A lot of new homebrew supports SDHC cards which can go up to 64 gigs or more! But they are quite expensive, and IMO, useless... I would spend that money on a USB drive with much more space and plug it into the back of the Wii!by DrLucky - Homebrew General
cool tool! Looks great! oh.... and it WONT be pirating since we will be editing our own banners and you won't be spreading around banners or its code, right?by DrLucky - Homebrew General
I never put the .cue file in the iso folder... hmm.. I'll try MGS and Crash... I'm guessing that FF7 works well since the emu designers have been using it for their testing...by DrLucky - Homebrew Applications
UPDATE - Nov. 4 Games tested: Spyro (bin) Land Before Time (trying to find small, lame games without much detail) (bin) Final Fantasy 7 Spyro got stuck at the opening like Spyro Ripto's Rage did. LBT let me get a little far, but eventually froze, never any game play. Some text appeared at the bottom... something about forcing commands. I ripped Tony Hawk as a bin... no differencby DrLucky - Homebrew Applications
