Problem solved. After uninstalling HBC, updating to the enhanced version of 4.3U, formatting system memory, and reinstalling HBC, I can go to the stage select screen just fine. Looks like Mestizo was right: the enhanced 4.3U update really does make HBC run better (he said faster, but that's still in the better category, right?)! Maybe it had something to do with IOS 58 being updated?by nintendude - Getting Started
QuoteAxelPress Home at HBC, and it will show you an option to launch bootmii. Make sure you have a SD prepared with bootmii files inserted, otherwise your Wii will hang up with black screen when you select it. Where do I get the files or do I already have them with the latest HBC?by nintendude - Getting Started
"Nothing else than a normal SD card from Sandisk, just white and 'officially licensed by Nintendo', but that means nothing really."?! I have one of those and, I gotta tell ya, it gives you the sense that you bought official hardware! ;) It makes HBC run SO MUCH more efficiently that I feel sorry for those who don't use it! :P The Sandisk SD Card For Wii: the official SD card ofby nintendude - Getting Started
QuoteSifJarIf you have installed the latest HBC, or even just run the latest HackMii Installer, BootMii/IOS is already installed. It's installed automatically by HackMii Installer 0.6+. Ok, so how would I access it or is it something that just runs in the background?by nintendude - Getting Started
Quotebg4545Quotejbc007Also, you can run MINI applications from it (there are very few of these). ...very few of these so far. So, as an average user who uses HBC for Gecko OS, should I even bother? I heard that there could be a certain level of risk involved with installing BootMii as an IOS with official updates (or perhaps that's with BootMii as a boot2...).by nintendude - Getting Started
Quotejbc007Try downgrading IOS 36. It is easiest to do this with DOP-Mii. How would I go about doing that?by nintendude - Getting Started
So is there really any point whatsoever to installing BootMii as an IOS, then? I'm interested in doing it myself, but I would like to know (in plain terms) what, if any, benefits would come from doing so.by nintendude - Getting Started
Sorry to bump this thread, but I would like to know if you guys know of a workaround that will help me fix this problem or if there is one that is being worked on, as this seems to be a problem that is effecting more than just me. Also, I re-worded my last post slightly to (hopefully) clarify the exact circumstances of the problem that I'm facing.by nintendude - Getting Started
QuoteAxelWhat app are you using for loading the codes and the games? Riivolution? Gecko OS? some other? What version of it are you using? Does your game play fine if you run it normally without the codes? I'm using Gecko OS 1.9.3.1 (off the top of my head, I just downloaded it the other day). SSBB plays just fine without any of the codes. Additionally, it's worth mentioning that havinby nintendude - Getting Started
* A little note before my question: Yes, it's me again. I'm sure you see the post made halfway or so down the page about me uninstalling HBC. Well, long story short, I found that I'd rather have it than not. I was better off just leaving it on my Wii to begin with.* I have a 4.3U Wii (not the new version, but the older one from June) and I managed to install HBC (once again, forby nintendude - Getting Started
I finished "properly" uninstalling HBC and formatted my Wii's memory a few hours ago. Thanks for all of the help!by nintendude - Getting Started
Thanks! And the same goes with any possible remnants of the once installed, but "properly" uninstalled DVDx? I'm asking because of jbc007's comment on newer versions the installer not being able to uninstall older versions of DVDx. And, in my case on that comment, I installed and uninstalled DVDx with the Bannerbomb v1 installer back on system menu 4.0U. I'm assuming I should be saby nintendude - Getting Started
Basically, just to review and confirm, all I have to do to remove HBC is to use the Bannerbomb v2 installer and choose to uninstall it, right? Additionally, to remove any remaining traces of HBC usage (which should only be message board history after uninstalling, if I'm not mistaken) is to format system memory, thus wiping everything on the hard drive, including said remnants of HBC, correcby nintendude - Getting Started
Quotecactusjack901I also have one other question, why do you wanna delete the homebrew channel? I want to delete HBC simply because I'm done with (and tired of) it. I just don't want it anymore, it's not worth having it for me any longer. Also, O_O @ your post count! :Pby nintendude - Getting Started
Quotejbc007Also, keep in mind that the Hackmii Installer 0.5 and newer can't delete the old DVDx. Also, I'm not sure whether the newer Hackmii Installer can delete the ticket from HBC 1.0.4 or older, but it definitely leaves it when updating to the latest HBC (although it does delete the old HBC itself). I actually wanted to go the route I mentioned, so how can I do it?by nintendude - Getting Started
How do I uninstall HBC completely? Last time I checked, I have to go through the installer, select 'Uninstall Homebrew Channel' and then it will not only delete HBC from my Wii but also delete the ticket it leaves behind, thus "properly" removing its existance which basically almost completely erases any trace that it was on my Wii, if I'm not mistaken. As I'm sure many of you already know, Apple today announced a tablet device called the iPad. What are your thoughts on it? I personally think that it's an over-sized iPod Touch (or iPhone if you get one with 3G connectivity), even though I can see it as Apple's answer to a netbook. Ok, I don't care too much about the "no white out" code, just the one where you stay size after a victory pose and move around after said pose. Is that at all possible?by nintendude - Getting Started
I want a code to not have the stage and characters white out so that I can get great screenshots for pictures and machanimation. As for the code to let you move around after victory posing and staying size, well, I want to be able to move around after doing a victory pose and not reset to 1.0 size if my character's size is altered. Are any of the 2 possible?by nintendude - Getting Started
So there's no such code to not make everything whited out when you zoom out far? For the second code, I'm talking about on a real stage, not the results screen. Also, I posted this same question on the Wiird forums and I'm going to check to see if I got an answer.by nintendude - Getting Started
I know that this forum (or pretty much any forum) on this site doesn't deal with this type of stuff generally, but perhaps you guys can help me out with finding 2 codes for SSBB: Is there a code that lets you zoom out with the unrestricted pause/game camera that doesn't fade everything to white? Simple question: should I get a PS3? I've been a Nintendo fan for practically my whole life (and will continue to be so), but I was thinking of getting another game system. QuoteMyrmidon83Thanks for the reassurance. :) I'm tempted to update also, wanna download the new contra on wiiware. No problem! I'm always glad to ease the nerves of others who are nervous about upadates as I was. I thought to myself "Screw using alternate methods to get past the official update just so I can use basic things like the Wii Shop Channel!". I updated my Wii to 4.2U about 2 weeks ago and I haven't had any problems with anything. Make sure that you updated HBC to the latest version (which I believe is 1.0.6). So basically, there's no real reason to update to 4.2 right now? There's no actual improvements that 4.2 brings to Wii as Nintendo claims (even though it sounds like the new update makes things worse rather than better)? Especially if there's a chance that my Wii will brick, which I don't want, then I'll probably wait. I won't be needing the Wii shop channel in the nby nintendude - Homebrew General
Wow! It's been a few months since I've posted or even read anything here or about HBC in general (I've been VERY busy these past few months)! Anyway, as soon as I saw my Wii's blue pulsating light and read the upadate message, I knew to pretend that the 'Update' button wasn't there and check here first to see what's going on.
