I updated to 4.2 to take advantage of the 'performance improvements' and 'bug fixes.' ;)

Seriously though, I reinstalled the new HBC and BootMii (but not the new DVDX, because as far as I know the only modification there was changing the title ID.) Everything is fine.

I haven't been able to find much info about this problem on the 'net... can't find anything in this thread either. (I hope!)

I recently upgraded to System Menu 4.2E. Soon after the install, I experienced a strange issue when attempting to load retail games - I would have to wait ~10 seconds before clicking 'Start' on the Disc Channel, otherwise the Wii would restart after loading. Strangely, this has resolved itself.

However, my homebrew no longer works. HBC was not deleted, but it will not load any apps. Some will hang during the 'Loading' screen, or will hang with a black screen. All the official Nintendo products work fine - BBC iPlayer, retail games, World of Goo...

I have tried removing HBC and re-installing with Bannerbomb v2. This failed with the same issue. I have never installed BootMii. I have a late-2008 model Wii.

Any help getting my NetHack to work again is appreciated. Thanks in advance,

Which apps don't work?

Every one I've tried so far, unfortunately. Anything I can try to check if it's the apps that are the problem?

Hmmm. Just opened my SD card in Windows Explorer and found that somehow half the directories have been corrupted. I have no idea if this was the Wii or not...

Format your SD card, the file system is in horrendous shape.

The card itself might be bad, too.

Yeah... I formatted my card, reloaded HackMii and some apps. Thankfully I was able to get most of the important data off it, and the card is working fine now.

I'm not sure what caused it... I doubt it was the Nintendo update. :S
