When you use Dop-IOS MOD to install IOS 30 v1040, you need to make sure to choose NOT to patch IOS 30.

It's trying to apply a patch to your selected IOS. You should be instructing it not to do that - that way you wont get failures.

I had the exact same problem. Can't install HBC, hash BAD, etc.

(It probably wasn't the smartist thing to do, but...) I used AnyRegion Changer to downgrade to 3.2, and it's working fine now. I wouldn't really recommend it, as there's probably better ways, but it might be a good last resort.

EDIT: Oh, wait, you already figured it out

I also joined the 'clever' Nintendo upgrade club, but I added my touch by formatting the wii after that in a futile attempt of getting it back to factory state. By reading this thread I managed to solve it. So thanks everybody, specially to Arikado for his hard work. Below are the results I got using Arikado's Dop-ios MOD trial 13 ( the normal version bugged showing the blurry screen). I solved it by reinstalling an old version of IOS36 from IOS250

Regards!!

unloadable IOS: 60, 222, 223, 249

36 30 ES_AddContentStart 000000010000001e failed -1017

upps, it trimmed the white spaces. I think it is still readable. However 'pantalla borrosa' means blurry screen in spanish :P

Hi coriscow,

First of all, thanks a ton for the detailed feedback on Dop-IOS MOD. This will help me help people solve their problems. Again, thanks :-)

Secondly, in the future, be aware that there's an edit button that you can use to edit your posts if you want.

Regards,
Arikado

Hey, Arikado! I admire your work and the effort the team behind DOP-IOS Mod has done. Just wanted to mention that. I also can't recover my homebrew or anything now. I was foolish to try a "fresh start" with update 4.2U. I did it 'cause I began to experience freezing problems and got tired of reading that I had a "system" with corrupted files. That was annoying, but at least everything still worked.

I thank you and anyone here in advance for any input that can be of help. As I said, everything has been wiped out, I don't even have my SD card which contained all my files necessary to run homebrew apps-no homebrew channel. Can't install homebrew channel. Believe me, that I've been reading the forums for the last three to four days to find an answer to my problem to no avail. I had cioscorp installed prior to the update. This is the log I receive from HackMii:

The one thing I AM able to do is run DOP-IOS Mod through bannerbomb, once I am in there though, I am as lost as a sheep. I appreciate your time and welcome any input. Is homebrew still salvageable???

@Corisco

This seems like what I may need to do but I am not sure. I have the trial 13 dol. How do use it? Put it in the root of the SD by renaming it to boot dol??

Arikado, you DA MAN!

@Forbidden_Gundam:

Load AnyTitle Deleter through bannerbomb, and delete IOS30.

Then, load Dop-IOS MOD and reinstall the latest version of IOS30.

After that, try launching the Hackmii Installer. Does it work?

Alright, tried it. This is the message my tv displayed:

"Informing Wii That I am God...Error! ES_Identify (ret = 1017)"
Re: HackMii won´t install
October 28, 2009 05:50AM
Woops! Got some more stuff, after I hit the A button:

Initializing Filesystem driver...ok!
Wiping off fingerprints...
-Deleting ticket file / ticket/00000001/00000000.tik...
Ticket delete failed (No ticket?) -102
-Deleting title file /title/00000001/00000000...
Error! ISFS_Delete(ret = 102)

Checking system region...

Pulling Systemenu TMD...Error! SFS_Open (ret = -102)
Reading TMD failed!
Error! ES_OpenContent (ret = -1017)

What does this mean? LOL!!! AnyTitle Deleter has booted!! WaxyPumpkin72! Many thanks! This is far more than I could have accomplished alone! and thanks to the wiibrew community! I haven't gotten to the HBC yet, but this brings me joy! I'll give it a go!

Takes me back to AnyTitle Deleter's Menu : (

I tried HackMii afterwards just to find out if by some miracle it would work and it didn't.

I apologize for the overposting here, but, I did manage to make much progress in my opinion. I have now been able to install MPlayer CE as a wad by using wadmanager which booted through bannerbomb.

Still unable to install homebrew channel, but , I am very happy for now. Thanks for your patience...I'm going to bed.
Re: HackMii won´t install
October 28, 2009 10:07PM
Update: I spent about 4 to 5 hours (reading the threads, researching files, reformatting sd card, etc) and finally got HBC loaded through HackMii. AnyTitle Deleter didn't seem to do anything to help when I tried removing IOS30, but it didn't seem to affect the system menu in any negative way either.

After giving it some thought, I'd figure I try loading other apps through BannerBomb to watch what would happen (at this point, I was ready to just experiment with my Wii anyway). I found an app that worked and used IOS 250 to load try and install MPlayer CE. It worked. I also tried loading others via IOS 38 and everything was smooth sailing after that.

All apps that I have available via HBC are fully functional and there are appears to be no negative side effects. The only other thing, is that I'm only able to install BootMii as an IOS.

Good Luck everyone else and thanks again to all contributors.

The purpose of deleting IOS30 was so you could reinstall IOS30 after you'd deleted it through Dop-IOS MOD. Then, you would have a vulnerable IOS with which to run the Hackmii Installer.
