I'm trying to set up the Crazy Intro program, which looks really cool and helpful. I've followed the xml template to define all the applications I want to shortcut, and I believe that I've put my jpeg and mp3 in the correct folder (named 'tree') I also designated that folder as the directory to use with the "theme=tree". However, after installing the dol with priiloadeby seek - Homebrew Applications
OK, great, I'll try just using 1 and see if that works. Thank you muchby seek - Homebrew Applications
Hello, I want to be able to boot into WiiMC from the WiiHome menu, so I'm trying to use CustomizeMii to create a WiiMC channel which I can boot to using WiiHome. However, in the WiiHome .txt file, I'm not sure which number I should use to begin the channel title (1,2,4,8) before the 4 letters. Basically, how do I determine the hex ID of a channel created with CustomizeMii? Sorry forby seek - Homebrew Applications
Wow, just...wow... I misspelled a variable. That's why it's undeclared later on. Please ignore Thank you for your help though :)by seek - Coding
Well, it's saying that my var2 is undeclared (first use in this function) ...do I need to define it at an earlier point? I tried and that didn't do anythingby seek - Coding
Hello, I'm just starting out messing around with coding for the Wii. I've been looking at teknecal's great tutorials, and understand how to get input from one controller using u16 var1 = PAD_ButtonsDown(0), etc. I want to define a variable that checks if controller 2 is being pressed, so I tried, u16 var2 = PAD_ButtonsDown(1), but it seems the compiler doesn't like thaby seek - Coding
OK, great to hear. Thanks! I'm not sure if Nintendo checks for HBC, but just to be on the safe side I want to make sure it's off before I get billed for a repair that's no longer under warranty.by seek - BootMii Beta
Hello, I have a quick question regarding resetting my nand filestructure using bootmii/boot2. So, I backed up my nand a while ago, before I messed around with preloader and AnyRegion Changer. Well anyway, my Wii is having (unrelated) gpu problems, and I want to send it in, but I'm leery to do so with patched IOS's and the HBC on it. So I'm wondering if restoring the nand backupby seek - BootMii Beta
I don't know, it's functioning but it just shuts off when the wifi is in use for a while. If I keep a fan next to it I have no problems. Anyway, does anyone know the answer to my question?by seek - Hardware
So I just got sent a new Wii from the factory when they couldn't fix my old one. As luck would have it the one they sent me has both a messed up sd slot and a broken cooling fan.... Anyway, are the fans on the Wii console-specific, or could I just get any generic pc case fan with a 2pin molex for the power? "Wii replacement fans" seem like a huge waste of money.by seek - Hardware
Well, got my system back today. Repair was really quick and went without a problem. The only thing is that they couldn't save my data (nooooooo!!!) but other than that the Wii is working fine. All my channels are gone (including HB), but having the HB channel installed was never a problem. So, sweet!by seek - Offtopic
Well I appreciate the warning either way. I'll report back on whatever happens.by seek - Offtopic
^ I think that was just an isolated case, and IIRC, that was in Europe right? Maybe it'll be different in the States? I'll see what happens and definitely update on what happens.by seek - Offtopic
So, if I keep my SD card I should be fine then? I haven't messed with WADs or anything, but I do have Snex9x on my SD card. But if I kept it with me, could they find out about it?by seek - Offtopic
So, my Wii is still bricked with corrupted system memory, apparently a disc with 4.0 isn't enough to fix the problem. I think I'll have to just send it in (for $85...). I was wondering if it would be safe to do so, as I have homebrew channel on it. Particularly, is there any kind of history in the Wii memory that would let the technicians know about homwbrew? I'm taking the SDby seek - Offtopic
Well Punchout only came with sm3.4. So I'm wondering what's taking them so long..by seek - Offtopic
Yeah, that's what I've been doing. Who knows when a game with 4.0 will come out though....Or do I just give up the $75 and send it in to nintendo...by seek - Offtopic
Well, it's a problem with my system files. I want to be able to boot directly to a recovery disc. That won't work?by seek - Offtopic
I don't think this belongs anywhere else, so I'll try here. Are there any modchips that will work with a Wii (got it on release date) with system menu 3.4U? I'm trying to unbrick my wii, and save for sending it in to nintendo, this seems like my only option.by seek - Offtopic
Well, I tried savemii with Punchout, hasn't worked so far. The thing is, the slot led is lighting up, so the Wii is still recognizing internet updates. Is there any way at all to install those without booting into the system menu?by seek - FixMii
Are you sure about that? The system files are corrupted, and as far as I've read this can potentially be fixed by reinstalling the system menu. At any rate, I'd still like to give it a try.by seek - FixMii
I've got a banner bricked Wii, and the only way I can see of fixing it is to wait for a legit title with sm4.0 on it and trying savemii. However, I don't know of any games that have the update included on them. Can anyone help me out? Thanks!by seek - FixMii
Yeah, unfortunately I have sm 3.4, and I don't think any modchips support that. If anyone knows of any that do, I'd try that route. Otherwise, I'm just waiting for a title to be released with the 4.0 update on it so I can try the savemii method with that.by seek - BootMii Beta
I've been waiting for this for a while now, but I realized that it might not actually be of any help to me. My system files have been corrupt for some time now. I can't boot into the system menu, but is there any way I can install this or otherwise make use of it to bypass the sm and boot to homebrew?by seek - BootMii Beta
I am now convinced that, whether this was originally Nintendo's strategy or not, the Wii is not built to be one's 'primary' gaming console. It is more or less an entertaining supplement to the real gaming consoles. My observation is that Nintendo has exited the mainstream console tripartite and is now in the toy market. Now, I don't necessarily attribute this shift allby seek - Offtopic
I'll preface this by saying that I've minimal programming experience and none with the Wii. I just thought it would be useful if someone developed an app that would remove a bottleneck of the browser channel, mainly its small cache size. I'm not sure if this would even be possible, but if enough people have experienced memory issues with the browser then it might be useful. Justby seek - Homebrew General
So fortune has smiled on me this day. I was going to start the process of shipping my Wii to Nintendo to have them look at it, but that may not be necessary- glorious system menu 4.0 has graced this land. So, when can I expect this to be included in games? I'll try the savemiifrii method as soon as I can and report back on whether it worked or not.by seek - Offtopic
OK, so I'm on spring break now, back home with my Wii. I see that 3.5 still hasn't come Stateside yet, which kind of sucks. I was thinking though, are there any other Wii titles that I could try to boot to that would initiate an update of any kind in the Wii's memory? Doesn't Mario Kart install a channel or something? I guess I'm just wondering if it has to be a gameby seek - Offtopic
Well, that's unfortunate, but not unexpected. It's just a business strategy; if your product cant make it through the marketing ocean, then hitch on to a vessel that can and get a free ride. However, seeing as how Nintendo makes a profit on each and every Wii console they sell, I don't think they're sweating this too much. Compared with Sony in the last generation this kindby seek - Offtopic
