Well, there are a couple of homebrew which work better on 3.2, such as Gecko OS (being able to use hooks), and also, if you're on 4.0, I don't think you could have trucha bug enabled IOSes (Is that the correct plural of IOS? I always refer to it as that, but I'm not sure if that's right) unless you upgraded in a certain way, which he didn't, so he can't use the likesby SifJar - Getting Started
Indeed. I'd look into creating such an app, but I know very little about programming (but I do know a little), and because this deals with IOS, it could potentially brick if something went wrong I believe, and I doubt my brother would be too happy about that, and I also doubt he'd let me install BootMii (he was reluctant to let me install homebrew at all, until I showed him Guitar Fun).by SifJar - Homebrew Applications
well, if you're on 3.2, patchmii should be able to do the job. dunno if there is an app for IOS 36 though. WiiSCU doesn't have IOS 36. but it should be possible to make a wii app to do the job, using patchmiiby SifJar - Homebrew Applications
well he says he didn't realise they were there, and they weren't necessary, he could have removed them if he'd known they were there, if marcan had just politely pointed them out to him. and i trust him. i trust anybody, unless there is evidence to the contrary.by SifJar - Offtopic
you cant get DVDx? Did you try HackMii Installer 0.2? It should work on 4.0. And the reason cIOS wont work is there are no trucha bug enabled IOSes.by SifJar - Getting Started
well, do you still have the latest version of IOS 36, without having changed the version number? or are you on a lower firmware than 4.0? If you're on 4.0 and haven't changed the version number with FSToolbox (if that's even possible), it won't let you install it, because its the same version as you already have.by SifJar - Homebrew Applications
It IS what you're installing. WADs in general aren't supported here. If you were using WAD Manager for legal purposes, we MAY help you, but really WAD Manager isn't looked upon too well here because it's made by Waninkoko, who makes loads of warez tools, and WAD Manager is itself a warez toolby SifJar - The Junkyard
i believe australia is PAL so i guess it's same as Europe. If you're asking to find out which save to use for twilight hack, use the Europe one. and if you update to 4.0, everything already installed will remain intact. can't say about future firmwares yet, but no firmware yet has deleted any already installed.by SifJar - Getting Started
oh yeah discs. forgot about that. but is there one with 4.0 yet? grand slam tennis maybe? i dunno. but technically, NUSD uses the internet, just not on the Wii, and it may be that he doesn't want to use the internet at all (maybe on dial-up or something, so can make forum posts, but not download large files). Also, that could be slightly risky, if you dont have all the necessary files, you cby SifJar - Getting Started
No, bannerbomb causes FAR more problems. I have NEVER heard of Twilight Hack failing, whereas there are countless stories of people for whom bannerbomb just refuses to workby SifJar - Getting Started
QuoteArikadoGood job posting at the same time :P We'll just see about the reinstalling ;) oops...didn't check the times. sorry :(by SifJar - Getting Started
Marcan stated flaming him for using copyrighted material (which he didnt realise was still in the distributed package) and for not discouraging illegal base wad use. Icefire got fed up and left. you can read about it on wadder.net I believe.by SifJar - Offtopic
And now the creator has been driven out of the scene by marcan. he says he didn't realise the copyrighted stuff, and was about to release a completely legal and useful app (which may have been WADder 3.0), but marcan drove him out of the scene. I thought marcan was a nice guy. he used to be part of team twiizers. but then he "left" the scene. So why is he now driving others who are trying toby SifJar - Offtopic
yes. you can install with HackMii Installer 0.2 if you dont already have it installed, or if you do have it installed, it will still work fine.by SifJar - Getting Started
QuoteArikadoTry installing IOS 60 with WiiSCU and then uninstalling and reinstalling the homebrew channel. Good job repeating what I said ;). But I don't think he should need to uninstall and reinstall. It should work fine once IOS 60 is installed, from what I've heard from others experiencing same problem. But if it doesn't work after installing IOS 60, then try uninstalling andby SifJar - Getting Started
