QuoteSifJarThe files are encrypted/signed with several keys we don't have access to (I think they're encrypted with the common key and signed with a key unique to a particular console. Probably private key and SD key as well. I don't know much about cryptography etc.). *All* files under /title are encrypted with a console-unique key, which is mentioned on the page you linked to.(doby yellowstar - Offtopic
There's code in libwc24 SVN for mounting VFFs /w libff elmchan fatfs with either Wii or Linux/Win32. There's code in SVN for mounting them via FUSE too but I never bothered to finish it, giantpune's method sounds a lot easier.(zero interest in libwc24 myself anymore, since I don't have hardly any interest in wii hb anymore.)by yellowstar - Homebrew General
So did you get some announcement mail about the ninch update, or did ninch display an error saying it needs updated via shop? ninchdl-listext isn't detecting any new version, the dl-list version never changed. :-/ For 3DS support maybe they mean WMB 3DS-protocol support for demos etc,(although eshop will have demos too, whenever it's released in May) that would be the only 3DS thing thby yellowstar - Homebrew General

Same thing can be done with WC24 HTTP mail, like svn libwc24 wc24app feature to install mail entries for wiibrew news/releases, and hackmii. For wiibrew mail that is hosted on mha's server, but the cronjob which grabs the main page html hangs at 100% cpu when it fails to connect. No idea why that would hang, but that wiibrew mail is outdated. Will be a very _long_ time before this updated lby yellowstar - Offtopic
QuoteDr.MarioXQuotebg4545One of the theories is that Nintendo uses it when you send in your Wii so that they cannot pry into your Message Board (for your privacy). That could be very well true. But I'm curious of why the channel graphics are messed up. Does it not display the Photo Channel picture so Nintendo doesn't see it? That's something I'll look at. Quotedanielcg... I could leave WiiConnect24 ON. So I did, BIG MISTAKE!!! It did som update, as I was at 4.2u and I booted my Wii and it said 4.3u......I didn't think anything of it because I thought SmashStackwas not pachable WC24 did not update your Wii. WC24 only downloaded the system update announcement mail. Someone manually updated your Wii, not Nintendo.by yellowstar - FixMii
That user-agent is useless, none of the servers lock content to only the WC24 user-agent. You can use that to cloak the user-agent while accessing WC24 servers from computer, but that's pointless. SifJar:by yellowstar - Software

It's currently impossible for Nintendo to remotely auto-update Wiis with WC24, see this: Disabling WC24 would only stop WC24 from downloading announcements, mail, title data, etc.by yellowstar - Homebrew General
QuoteSifJar But anyway, as giantpune said, there are MANY things needed in homebrew before a replacement SM is viable. For example: *Reading message board *Syncing Wii Remotes *Setting up WiFi *Changing other settings (e.g. parental control etc.) Reading mail stored in 1-2 cdb.vff was already done see PlayStats. However, moving new mail received stored in wc24recv.msg to cdb.vff and wrby yellowstar - Ideas, requests

wc24app is the test Wii app included with libwc24. You only need to install the boot entry once, before the brick occurs. And you need to enable the WC24 title boot flag with wc24app before the brick occurs. That flag is never changed by Nintendo software after the mail config files are created.by yellowstar - FixMii
QuoteSifJarOK, I don't completely understand all that stuff, but does this mean that semi-bricked Wiis can be sent a message when they are in StandBy mode which makes them boot any title, e.g. HBC? If so, nice work. Yes, but you need to run wc24app to install the boot mail entry and enable WC24 title booting before the brick occurs. Yeah, thanks.by yellowstar - FixMii
WC24 title booting can fix certain bricks, see the brick page. libwc24 wc24app v1.1 needs to be run to install the boot mail entry and to enable the WC24 title boot flag, before the brick occurs. The sysmenu needs to be able to still shutdown to idle/"standby" mode.by yellowstar - FixMii
1) Patch OSReport to output over USB Gecko. Gecko OS can do this but you need to enable the fwrite option in a config file on SD. 2) SEL and IDA SEL Loader. 3) No. Twilight Hack doesn't use STM Release exploit, it just writes certain addresses to RAM so that IOS doesn't crash.by yellowstar - Software
