The DVD will act as a storage drive, just like the SD, not as a game disc. You can organize the games' ISOs in folders, just like you have them in your SD, so you can put many in one disc. If everything works as expected you should be able to browse the disc from the emulator and select the game you want to load. I am sorry, I can not provide you specific help with the emulator since Iby Axel - Homebrew General
QuoteHelpMiiiokay so i've done all this.. does this mean i can burn psx games on dvds and play them off my wii? Yes, in theory you should :) Use DVD-R and burn them in JOLIET format.by Axel - Homebrew General
In order to run the installer, copy the boot.elf file into a new folder inside your sd:\apps folder. Then insert the SD into your Wii and use your current HBC to run it as with any other app. If in the installer it says that DVDx is already installed, uninstall it and install it again. There is a stub channel released from nintendo in an attempt to remove DVDx from all consoles.by Axel - Homebrew General
Guys it's not my intention to be a troublemaker. As you can see this discussion was not initiated by me, I just felt that there were some valid points made by some other users which do need to be considered given the new policies. As a final comment, based on jbc007 statement, I still believe it is contradictory. Why? because I don't know if he keeps in mind that the Wii is a game coby Axel - Old Announcements
Quotejbc007However, some of us still have IOS 36 v1042 (on which nearly everything will run normally), and there is no absolutely benefit to having a later revision. This is where it becomes contradictory. If you still have IOS36 v1042 it means that either you downgraded it, or you have never updated your System Menu through Nintendo. If this is the case, then you surely have upgraded it usby Axel - Old Announcements
Quotejbc007Savegame Manager MOD, and most other applications can run on an unpatched IOS, so they are still supported. Excuse me, but I believed Savegame Manager MOD does require an IOS with NAND Permissions enabled, which is not found in any latest revision of any IOS, thus it is required to patch an IOS in order to enable them, or downgrading an IOS which you already have installed (bad idea)by Axel - Old Announcements
So you are saying NUS downloader and WAD installer are not dangerous apps that can turn a Wii unusable if you don' t know what you are doing. I want to see how it will be handled where n00bs under 4.2 stub out IOS70 not having Preloader and not being able to install BootMii/Boot2. As you may have noticed, when you format your Wii, all your configurations are reset to default. Those 3 blocks are used to store your Wii's configuration, that is why you can't delete them.by Axel - Homebrew General
Sorry to stir the water again, but I have to agree with Robert. You have a point saying that there is no need (at least ATM) for patching any file, and that with current HackMii release it is safe to update through Nintendo official update. And as you also mentioned before, this is all people need to enjoy homebrew. However, there are some great tools which their devs have put a lot of effoby Axel - Old Announcements
Yes, well, that is our recommendation. Progressively all homebrew that is still supported by their authors should start moving on to the new method of accessing DVD data. If the devs of said emulator have not coded it already, they should be doing it by now, and if they are not, then you should ask them to do it. There is not much point on installing DVDx at this point when it has already becby Axel - Homebrew General
QuoteOneUpSo far the frame dropping has made it freeze on a frame, then skip to another frame and freeze for several seconds. That happens to me only if I set the frame dropping to AUTO. If I set it to ALWAYS I get the behavior I described before.by Axel - Homebrew Applications
Yeah, I noticed that the code is just a small collection of libraries from other devs plus a small main procedure in a separate file that makes use of some of those library processes in sequential order. Still, the little app works better than some others I've seen out there and it's VERY easy to use. It is very unlikely it bricks anything, different from Wiinstall which if not usedby Axel - Homebrew Applications
This is not due to the transfer speed, but to the Wii's hardware limitations (yeah, sadly). Processing the video takes a lot of horsepower, so it lags a behind the audio. To confirm what I'm saying, try this: Go to Video Settings and set Frameskipping to ALWAYS. You will the that now the audio and video sync, but the video looks pixelated and not fluid. Arikado, I have been playing your port, and it's really good. (Despite of suffering from not having music, just like WiiDoom) :) It runs and full speed and the presentation is great, however, I still believe there is room for improvement regarding the controls. Mainly the classic controller requires improvement, since it detracts a lot of the fun. For example: The sticks have toby Axel - Homebrew Applications
As you mention, a WAD makes reference to just a file format, which is used as a container. It's contents can be anything, legal or not. A WAD is not illegal by its own, it's its contents which may make it illegal. Same thing as with MP3. Most people has tended to generalize MP3 as to be 'pirated music'. The term I have seen most correctly used in the scene is 'Homebrew enabled Wii'. 'My Wii's been Homebrew enabled!'by Axel - Homebrew General
DVDx is obsolete as of current homebrew status. It has been replaced by better applications, so you will not find any updated installer for it. If the PSX emulator you are using still requires DVDx it means that it is outdated, so you should either update it to a newer version or switch to a more recently updated emulator that doesn't require DVDx. Yes, PAL roms should be played at 50Hz and NTSC roms should be played at 60Hz otherwise they will feel slow. I don't think roms can be converted from one region to another, since they are built different from the beginning. So yes, I think you will have to re-download all your roms in PAL version. I can not provide you any link for roms here, since as you know that is illegal, howeverby Axel - Homebrew Applications
Hello, Will Wiibrew.org start supporting WiiSCU again now that it has been updated not to patch IOSes? As far as I know, WiiSCU does not need a patched IOS to work, on opposite to others like DOP-Shop. And now that it does not allow IOS patching, I think it is time to support it openly in the forums. Check System Menu version in the Wii settings. If you are over 3.4, Twilight hack will not work anymore. If you are above 4.2, Bannerbomb will not work anymore. You should use an exploit that runs in your current System Menu version. Indiana Pwns and Smashstack run in all versions of System Menu. Take a look here:by Axel - Getting Started

There is no other NES emulator for the Wii at the moment besides Fceugx. However I have never heard of the issue you are reporting. PAL setting works effectively at 50 Hz. Are you sure you are configuring it correctly?by Axel - Homebrew Applications
That is all you have to do. I'm glad you figured out by yourself. HackMii 0.8 is more recent than latest official update, so updating will not remove it :) Regards,by Axel - Homebrew General
I donĀ“t know where you spent the last two months (hiding under a rock, maybe?), but you are far outdated :) 1) HackMii Installer is not a PC app, it is the all-in-one installer for HBC and BootMii. 2) Patched updates/cIOS installation is not supported by WiiBrew anymore as of HackMii 0.7 release. 3) HackMii 0.7 and higher installations will not be removed by SysMenu 4.3, it already has circuby Axel - Homebrew General

There is something else. I ran into something similar with New SMB Wii: I was already on 4.2 and I ran HackMii installer 0.6, then I uninstalled DVDX. SifJar: I believe Ghsto was following a walkthrough to get HBC on 4.3 before HackMii 0.7 release. I believe that by 'soft-modded' he means that his friend's wii is enabled to load back-ups. Of course by doing the official update he'd lost that functionality. Although he is installing vanilla IOSes on a system with already installed cIOSes, I don't think people here will be very keen to provide him help for those purposes.
