Well the "Ignore Standby" setting just keeps the Wii from entering Standby Mode when you turn it off. This means that it is not using Wiiconnect24 while it is turned off. As soon as you turn the Wii on, it will try to connect again. This shouldn't cause you any trouble, but if you absolutely NEED to have the Wii using Wiiconnect24 when it's turned off, you can change the Preloader seby MattMan - Offtopic

Don't install the Internet Channel this way! It is illegal and you should just buy it from the Wii Shop Channel.by MattMan - The Junkyard
Yeah, that's because you need a trucha enabled IOS 36. There is no legal way to achieve this on System Menu 4.0 right now, sorry.by MattMan - Homebrew General
Perhaps someone knows of a way to alter his NAND backup and remove the file that is causing problems? (It may be easier to do on a computer)by MattMan - FixMii
The 'E' means you have a European Wii, the 'U" means you have an American Wii, and the 'J' means you have a Japanese Wii. Also, upgrading to System Menu 4.0 really won't cause you to lose any features. You will only gain new ones. The Homebrew Channel, DVDx, BootMii and all other homebrew games will still be capable of being installed and will continue to work oby MattMan - Getting Started
Yes, I'm sure. System Menu 4.0 will only disable the Twilight Hack and DVDx Installer 3.4. You can use BannerBomb and the HackMii Installer instead to achieve the same thing. All other homebrew will still work. If you were using System Menu 3.2, I would recommend not upgrading, because you would lose fakesigning capabilities. But because you are on 3.4, you will only gain new features.by MattMan - Getting Started
Your first method seems the easiest to me, but I can't seem to find a program that will patch IOS 36. Also, I don't know where to locate IOS 36 in the NAND or how to find the version number and change it, so I would need instruction there if I were to perform your second method. They both sound possible though; I hope someone can supply more information.by MattMan - Homebrew Applications
Also, you may as well update to System Menu 4.0. You wouldn't lose the Homebrew Channel or any significant features. This would allow you to use the Wii Shop Channel and use the new SDHC features offered by System Menu 4.0.by MattMan - Getting Started
Okay, darn. There ought to be a way to install a trucha IOS 36 before updating. I guess I'll just restore with BootMii. That makes me wonder just how you're supposed use Preloader on System Menu 4.0. It seems that you would need to use Wankinoko's updater, which I know Wiibrew dislikes. So why does Wiibrew support Preloader 0.29 when you can't update through Nintendo andby MattMan - Homebrew Applications
When you open your SD card on your computer, make sure that the apps folder is visible without opening any other folders. Also make sure that the data folder is visible without opening any folders. If it isn't like this, I would recommend deleting everything on your SD card, just to make it easier. Once you do this, download supersonic wii again. Now open the .zip file and drag the appsby MattMan - Getting Started
I used WiiSCU to patch the trucha bug into IOS 60, IOS 61, IOS 16, and IOS 38 (all the IOSes capable of being installed by WiiSCU) on a different Wii. Then I installed Preloader no problem. Next I updated to System Menu 4.0, which ended up overwriting Preloader. So I tried to reinstall Preloader and the following error came up: "Failed to get ROOT, current IOS(36) has the fakesign bug fixed."by MattMan - Homebrew Applications
The freezing up may be caused by bannerbomb. Since you already have the Homebrew Channel installed, I would recommend deleting all the bannerbomb files. This should allow you to access the SD Menu. To get Supersonic Wii to show up in the Homebrew Channel, you should make sure that the Supersonic Wii folder is in the apps folder and that the data folder is on the root of your SD card (this meanby MattMan - Getting Started
Mainly to not be at the mercy of Nintendo Updates. For example, if Nintendo were to come up with a homebrew disabling update that also updated the Wii Shop Channel, I would be able to use WiiSCU to update my Wii Shop Channel while keeping homebrew. Also to disable disk updates with Preloader, so when newer games are released with future updates, I will be able to play them without disabling anyby MattMan - Homebrew General
All right, so is there a legal way to obtain a trucha IOS on System Menu 4.0?by MattMan - Homebrew General
Is it possible to install a previous version of an IOS obtained via WUFE on System Menu 4.0, so as to enable fakesigning? Please explain why or why not and describe the process if it is possible and legal.by MattMan - Homebrew General
Yes, I was just curious. Thanks for the information, I am actually on system menu 3.2 with BootMii and Preloader installed. I use Preloader for the "hacks.ini" and definitely think that BootMii is more useful. But my friend is on 4.0 and I didn't want to damage his Wii. Purely informational question, thank you.by MattMan - Homebrew Applications
Okay, but wouldn't updating just replace the patched IOS 60 or 61? And I'm pretty sure that WiiSCU doesn't work on system menu 4.0, so you wouldn't be able to install the patched IOS after updating. And what if you are already on system menu 4.0? Would you be able to install preloader then?by MattMan - Homebrew Applications
From my understanding, preloader 0.29 is compatible with system menu 4.0. Now, I would interpret this as: "preloader can be installed on system menu 4.0." If this is true, why does the article on wiibrew state that preloader requires an IOS that accepts fake signatures?by MattMan - Homebrew Applications
