eh. The trend has been from less to more warning (newer versions have that warning that updates will screw over unauthorized software and you can hold the power button to cancel), not the reverse. I just can't imagine unattended autoupdates... what happens if you unplug the Wii with the TV off? On the other hand, it's more fun to assume (pretend, more like) that Nintendo has unlimiby comex - Software

QuotewhodaresNone. The C++ language is the same, there's no syntax differences. Devil's advocate: int x = 0xed; char y = *((char *) &x); printf("%hhx\n", y);by comex - Coding

Proposal: A version of the Twilight Hack that bundles the HBC installer, to avoid these SD issues.by comex - Homebrew General
QuoteArikadoHonestly, when I release source code I just turn my entire project folder into a .zip archive and then I upload it to mediafire and distribute the link to whoever wants it. This. If it's not a big enough project to bother with Google Code stuff, just include the source when you distribute it. No fanciness required.by comex - Coding

QuoteDrLuckywhy update to 3.4? Nintendo could brick you if they ever get really unfriendly with Wiibrew users No, they just said they could. Which is different from actually being able to do so.by comex - Homebrew General

How do you extract an ARC?by comex - Homebrew General
The HBC is not specific to any region. The Twilight Hack, however, is. Just be sure to pick the right savefile and you'll be fine. (If you pick the wrong one, you'll probably just have to reset the wii. No big deal.)by comex - Homebrew General
rm is a standard unix command to delete stuff (which is not present normally on windows). I'm not experienced with devkitpro on windows, but you may want to alter your makefile and/or use mingw/cygwin. Except you probably already are, so not sure what's up with that.by comex - Coding
Not too many 1s! They are more pointy so they will get stuck during transfer and block the 0s from getting through.by comex - Getting Started

Yeah, you didn't do anything wrong, the installer just no longer works. Basically, in order to avoid copying marcan's stuff, the installer downloaded DVDX on the fly from hackmii. marcan didn't like this, so he changed the download (compressed it with dollz, actually-- he has a sense of humor) for the purpose of disabling the installer. QuoteTheManuelI figured what it causing the issue but not why. I have an original Nintendo and a MadCatz Gamecube memory card. When I have both plugged in, the Homebrew Channel apparently "thinks" there is a USB Gecko installed and lights up the icon. Hello, Do you have any evidence of Starfall bricking Wiis? While that sort of code can in theory brick Wiis (and preloader has done...), Starfall itself has been well tested and I cannot find any reports of it doing any damage whatsoever. Although Gecko OS can skip updates a well, Starfall has the advantage that it does not require loading the Homebrew Channel every time one wants to play thby comex - Homebrew General
Homebrew including the Twilight Hack and Homebrew Channel can be used on 3.4. Just make sure you have the latest version of everything.by comex - Homebrew Applications
QuotebushingFWIW, the only time I've actually heard of a "hard" banner brick was when a banner was *almost* valid, but had an MD5 mismatch. Wait, what? Why would the menu read a file with a bad hash?by comex - Homebrew General

Quotetk007b1. Should I upgrade to 3.4 as there is a twilight version available for that ? That would be a bad idea as upgrading your Wii will block the programs you want to use.by comex - Homebrew General

I haven't used the OS X wiiload GUI, but make sure you have the right IP and that you're in the HBC (and the HBC's globe is lit up). Also, Homebrew Browser requires a SD card inserted in the Wii to use.by comex - Homebrew Applications
