I'll have to try that (B). I considered it, but when I saw it was loading ios60 anyway, I thought it wouldn't make a difference.by wasaqnan - Homebrew Applications
correct me if I'm wrong anybody... but I think that only applies to new consoles that are shipped with updated boot1 code. the original boot1 has a loophole that allows boot2 to be unsigned (hacked). Otherwise boot1 is supposed to check boot2's certificate and verify it as original, signed by Nintendo.by wasaqnan - Getting Started
I just installed Priiloader via HBC (using ios61). I have 4.1U which I insatlled using Dop-IOS mod v8. It will not let me boot the System Menu using ios60. ES_DiVerify Failed. Should I try setting it to a different IOS or do I need to patch ios60? I have all IOS updated, including: ios36 (I do believe it is trucha+ and ES_Identify... it would have to be i think...) ios70 ios249 v14 ios250 vby wasaqnan - Homebrew Applications
thanksalot. The 4.1U update worked perfectly!by wasaqnan - Testing Corner
wow quick response but i'll have to get back to u in about 7 hours.by wasaqnan - Testing Corner
I'm getting error downloading System Menu on 4.1U. I think it said "ret -6". Tried with NUSD and it works.by wasaqnan - Testing Corner
It's been a while but i've been busy actually enjoying my Wii... and work of course. wondering why Dop-IOS Mod (t13) could be saying "error downloading system menu" for 4.1U. Is anyone else having this problem... or is anyone not having this problem?by wasaqnan - Homebrew General
ya know i suspected something along those lines after seeing wat NUSD was doing with it. not a big deal at all tho anyway. i just thot i'd try to help with wat seems like a bug. ppl can just install it normally once they have the shop chan. so it should be ok to finish the job and install SM 4.1U if there are no known bugs with that? (and IOS... 30 is it? can't remember which I said I bby wasaqnan - Testing Corner
Just used trial 13. I missed all the other trials since... 4, I think. I got an error on downloading Nintendo channel. I don't even want to try the System Menu 4.1... unless it can be explained just how attempting would be 'fool proof'. I don't have BootMii/boot2, so... I understand it's not possible/remotely possible/not easy... to recover from a System Menu brick withouby wasaqnan - Testing Corner
If only it was that easy. There are unique keys in the Wii that somehow make it impossible to just transfer another Wii's NAND. If your BootMii is installed as boot2 (not IOS) and your SD card has the proper files for BootMii to run... and you still get a black screen, then your boot2 is probably corrupted. If so, then... Sorry to say, but I think your Wii is bricked for good... unlesby wasaqnan - FixMii
I've done some troubleshooting and testing of my own. Didn't document every step, and I don't have much for resources other than what I know. maybe some info from this thread could be of use: forum.wiibrew.org There are some screen caps in the previous post as well.by wasaqnan - Testing Corner
made some progress. I deleted the Nintendo Channel I already had and even a couple WiiWares using AnyTitle Deleter MOD to 'free up' some NAND space. Still getting crashes. I tried with Trial 3 and v7, using both IOS36 and IOS249 each. Tried to just go ahead with the 4.1U download, but I get the same errors about creating a temp dir, as reported in the Testing Corner thread. I was able tby wasaqnan - Homebrew General
vid caps that took a while... mov > VLC > mpg2 > virtualdub > png I was thinking.. could it be that I'm out of NAND space, considering some of these channels are optional? If that's possible, I could delete some stuff with AnyTitle Deleter or something. I'm afraid to reset the Wii at this point tho. I don't need the Nintendo Channel, but after seeing this faiby wasaqnan - Homebrew General
I successfully installed all IOS except IOS30 (thought I'd leave that one alone until after 4.1U is installed). IOS36 with trucha and ES_Identify. Successfully installed all Channels except Nintendo Channel... now this is where things got weird. While I was trying to install Nintendo Channel, I got an http request error, then return to HBC (which is upside-down btw). After a few more atteby wasaqnan - Homebrew General
Here's a little IT 101... double check your video cables and your TV's input/aux setting (could have changed accidentally like leaning on the remote). Have you tried cutting the power to the Wii completely? Maybe even give it a minute to clear the circuits.by wasaqnan - FixMii
so now I'm a guinea pig? lol... O_O what kind of problems? also, should I ES_Identify patch IOS36? I previously thought that was just another name for trucha.by wasaqnan - Homebrew General
as one would expect with any BIOS/firmware/software... so... just to confirm... every IOS that this app makes available? I should have just ran it in the first place, would have made my 'research' much quicker. I didn't expect the interface to be so AWESOME, just going by past experience with other IOS tools.by wasaqnan - Homebrew General
@SteelSLasher yes I just put on cIOS 38 rev14 as IOS249 earlier just to be more sure I still have bugs... if that's what you mean I'm also using IOS249 to run DopIOS modby wasaqnan - Homebrew General
ok thanks for these. I'm running 'trial 4' now, just about to commit. I have a NAND backup from the latest BootMii zipped... even tho I may not be able to use it... Just a quick question: Should I really install all IOS to newest version? And of course, I just have to ask "Why?".by wasaqnan - Homebrew General
yeah. I did this the other day. But when I use the new StartPatch, I won't need this... right?.... I have a Siemens SE567 for Telus DSL, and I just put in a Deny rule for 'any' Source Interface/Address with Destination Interface 'any', Address 209.67.106.0, and Mask 255.255.255.0. On review, I guess the better rule would be to change Source to the Wii's IP - but Iby wasaqnan - Offtopic
I was looking into updating to 4.1, but then 4.2 came out. It looks like the new StartPatch pretty much solves most of my concerns (updates). I have the new boot1, so I can't install boot2. I would also feel better if I could keep preloader, but I think the new System Menu features are worth it... also, I BELIEVE in the wiibrew community to bring near-future more-betterness. I have a 3.2Uby wasaqnan - Homebrew General
have you tried formatting as both FAT & FAT32? what about playing with other formatting options? I haven't seen anything about this anywhere regarding bannerbomb, but hey almost anythings worth trying at this point.by wasaqnan - Getting Started