I'm assuming you used HackMii Installer 0.2? If so, download WiiSCU and run it with Twilight Hack, and install IOS 60. You may want to add trucha bug to it, but that doesn't really matter. Once it's installed, HBC should boot fine, without needing to uninstall/reinstall.by SifJar - Getting Started
And in answer to your other question, install BootMii. Then you can take a NAND backup, and even if you brick your Wii, you can boot and restore the NAND dump.by SifJar - Getting Started
You could also use wadimport if you have an aversion to waninkoko's apps as many here do. but will he be able to load either WUFE OR wadimport/wad manager, seeing as how apparently apps don't load? Is there a way to compile apps for BootMii yet? Because I know regular apps wont work because they use IOSes, but maybe someone could make a version of wadimport for BootMii, so it will load.by SifJar - Getting Started
Hmm, that is odd. Try manually downloading the homebrew from WiiBrew. See if that helps. And I don't know what the no support for SD/SDHC cards means. Maybe you can't save? I dunno... Oh, and dont worry about the install/download terminology problem - just I'm a freak who hates it when people say stuff slightly wrong ;)by SifJar - Getting Started
Just go on ebuddy on the Wii Internet Browserby SifJar - Ideas, requests
No apps load in the Homebrew Browser. They load in Homebrew Channel. Homebrew Browser simply installs them. Assuming you simply made a mistake writing your post, what happens when you try to launch the homebrew from the Homebrew Channel? Also, are you sure they are downloading right from Homebrew Browser if that's how you're installing them? Check they are all in the right locations onby SifJar - Getting Started
Hmm, dunno if this is in any way possible, but could it be a missing IOS? Homebrew apps giving black screens...Although I don't really know much on the subject. Are wiimotes even synced by an IOS? If so, which one?by SifJar - Getting Started
Yeah, I don't really know more details it was more speculative. I'll read around and see what I can find. EDIT: For patching trucha bug back into IOSes, I believe you could use freethebug, a PC app which I have been unable to find much about, so am unsure of the legality, but no doubt someone will inform me if it is illegal. I have not yet found the thing about lowering version numbeby SifJar - Homebrew Applications
I dont think you need to modify the version number with CMDVDX34. It'll do the downgrade. But in answer to the other guys, once that IOS is downgraded, how would you go about downgrading IOS 36, which is apparantly needed for preloader? Would you then be able to follow the rest of my method to get trucha on IOS 36, and other IOSes?by SifJar - Ideas, requests
What sort of WADs do you want to send? BTW, you don't just "run" WADs, you install them. And if you're talking about pirated VC or WW WADs, I'd advise you just stop here. However, if it's legal WADs, you will have to install them from an SD Card. Afaik, there is no way to install them over a network.by SifJar - Getting Started
I dont think the original issue was ever properly resolved (i.e. latest HBC not running properly). There is an easy fix for this. Simply use WiiSCU to install IOS 60, which for some reason the latest HBC sometimes installs on, despite it not being present, and therefore won't work, but if you run WiiSCU with bannerbomb or twilight princess and install IOS 60, the channel will boot fine. Butby SifJar - Getting Started
the problem is that bannerbomb is still on SD Card. Delete it and you can use the SD card channel as much as you like. This freezing ocassionaly happens in homebrew. A couple of times SuperSonic Wii has frozen on me, forcing me to hold the power button, scaring the crap out of me. Don't worry though, it's always fine.by SifJar - Getting Started
you need TP for twilight hack...don't really know what you're getting at. But you may mean that bannerbomb works on 3.4 without needing TP, which IS a valid point. If you dont have TP (Twilight Princess), use bannerbomb, but if you do have it, stick with twilight hack (it has a cooler name. that is the main benefit. OJ - it's more reliable I believe)by SifJar - Getting Started
