How old is your new Wii? By the "great deal" it sounds like it can be old and if it's old enough you could install BootMii as boot2 and so whithout practically any chance of bricking use between as WikiFSX said. However, as WikiFSX said, it shouldn't too risky to restore your NAND with BootMii as IOS. However, if you would brick, you could take the consoles apart and switch NANDs with tby profetylen - Homebrew General

Have you set the option "4 controllers"? I can't precicely remember where it is, but if you look around, you'll find it.by profetylen - Homebrew Applications
WOW!!! This is totally amizingly good-lookingly and user-friendlily perfect!!! Congratulations to a fantastic job! My only suggestion is that you make the background console colour a little bit darker as it is now a little bit hard to read the text while updating. Anyway, as I said; This is amazingly good looking!!!!by profetylen - Ideas, requests
According to rumours, Nintendo doesn't reject repairs even if "unauthorized software" is found. If I were you, I think I would just do a Bootmii backup and then send it in and when I get it back, I would just restore it with the backup. Alternatively, I'd delete all non-nintendo titles you have installed with any title deleter before sending it in (and still do the Bootmii backup jusby profetylen - Offtopic
Wow! I would like this app. I actually suggested it yesterday on the B+ IRC. I guess you could check the netsend example and the HTTP download example located at the downmost place on this page: . If you want to learn C++ from scratch i suggest this page: . Also, to learn to program for the Wii from scratch i suggest: . Good luck!by profetylen - Ideas, requests
QuoteckinrunDamn. So no OpenGL at al? Bleh.... Looks like its time for me to learn GX then.... /me returns to nerd cave Google gl2gx andread what you find. It's a half-made port of openGL.by profetylen - Ideas, requests
Can't remember precicely, but there are some video options somewhere. Maybe it is in the "in-game menu".by profetylen - Ideas, requests
Hm there's no warning sign on the Gecko OS wiki page saying this application makes permanent changes to your NAND. Why is that?by profetylen - Offtopic

QuoteWaxyPumpkin72QuoteprofetylenFor Wii, I find the best to be Brawl+ For gamecube: Mario Kart - Double Dash (or maybe SSB Melee, but Brawl's the best on wii so...) For N64: Well, it has to be Super Smash Brothers... For SNES: Super Mario World. For NES: Megaman 2. For PC and overall, it's definately STARCRAFT BROODWAR!!!! I actually have to agree with a lot of those. loby profetylen - Offtopic
QuoteWaxyPumpkin72Is this a lost cause? It hasn't been updated in a while (even though multiple people have made some suggestions). I still think Gecko OS should be nominated..... The last of the nomination criterias: "The application must not modify the Wii's flash memory (NAND) or otherwise cause permanent changes to the Wii" Gecko OS does this, when it installs updates from dby profetylen - Offtopic

QuoteScuttleButt31I have put the smashstack file onto my SD card. Does it need to be SDHC? Just to clear things up: I think it mustn't be SDHC 'cause Brawl can't read SDHC cards.by profetylen - Homebrew General
Just out of curiousity, why do you have to use loadmii to make it work?by profetylen - Getting Started
Quotethedemon13666i found it for genesis plus gx, but for snes9x gx for save states the options were network, usb, sd card. :S What Tantric is saying is: support for saving to a GC memory card is in the code of Snes9x, but it isn't available for the user. To enable it, you would have to download the source of Snes9x and change the code slightly, then compile a version of it yourself so the oby profetylen - Homebrew Applications

Ok! That was what I thought. Do you think all SD code looks the same in every Wii game? In that case you could make a program that loads the dol with a patch, replaceing all SD functionality with SDHC funtionality (possibly throught hooking if space is found). If the program works, then you could incoporate it in Gecko OS if the developers allows you to do so.by profetylen - Ideas, requests
Aha! I'm not entirely sure what hook means though. Is it to continue a sequence of assembly instructions in some other place?by profetylen - Ideas, requests
Quotemetroid_maniacWell, SDHC is managed in a completely different way to SD. Look it up on Wikipedia. It is a lot more Software based than Hardware based. I've look it up. What I mean is, once you know where the SD functions are, they shouldn't be too hard to rewrite to SDHC functions even though they are quite complicated since the they have already been written by others.by profetylen - Ideas, requests
Quotemetroid_maniacThe code would probably be so long that Ocarina would choke on it. :-) Why? Which are the SD functions? Save file? Open file? What more? If the functions would be declared inline it shouldn't be that hard to make the codes if you just knew where the funcitons are located or am I missing something here?by profetylen - Ideas, requests
QuoteWaxyPumpkin72QuoteSifJarIts only illegal if it actually uses ripped images. The images in for example Super Mario War just happen to bear an uncanny resemblence to a famous video game character, but they are made completely from scratch (afaik) and not ripped from a game, which makes it legal. I think. If it was illegal, it wouldn't be on WiiBrew. This is true. :) In that case (that iby profetylen - Ideas, requests
QuoteSifJar"But what about Mario War?" - I'm pretty sure the sprites in it are fan made, not ripped from a Nintendo game. Does that matter? The sprites looks very (VERY) similar to the real ones. Are you sure that is legal?by profetylen - Ideas, requests
QuoteTopGun96I can say that games do not work with SDHC on 4.1 Ok! Then, the SDHC code must be handled by the .dol or am I wrong?by profetylen - Ideas, requests
