QuoteNicholas_RogeI apologize if this has already been posted and replied to (if it has, I couldn't find it), but how would one go about playing .mp3's, .wav's, .avi's, .mov, etc... using homebrew? Also, rather than making a new thread, I have another (rather random) question. Is declaring char characterVariable[20]; the same thing as calling char characterVariable; charaby scanff - Coding
@Arikado I've never had any issues with the mp3 functions. I've used them in several projects.by scanff - Coding
Looking good. Would be funny to run dolphin on that thing so you can play Wii games. I doubt the graphics card would be good enough though.by scanff - Offtopic
What errors are you getting? Can you please list them so we can find a solution.by scanff - Coding

QuotedablondiThanks for the update - I'm happy to wait for the "release" version (aka I'm a bit of newbie and get a bit nervous mucking around too much with boot.dol files!). Thought I'd give it a go to edit the PLS file but not quite sure which bit needs to go in parens? This is what the PLS file currently looks like: #EXTM3U #EXTINF:-1,Centovalley - Visions Of Voodoo (Secretby scanff - Homebrew Applications
QuotedablondiDownloaded Ver 0.3 from the link here on Wiibrew (the version via the link on homebrew channel just freezes with cursor in top right corner) and now up and running on a Wii 4.0 PAL. Really cool to be able to play Shoutcast radio through the Wii - fantastic job!! Noticed there was an earlier post about wiiradio not recognising PLS files saved to the SD card from Shoutcast. Great work, we've been missing a good Amiga emulator. I have tried i with the following: Xenon 2 - works great Golden Axe - Crashes after character select (A ton of stuff is dumped to the screen - I'll see if there's an error log on the SD card) OutRun - Does not seem to get past the splash screen for some reason. Rainbow Islands - works great *Of course I've not cby scanff - Homebrew Applications

Quotetroy16dQuotescanffAs an option you can transfer Winamp PLS files to the playlist folder on the SD and listen that way. I copied .pls files to the \apps\radiow\pls folder on the sd card but they do not show up on the playlist. I saved link as .pls from shoutcast is this different than winamp .pls thanks Sorry dude another issue that's come to my attention. I will have a much improvby scanff - Homebrew Applications

Quote WiiBrew forums should have an option to mark all forums as read, instead of just marking an individual forum as read. This way, I don't have to go and mark everything as read manually, but do it all in one shot. Yes I would like this option too.by scanff - Feedback & Support
Quote Is the root directory the default location where the wii will look for any files, then? I thought it was the folder where the dol is loaded from. It might just be a case of me sticking those files in the root folder :s yes that's default. What I do is create a little helper function : char* make_path(const char* path_rel) { #ifdef _WII_ static char abs_path[100] = {0}; sby scanff - Coding

QuotembressmanI'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but after loading the application, every time I try to play a station, it says "Status = Failed To Connect" - any ideas?? Thanks! Yes the "browser" part is not working right now due to changes on the server side. This is being fixed and re-done to be a lot more robust. Wow a lot of info :) Are you trying to build libmad from scratch? If you are there's already a working libmad with devkitpro. I'd suggest linking in that to start with.by scanff - Coding
It's perfectly safe to install the HBC and Homebrew. You won't here any fail stories unless people were doing something illegal. If you've not tinkered with your Wii already installing the Homebrew channel is very easy. As long as you get your homebrew from Wiibrew.org then there is nothing to worry about.by scanff - Getting Started
You probably want to to email the developer or post on his/her wiki page asking for that feature. Most developers here rely on feedback to improve their apps.by scanff - Homebrew Applications
I can't see a problem. Looks like you have the correct libs. Maybe your buffer[20] is not big enough. You could always put a NULL check on the file to ensure it's actually opening the file. FILE* fp = 0; fp=fopen("sd:/gamefile.dat","rb"); if(!fp) exit(0); Also don't forget in the printf("%s\n",buffer); your buffer is treated as text and needs to be NULL terminated. Sby scanff - Coding
