Actually my case and your case is the same. I remember doing a semi-brick upgrade from 3.2J to 3.4U but I got impatient and plug it out and back in, but it worked. Have you tried again? Probably the wii didn't hang, cause when I did it, the wii finish upgrading after a little less than half bar.by ken1121 - Getting Started
Maybe that Wii has been bricked. I thought u were supposed to load the Brew channel first before upgrading. Sorry I'm not an expert can't help u much. But I foresee that the wii cannot be fixed anymore because u neither have Brew nor bootmii (or Boot2), and no NAND backup file. Awww man u shouldn't have off the wii in the first place.by ken1121 - Getting Started
@jbc007 Yeah I think you pretty much answered my question. But how is it that homebrew still stays?by ken1121 - Getting Started
I can't say for sure but I think (think) I have a modchip installed. Japanese Wii's r cheaper than US where I come from. The place (mall) where I got it from is infamous for stuff like DS R4 Chips and so on, not that all are bad.by ken1121 - Getting Started
Also, the Homebrew Channel stays when i upgrade to 4.3by ken1121 - Getting Started
Actually it is sort of a problem.by ken1121 - Getting Started
Hello everyone! This is not a problem, I just want to know what's going on. Firstly I used DOP Mii to get 4.1J (Emphasis on J), then I accidentally upgraded to 4.3J. When I tried my US game disc which usually works,(previous my version was semi-brick 3.4U), 4.3J could not seem to read it. But when I downgraded back to 4.1J, every works fine. What's going on here? I saw a site thatby ken1121 - Getting Started
Hi! I downloaded the Mac NUS Downloader from this site: [GBAFail] but the problem is that it just isn't opening up, the dmg works fine, but the application itself... ,as I mentioned before. Has it got anything to do with key.bin, not sure what's that nor what is does. [GBAFail] (Another one, six posts from the top)(The super big one.)by ken1121 - FixMii
Goto 4.1, goto 4.1... It's da best!!!by ken1121 - FixMii
Thank you very much. Appreciated.by ken1121 - FixMii
Try downgrading to OS 4.1. Then try loading SSBB again. High chance it isn't a problem with the disc. If you have downloaded a Homebrew app and used it on your wii, then no, Nintendo does not support warranty for it now and then. Read the red box on wiibrew.org (the Homebrew itself is harmless, but check out the page of an app, you will see a red box on the right. The app apparently maby ken1121 - FixMii
By the way, I have the NUS Downloader.dmg, it's the app with the green arrow pointing down as the icon image. That's the one that is impossible to open. I tried that option alright.by ken1121 - FixMii
One thing i don't understand, isn't homebrew illegal in itself by permantly making changes to the wii NAND? What then makes this homebrew app (the one from the thing you removed) more illegal? In my opinion, people create wads, not just one person or a few people. So if its available to the general, what's the diff in creating your own and downloading off the net?by ken1121 - FixMii
Yeah it's not that hard that I know. But consider the pains that a guy on a Mac has to go through. I couldn't get the NUS downloader to open even after spamming the mouse. One question: There are legal/illegal wads?by ken1121 - FixMii
Keep this thread open, maybe some person knows how to do it the legal, legal way.by ken1121 - FixMii
As far as my understanding goes, this part of the forum is FixMii. Oh by the way, I don't see the difference between the way I do it and the way others do it. Follow a tutorial somewhere. One more thing, DOP Mii Homebrew Edition 14.5v is barely a Megabyte, the upgrade/downgrade 4.1(J/U/etc...) wad is about 27 megabytes, where on earth (or on wii or on sd card) does it get all that info from.by ken1121 - FixMii
@bg4545 I'm sorry, but I could not get passed the NUS Download part or something that has got to do with NUS WHILE OFFLINE. But after the wii became ONLINE after the hack mod, then it worked. I swear it true. (Pardon the Upper-Cases please).by ken1121 - FixMii
For all those with the "unable to access settings" problem, find something on the post above and google it. That was my BEST shot at curing the problem, without a connection. Whatever you do, do not misuse the excess file which "it" provides. WADs are indeed illegal, but it helps big time in this case.by ken1121 - FixMii
I direct this message to SifJar. Yes, I acknowledge that [REMOVED] is illegal, but consider DOP Mii. Have you ever thought of people who do not have internet connection? I have tried countless times, on different versions, no, dead zero. Only after I used that illegal software to up it to 4.1J then inadvertently up it to 4.3J was I able to use DOP Mii to downgrade to 4.1J again. The burniby ken1121 - FixMii
Never mind I solved It alreadyby ken1121 - FixMii
Urgent Edit: So sorry I just use DOP mii and i realized I had system menu 3.4 North America (U) installed.by ken1121 - FixMii
Hello everyone. Ok basically my wii is a little more than two years old, and it's a Japanese version (got it cause it was cheaper than the US version). So one day I bought this CD from God Knows Where and insert it, and this Japanese message popped up. At first I thought that it cannot play the disc because of some memory deficiency, and there was a "tong yi" (Agree) option, but no cancelby ken1121 - FixMii
