The installation/exploits are written to the Wii's NAND. Also, if you run a game through GeckoOS in the Homebrew Channel, the playlogs (which can not be deleted except by a Wii format) will say "Homebrew Channel". Unless someone can make something that will mask everything, your Wii will never see Nintendo from the very second you were asked to load boot.dol/elf and said "Yes".by Mestizo - Homebrew General
I was planning on getting more Wii points before Saturday for a monthly gaming exhibition with my Wii and Dreamcast, but don't want to update to risk losing Homebrew Channel. I heard a lot about WiiSCU to update the shop channel to allow the newest Shop Channel build to work on 4.2 A few questions 1. My Wii only has HBC (No BootMii as IOS or Trucha). Do I need to do anything before usingby Mestizo - Getting Started
I'm curious, buho. I'm getting that game in a few hours. Did the update knock out HBC?by Mestizo - Getting Started
QuotePatcheresuGood news! Placing a piece of hard metals(screwdriver) and your fingers on the other side will pop that baby right out! SD Card still works but I'm relying on my USB for I dun wan mah SD card to beez ate agunz. Use tweezers next time. That much force on such a little piece of hardware could damage it or, if your finger/screwdriver slipped, the sync button, the Wii, the diskby Mestizo - Getting Started
I think AnyTitle Deleter gets rid of those. Me, I just moved them (Forecast, News, Photo, and Mii) over to the 4th page.by Mestizo - Homebrew General
My HBC is 1.0.6, IOS61 v21.29 I installed it back in early December, when I got the Wii (I think it was the 6th or 7th) Should I be ok?by Mestizo - Getting Started
QuoteWaxyPumpkin72QuoteMestizoI've read a few posts on here about SMG2 deleting the Homebrew Channel and rumors that it disables re-installation. Is that true? Source? Kinda weird you asking that when you were one of the people posting in that topic, Waxy.by Mestizo - Getting Started

Are you using the Bannerbomb v2 method?by Mestizo - Getting Started
You need some homebrew in the SD:\apps\ folder.by Mestizo - Getting Started
Try re-syncing the remote, using a different remote, or using a Classic Controller. Unless it's also an issue in any homebrew game that requires motion control, there's nothing wrong with it.by Mestizo - Getting Started
Playing an emulator with a keyboard got old once they started making USB connectors for older controllers and gamepads designed like a PS2 controller. Anyway, I say "multiple save slots" for if someone else has data they'd like to save, or if I have multiple multi-player save data I'd like to keep.by Mestizo - Homebrew Applications
Not within the Homebrew Channel, sadly. Only official way to transfer a Pokemon from Sapphire to Coliseum is to play it on an actual cartridge or a flash kart and connect the GBA to the Wii via the GBA - GCN cable.by Mestizo - Homebrew Applications
Is the remote an official Nintendo remote? I've heard problems that third-party remotes, like the Nyko Wand, have sync issues. Try re-syncing the remote or change the batteries.by Mestizo - Homebrew General
Regardless of hardware failure, if there is ANY trace of homebrew, they WILL return it to you. If they fixed the problem and then found the homebrew (which is unlikely, since they have a special tool to scan the Wii), then they would most likely inform you that they will NOT return the Wii, since it is faulty and the fact that it has homebrew.by Mestizo - Homebrew General
I also said to disable internet. Disable any internet connections and unplug any USB thing in the Wii before reinstalling. Also, make sure there's no disk in the Wii.by Mestizo - Getting Started
He's trying to run BootMii through the Homebrew Channel. Few things you gotta know, though. First, you need a Gamecube controller to control within BootMii. Second, BootMii has very little functioning in IOS form.by Mestizo - Getting Started
What system menu are you using? Anything 3.2 or newer has disabled the Twilight Hack. If you're above 3.2, use Bannerbombby Mestizo - Homebrew General
Regardless, you interrupted an update, which means the Wii itself will not work. If it's a new Wii, you might be able to return it for a replacement/refund from the store you bought it from. Just, for future reference, NEVER do ANYTHING during an update. If you remove the NAND, The Wii will NOT work, period. The NAND is the Wii's internal memory, which also stores necessary data, likby Mestizo - Getting Started
I just tried that out with both games. That might be a typo, and it also doesn't work in FCEU. Best option would be to play with a Classic Controller or a Gamecube controller, or maybe Nunchuck.by Mestizo - Homebrew Applications
For official means, the only way to watch a DVD on a Wii is with the Netflix disk. I don't use my Wii as a DVD player (since I have a VCR/DVD player and a PS2), so I can't help you with that part.by Mestizo - Homebrew General
For future reference, if something electronic requires an update, do NOT do ANYTHING to it during the update process unless it tells you to (remove a disk, disable internet, turn it off, etc). Electrical equipment that requires data to run will corrupt the data if anything interferes, resulting in it's inoperability. Normally, I would recommend calling Nintendo about fixing it, but, sinceby Mestizo - Getting Started
Then you might need to use Dop-Mii to reinstall IOS 36. Just be careful using this, as this has the potential to brick your Wii. Also, have you registered your Wii for internet or WiiConnect24? Turn WC24 off and disable the internet during the installation, as I've heard that can cause problems for the installation. Try disabling internet access on your Wii before using Dop-Mii, andby Mestizo - Getting Started
I just use the Wii remote for FCEU and VBA and the Classic Controller for Snes9x. If you want to play with the CC, hold the right stick to the right. That's the turbo mode. You should also be able to re-map the controls, but the default is good, since I only use VBA to play Mother 3 and Shantae. Also, the Turbo Mode only works for as long as you hold the buttons/direction. If you hear a sby Mestizo - Homebrew Applications
Sounds like you tried to install Homebrew Channel through an alternate mean or a modified version of Hackmii, a needed IOS, or Bannerbomb. Use Hackmii v0.6 and Bannerbomb v2. Use this guideby Mestizo - Getting Started
Usually, I hear the HBC sometimes gets installed upside-down, but it sounds like you're saying the X and Y axis went reversed. Are you sure your sensor bar's not upside-down, or anything nearby (clock, candle, etc) might be interfering with the signal?by Mestizo - Getting Started
The Nyko Wand wasn't made for Homebrew in mind. Also, the Nyko Wand has had known issues with normal Wiis (losing sync when the Wii is unplugged, not syncing at all, etc)by Mestizo - Homebrew General
I haven't had any problems with it. Except, lately, whenever I boot up Snes9x to play a 2-player game, I have to tell the other player to not touch anything until I load the game up. I use Classic Controllers and, since I got a Classic Controller Pro, the remotes sometimes switch between P1 and P2 when in the menu.by Mestizo - Homebrew Applications
It is illegal for a company to threaten to brick their products because of consumer editting that doesn't originally harm the unit. It's just a scare tactic to try to guilt-trip the people who installed HBC. Just update. I've also heard GeckoOS can't skip that update, too. If it does remove the Homebrew Channel, just reinstall it.by Mestizo - Getting Started
Quotecactusjack901QuoteMestizoUse Bannerbomb v2 (it works for the other Wii firmwares). If you wait until after you update, you may need to use DOP-IOS to install HBC. I updated to 4.2 from 4.0 when I got my Wii and installed HBC with no problems, same day I got it. Updated from 4.2 to 4.0? That'd be a downgrade, and downgrade = bad idea with the Wii Read it again.
