QuotehooverxlI used BootMii to softmod my Wii I suppose he may not have meant "softmod" in the pirate sense, but that's how I interpreted it.by HyperHacker - FixMii
I have wifi working on Whiite, but every several minutes or so, it disconnects: wlan0: deauthenticated from so:me:ma:ca:dd:re:ss (Reason: 2) Any way to fix this, or at very least to detect it automatically so I can have a script reconnect instead of having to do it manually every time?by HyperHacker - Wii Linux
Well as expected that trick (that I don't see how it could ever work in the first place) stopped working and now it won't read the SD card at all. That's 2 cards now, that seem to work just fine everywhere else, that HBC used to read just fine and now won't. I can't even select it on the menu. The button is disabled. But again if I remove the USB stick (which still worksby HyperHacker - Homebrew General
Yes, but if they removed the ports from Wiis, I doubt WiiU will have them either.by HyperHacker - Homebrew General
I originally had some apps installed on my SD card, and it worked fine... then I wanted to install Linux, so I moved a couple apps to a USB stick, and that worked too. However the Linux installer partitions the SD card, and HBC seems to have issues with that. When I start it up, the apps on the SD card won't appear at all, but if I start Homebrew Browser (from USB) and quit, all the apps shoby HyperHacker - Homebrew General
All I know for sure is the sensor bar takes 12V. It's nothing but a bunch of IR LEDs on a wire. Open it and see/measure for yourself.by HyperHacker - Hardware
If the power light is completely off, not even red, it's a hardware problem. The system isn't getting any power. If you're lucky it's just the power supply box or cord that needs replacing.by HyperHacker - FixMii
First pay for your games, then run the HackMii installer again. There's an option somewhere in there to prepare an SD card. That will install the files for the BootMii startup menu.by HyperHacker - FixMii
How do I access the Gamecube controller ports in Whiite? Is there a character device mapped to them?by HyperHacker - Wii Linux
Yeah, that file seems to be missing, and some genius decided not to include the files necessary to set up wifi. I had to connect my Wii via ethernet and follow the instructions: - it says wpa-supplicant can't be found either, but just leave it out. If you actually need WPA, then I guess you're screwed.by HyperHacker - Wii Linux
Are there any codes for v1.1? If you have the same code for both versions, often you can just check the difference in their address; adding that same offset to other codes will usually get them working. (At least, that was true on N64... Gamecube/Wii might be slightly more complicated since their executables have actual sections instead of just a giant blob, but it's worth a try.)by HyperHacker - Cheat Codes
The light coming on at boot is normal. If boot2 is broken, that might be the only thing your Wii does.by HyperHacker - Homebrew General
BootMii just loads a couple executables off the SD card at startup, doesn't it? (ppcboot.elf and armboot.bin if I recall correctly?) So put the homebrew channel or whatever executable there and voila, you have a menu with Wiimote support. (Disclaimer: I don't know if HBC will actually load this way.) Sucks they removed the ports though. Guess WiiU upscaling Gamecube games to 1080pby HyperHacker - Homebrew General
It was Mario Kart, which has always been just fine, but yes, it does seem to be an issue with the region hack. Starfall also refused to load for some reason until I updated it and installed BootMii, then I removed those hacks and the games start up fine. Yay.by HyperHacker - FixMii
The problem seems to be more severe than I first realized. Nothing will load in HBC; the progress stays at 0%, and network does not initialize. Yesterday's play history shows Twilight Princess for 23:59 rather than Brawl for a few hours. I'm also sometimes seeing a few pixels which flicker random colours. I already had one Wii with that pixel problem which then became severe video arby HyperHacker - FixMii
I have System Menu 3.2, HBC installed. I had applied a few patches with Starfall (kill health screen, allow copying saves) ages ago. Everything worked fine last time I used it, which would have been a few months ago. Yesterday I found I could no longer play any Gamecube games. The disc animation shows normally but when I click Start, the screen fades out and the game never starts. Power/eject butby HyperHacker - FixMii
Any time there's a new post, for about a day or two I can't reply to it. It will say I'm not logged in. Even after I log in it comes back to the post and still says I need to be logged in. I can go back to previous posts and reply but not the newest.by HyperHacker - Offtopic
Yeah, a hacked PSP is nice. Runs all sorts of emulators. There's even decent progress on N64. However if you get a newer 2000, a 3000, or a Go, then you can't yet permanently install any hacked firmware. Sony are a bunch of jerks and their software sucks, but they do make some decent hardware. You simply buy used to avoid giving your money to jerks (and to help ensure you get one oldby HyperHacker - Offtopic
I noticed the system can reboot from GC mode back to Wii mode somehow as well. Pop out Mario Kart's disc at the title screen and hit reset, IIRC. Kicks you back to the System Menu.by HyperHacker - Ideas, requests
Photo channel doesn't support SVG. :p Also you could make something with network/DVD/USB support.by HyperHacker - Ideas, requests
Quotedaniel_c_wOr are you talking about Closed Captioning? That's all they ever use it for, but I believe it's the same or similar standard. The TV I had (which AFAIK had no support for PAL) had some menu options to choose between caption 1, caption 2, and text, and the manual described "text" being news reports, weather, etc that would cover most of the screen. I never saw anything butby HyperHacker - Ideas, requests
QuotejsmasterNope because Wine Is Not an Emulator. Just porting Wine wouldn't be enough. You could run it on Linux, but I doubt it would be usable.Actually you couldn't, for the same reason. Windows only runs on x86/x64, therefore Wine only runs on said as well. You'd need an x86 emulator to run Linux to run Wine to run Windows. At that point you may as well skip the middle steps.by HyperHacker - Ideas, requests
Canada. They've had it as long as I remember. I often liked to have it on just so I didn't miss a joke due to crappy TV speakers, background noise, etc. Nearly every channel and even a fair number of ads have it.by HyperHacker - Ideas, requests
QuoteyellowstarGC DI code uses completely different register addresses than Wii register addresses.(There may be other peripherals requiring patching.) Patching would be required for GC disc games to run.Possibly just the exception handler would be enough, trapping and remapping accesses to any addresses that need it. That alone might slow down the game enough to make up for the clock speed diffeby HyperHacker - Ideas, requests
Why would they drop it? I think that would make a lot of hearing-impaired people very angry, unless they're replacing it with something better. I've heard of no such replacement.by HyperHacker - Ideas, requests
Wireless ones are terribly expensive, and I don't know if a pair of LEDs would be bright enough considering the stock one has 5 per side (and I don't have 10 laying around). I tried to make up my own plug for the stock one but it just refuses to work... is there something more to it than just connecting the pins on the inside? I don't want to go opening it (don't have the toolby HyperHacker - Ideas, requests
I've been trying to hack the sensor bar to run off a 12V power supply for using the Wiimotes with my PC, but for some reason it just refuses to work. Nintendo's changed the laws of electricity or something. The alternative is to leave the Wii on all the time I'm using it, but that just seems like a good way to waste electricity, burn out the fan, etc. Someone must be able to hackby HyperHacker - Ideas, requests
No, they didn't. Reading CDs requires a different laser. It's a physical difference between the components.by HyperHacker - Ideas, requests
