so wait... component doesn't work when you stick a load of pins and paper clips into the back of the wii...not really surprising, I'd go ahead and buy the actual cable before worrying about how to fix it, much more likely to damage it even more trying to fix it (if it's even damaged at all)by shawabawa - Hardware

I was wondering how much of a challenge it would be to port a JVM to the Wii... I found this online, it's designed to be very portable and is primarily designed for PPC, I understand it will still probably be an incredibly difficult task, but would be very nice if it could be done... no they updated the shop servers to stop you having multiple accounts, in my case I somehow got stuck with an undeletable US account so I can't switch back to PAL :/by shawabawa - Software

Sorry if this is really naive but how exactly does wc24 work? As far as I understand (can't remember where I read any of this so sorry if it's completely wrong): 1. power off wii 2. checks if wc24 is on, if yes 3. Restarts system menu in wc24 mode 4... When I got my wii it was US region, apparently I visited the shop channel (I think I loaded it, it told me to update and I quit), I then switched my console region to EU and now the shop channel gives me error code 205958, which I googled and it seems it's when you sign in to the shop channel and then change your region. I'm using bootmii as IOS, and when I removed the SD card and pressed the SD icon on the main bootmii menu, it came up with "Failed to read dir" then a prompt "->" No button on the GC controller, or power/reset/eject did anything.by shawabawa - BootMii Beta

If you have had the channel installed before you upgraded to 4.0 you can get it running off the sd card, so get the same version of hbc that you installed before, and you should be able to use that to downgrade your IOSs and then downgrade your system menuby shawabawa - Getting Started

Nintendo have said a lot of the early release drives have problems with dual layer discs, as brawl is the only dual layer game out atm (I think) it makes sense it would only screw up with brawl. If you didn't have a mod-chip you could have sent it back for a free replacement, but unfortunately you'll probably have to pay quite a bit. The alternative is if you have homebrew channel,by shawabawa - FixMii

If wiiconnect24 can load the system menu, surely that means if you have a preloader it loads that instead? And if that's the case would it be possible for the preloader to check it's being run by wc24 (as the system menu does) and then run a different .dol based on that? I'm asking because I think it'd be sweet to have FTPii run instead of whatever wc24 runs edit: well I juby shawabawa - Software

Hi, I recently got a wii off my friend, he bought it in Hong Kong and these are the things I know about the wii: 1. When I got it it had homebrew installed 2. It doesn't have a modchip 3. When I got it it had system menu 4.0U I'm in the UK so it was a bit annoying having it think I was american, also my TV can't disply NTSC properly so everything was black and white, so I cby shawabawa - Getting Started
