This is a betwiin bug, I had the same problem. Just copy the first 1081344 bytes from the good backup over the generated backup then try to restore.by vola - FixMii
Wii sport resort has 3.4 update in it (at least for pal). For run an autoboot disk you need a modchip, anyway there is a possibility that the wii has already a modchip in it with update blocker function active...by vola - FixMii
Il your bootmii loads on startup you can convert another dump compatible dump for your wii with betwiin. Look at this forum for details.by vola - FixMii
If you don't have a working backup there's no way to recover the console with infectus. Since bootmii can't be installed as boot2 you can't install it in any way.by vola - FixMii
QuoteJerkmonster86Hi Everyone. I've been doing some research into my problems but I can't seem to find anyone with similar problems, so here goes. I'm running System Menu 3.4U and HBC 1.0.3 (no bootmii yet), only really using the HBC to run Gecko codes for Smash Bros, as well as some emulation. It seems that my Wii has slowly become more corrupt over the past few months. Initby vola - FixMii

You need an extra wire for connect Data 0 to ground, you can add a button to push during startup.by vola - FixMii
You have to pull to ground D0 (Data - 0 on infectus board) during the first seconds of console powerup. This is needed only for make the wii stop reading and writing nand. I don't think this is related to detect problem... your infectus is updated and programmes as nand programmer?by vola - FixMii
Use this software for flashing: the infectus software is full of bugs... Also if your backup is from bootmii 0.1 or 0.2 you have to strip out the last 1024 bytes from tha nand.bin If is from bootmii 0.3 or 04 just use nanb.bin as is.by vola - FixMii
Actually only with a nand programmer. Wait few days, I think a new hackmii installer will come out...by vola - FixMii
you can also search for a working backup from another wii and convert for your console with betwiinby vola - FixMii
If you want send me: - the keys.bin from donor console - the last 1024 bytes of your backup copied into separate file. so I can help you to check if the keys are correct. betwiin process is working well? did you receive some error?by vola - FixMii
I explained this in the links above, anyway you can find the thing at this positions (you must use an hex editor) - 144h (21000144h in nand.bin) => nand hmac (20 bytes) - 158h (21000158h in nand.bin) => nand_key (16 bytes)by vola - FixMii
Little confusion there, maybe You have 2 different version of bootmii on the consoles. input/flash.bin --- complete 553,648,128 byte file nand.bin from donor image OK input/nand-hmac ---- genereted from source image? EXTRACT FROM DONOR KEYS.BIN input/nand-key ---- generated from source image? EXTRACT FROM DONOR KEYS.BIN input/keys.bin ---- as produced by BootMii on donor wii NOT NEEDEDby vola - FixMii
Pay attention at beta3 backups, in this case you have 2 files a nand.bin and keys.bin. Just extract the key and hmac from keys.bin. In this case also nand.bin doesn't contain the keys, check the size must be 553,648,128 bytes without key footer and 553,649,152 with key footer.by vola - FixMii
QuoteCIsorthanks for the reply. Can you explain what should be in the nand-key and nand-hmac? I can't find much detailed documentation of this Thank you CIsor the files must contains the key and hmac of your console (output directory) and for the donor console (input directory). You have to extract these keys from the bootmii backup. read this post for locate the data:by vola - FixMii
Maybe you are just unlucky for have a bad block on an important file. Double check the nand-key and nand-hmac on the output dir.by vola - FixMii
Ok... so you can try to use savemii and boot an autoboot disk. It will require a modchip installed. If this don't work the last chance is to flash bootmii inside the nand flash and then convert a working a backup for your wii. To do this you need a nand programmer, like infectus. It's quite hard to install and needs soldering skills.by vola - FixMii
But actually do you have a working drive on the console or the dead drive? Swap the drive with another wii if you can, or try to disconnect the drive from the console.by vola - FixMii
I compared a xyzzy export with my bootmii backup, and I can confirm PRNG (rng_key) starts at position 168h (16 bytes). If you want to run xyzzy you can reinstall a vurnerable version of IOS36by vola - FixMii

Bootmii appends a 1024 byte footer in the nand.bin or in version 0.3 in a separate keys.bin file. This footer or file contains all the keys and info for your console, the same infos of xyzzy output. By the way the structure of this key is not very readable :) Once you have this 1024 bytes, with an hex editor you can extract the keys, starting at position 100h you can look at this structby vola - FixMii
Yes, you need to install infectus to flash back your nand...by vola - FixMii
No, I think your are ok, the problem start with serial LU64+by vola - FixMii
You cannot use the clip since is made for place infectus as drive modchip. In this case infectus is used as nand flash reader and not for play backup :) You have to mount the chip in this way: Also note that if your wii has less than 1 year of life there's a risk you can't install bootmii and you have no way for recover.by vola - FixMii
Look at the distrubutors page if there's someone can ship internationalby vola - FixMii
Formatting the console will not change your console keys or delete bootmii in any way... formatting will only clear out all savegames / mii and settings, I don't think will be very useful. Try to search for an update from internet, maybe some previous installation went wrong....by vola - FixMii
