what shell are you talking about? Is it programmers notepad? If so, try opening and closing it and that should reset the shell, and maybe it will work.by g_man - Getting Started
QuoteMagil I'm paranoid like most people about System Updates and suchI don't believe that they even have the ability to do this with their software, or the legal authority. As with bg4545, I don't think there is a point to giving your console a nickname. Even when you recvieve a message from a friend, sender listed is whatever you typed into your address book.by g_man - Homebrew General
The only way that your wii would break while updating boot2 is if you lose power. No homebrew tool is any safer than nintendo's tools. Just make sure that you dont updating your wii during a thunderstorm and you'll be fineby g_man - Homebrew General
First, if your being paranoid about nintendo finding you using homebrew while on the internet, don't worrie about it. As long as you don't use any cheats then they will never find out. As for your second question, I don't believe that can be changed as the name is most likely hardcoded into the system.by g_man - Homebrew General
actually, the HBC Id is 0x00010001AF1BF516. I believe you use it in the Wii_LaunchTitle() function, but I'm not sure.by g_man - Coding
benjamines, Try running the savegame manager through smashstack first, because I can't see anywhere that say it requires a custom IOS. If it doesn't then no traces will be left on either wii. If it does, then the application will just fail to work, still nothing left behind.by g_man - Getting Started
Are you sure your computer is actually connecting? I know I've had trouble before with connect exiting before it actually connects. Then it seems like it connects, but it really doesn't, leaving your wii without anything to connect to. Make sure your connect function on your PC server looks something like this: if(listen(mySocket,1)!=SOCKET_ERROR){ //Listen and wait for incoming conby g_man - Coding
I have a problem in my game that I have been stumbling over for quite a while, but I just can't seem to figure it out. I'm getting a NaN value for reasons I can't seem to find. I made a program to send a bunch a variables to my computer, and I even stepped through the program, and no luck. I ended up with a real number. Here is the code that does most of the computations. The funcby g_man - Coding
It didn't work for me either. Could the problem be the system menu, and HBC version. If it helps, I believe I am running 4.1(I forget where to find this out) and my HBC version is 1.0.8by g_man - Homebrew Applications
I figured it out. All I had to do was pass a pointer to a bullet object, and not a bullet itself.by g_man - Coding
I've been having a lot of issues with code dumps in my code, and I don't really know all the reasons why they would happen. I have a slight idea, but I was wondering if I could get a concrete answer to the question, what can cause a code dump. Examples would be nice also. Thank youby g_man - Coding
For apps to install, get the homebrew browser. It will let you install a plethera of other apps right on your wii.by g_man - Getting Started
I don't think the problem could be in resetBullet, because the same exact function is called whenever the ball exits the screen, or hits a planet, and there isn't a problem in any of those levels. But just to be sure, here it is: void bullet::resetBullet(float initX,float initY,float initspeed, float initangle, float initaccel, float initaccelAng){ X=initX; Y=initY; speed=initspeeby g_man - Coding
After hours of working on the code to detected when the ball hits a wall at any angle, I finaly got it oo work, but now I am getting an odd problem. Whenever I put a wall in a level in my game, the wii crashes when I finish the level. I have traced the crash as far as I could, and found out that this only happens when I call my wallDistance function. I have looked at the code, and non of it looksby g_man - Coding
QuoteQuoteg_manIf it was server side, then why would the wii need to be informed about it? I have no idea what you mean by this.Oh, I meant that if the server was being updated, then why would the wii care?by g_man - Homebrew General
QuoteAxel For a 256 MB RAM PC, 8 MB of VRAM sounds pretty possible, leaving only 256-8=248 MB of actual RAM available. Still, 256MB of memory is tiny, and is too small to run any semi modern computer. Also, I looked up his video card, and it takes a minimum of 512MB to run.by g_man - Offtopic
Could the patch be stored in a save file, then loaded every time, or would that not work at all. Then again, if the the save file was deleted, so would the patch.QuoteSifJarIt is most likely server side fixes I reckonIf it was server side, then why would the wii need to be informed about it?by g_man - Homebrew General
do you have the newest version of wii 64?by g_man - Homebrew Applications
you don't need to buy the game, you just need to rent it.by g_man - Getting Started
put the connect part in a while loop until it connectsby g_man - Coding
Read up on bsd sockets. It is the exact same thing as the wii sockets. By looking at your code, you don't know them. Once you can make a few socket examples on your pc then the only difference is all of the wii functions add net_ to the beginning of the function name.by g_man - Coding
can we see that code, and also show the makefile.by g_man - Coding
Ok, I'm really mad at myself now. The reason nothing was showing up was because the text color was set to black, the same as the background. On another note, thank you for helping me throughout this problem. I appreciate it. EDIT: I was wondering if you could help me with one more unrelated problem. As you can see from this picture: the numbers don't line up. I was wondering ifby g_man - Coding
That didn't change anything. :( Here is my entire code for that function: void displayLevelList(GameWindow *gwd){ ir_t ir; Image baseButtonaImg; Image baseButtonbImg; Sprite baseButton[30]; LayerManager manager(40); Image buttonPlusImg; Image buttonMinusImg; Sprite buttonPlus; Sprite buttonMinus; Rectangle *collisionRect; Image ptrImg; Sprite ptrSpr;by g_man - Coding
it works almost exactly the same as bsd sockets. Look up those and then try writing your code.by g_man - Coding
Have you written any of the code yet? If so can we see it? It will be more benifitial to you if you edit your existing code, than sombeody gives you working code.by g_man - Coding
I have good news and bad news The good news: Thanks, my code is running now!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D The bad news: None of the numbers are showing up on the screen :( I have removed anything that might be above them, but that doesn't make a difference. here is the code: int totalLevels =5; int i; char temp[5]; char buffer; ftImage *const levelNumTxt = (ftImage *)buffer;by g_man - Coding
