QuoteLuigi886On a second note: winmaster told me to delete the .bin file, not me Axel. So... How do I fix THAT now? -.- So you did delete it from the zip in your PC *sigh* I said I wouldn't be surprised but now I am... I'm sorry but I only have so much patience.by Axel - Homebrew General
IOS58 installer does NOT contain the IOS itself inside. What it does is to connect via internet to the nintendo update servers (NUS) and download the IOS58, and then it installs it to your Wii. It definitely has something to do with your internet connection. Check if your Wii is connecting fine to it.by Axel - Homebrew General
PC's ARE homebrew... Every college kiddo studying computer science have programmed more than one application for his PC. Look at the huge amount of indie devs for PC, even Linux is homebrew! How can PC's be more homebrew-ed than that?by Axel - Getting Started
ROFL! I was about to reply to this thread after replying to Luigi's one regarding his HBB not loading, but I got tired of answering dull questions. I agree with you, I don't know what is wrong with these guys today :Sby Axel - Homebrew Applications
You are ------ You have copied the zip file into apps folder. For the other thing, where did you delete the .bin file from?? I wouldn't be surprised if you deleted it from the zip in your computer -_-by Axel - Homebrew General
Warez/Backups/Piracy is not supported in these forums. So you will not get any help here for your illegal purposes. If you want to play Wii games, BUY them! And FYI, the man did not scam you. Eventhough his illegal operations (softmodding a Wii to enable it to load backups and charging for that) don't say the best things about him, it looks like he knows what he is talking about. SifJar already said everything you need. However, keep this into consideration: QuotecptgarfieldmcMy main issue is how can I update into HBB v.1.0.8 using a PC-downloaded installer & transfering it to the SD (without affecting several downloaded games/applications in the card already)? The automatic update via HBC always fail (even after using a wired LAN connection), so I'm wondering ifby Axel - Homebrew General
Check the files in your SD. In order to launch bootmii you need to have its 3 files inside sd:\bootmii directory.by Axel - BootMii Beta
QuoteaboodyQUESTION? can i safely update system with out bricking? Yes. Updating through official methods will likely never brick your Wii. You can use either the online update or a disc-based update like the one you mention. I don't know what hack you used that tried to connect to internet. Some hours later... :P I just played your release of WiiDoom. It's amazing! It plays way better than I imagined. Have you had the chance of actually playing it and enjoying the results? The analog sticks in the classic controller are incredibly good. I wish they could ever get implemented like this to Heretic and Hexen so we could also get rid of run button :) The thing that surprisedby Axel - Homebrew Applications
I thought all these questions were already answered countless times in any homebrew tutorial... (?)by Axel - Homebrew General
YAY! Finally I will be able to get my hands on it again! I was really excited when I read that you were added to the WiiDoom SVN repository a couple days ago. I can not wait to test your new improvements and the classic controller support! Thanks x 1000 :)by Axel - Homebrew Applications
QuoteSifJarThat is not related to piracy though. I don't believe Nintendo would also say that :P I think they don't even know (or care) about everything that is going on down here... they just see any unauthorized modification as Piracy. If they didn't think that way, they would not have even bothered in releasing that fix :)by Axel - Getting Started
And the fix to Boot1 to prevent BootMii installation :) That is the only thing that has worked pretty well for them, and is one of the only things that would ever prevent me from trading mi Wii for a new one.by Axel - Getting Started
Quotefadolas above does it support wiimote ? i dont wanna hassle to update to find out it still doesnt as i have no problem at all Wiimote is not likely to be ever supported by BootMii for the reasons SifJar said above. However, it is strongly recommended that you upgrade BootMii whenever a new version is available. Why? Improved stability, increased compatibility, etc. Yby Axel - BootMii Beta
Your questions were answered by almost every moderator of this forum. The position of the forum is already set. Besides, as Arikado said, your point has been brought out a thousand times. What is the point of opening a new thread to start the same thing over and over again?? What are you expecting to get from this?by Axel - Homebrew General
QuoteLuigi886REPLY PLEASE. Hey! you won't get much help spamming like this! Also cut out the caps!by Axel - Homebrew General
Hey Arikado, I've been trying to think on what would be a good default buttons scheme for the classic controller for both Heretic and Hexen. I suppose you have realized that WiiDoom has implemented analog movement for the analog sticks; if you push it slighly, the character walks slowly, if you push it all the way you get the same results as if you used run button. 2GB means it is not SDHC. You might be doing something wrong. Make sure of the following: 1) You can not have any other stage file, either in your Wii internal memory nor in your SD. If you have stages in your Wii make sure to delete them or move them to another SD before running the exploit. 2) Make sure you copied the exploit into the correct path into the SD. It should be: SD:\privby Axel - Homebrew General

QuoteArikadoFor those wondering, DOP-Mii (main branch) will continue to be developed separately after the WiiBrew Edition is released and will never return to WiiBrew. LOL about the private message. Thank you so much and take your time, I have seen how busy you've been lately :) Regarding the music... well, Inuxguy (original porter of WiiDoom) also faced the same issue about 2 years ago. The problem is that the music files are like either compressed or encrypted inside the WAD, an you can't play them directly from it. In the original game, it looksby Axel - Homebrew Applications
Quotejbc007QuoteAxelAlso, these new Wiis can not downgrade to a lower version of System Menu, trying to do so would brick it. More accurately, they can't run pre October 23 2008 IOSes. That's correct :) I just didn't want to get into technical terminology given the nature of the question. I can almost see the next question coming... What is an IOS? xDby Axel - Getting Started
I didnt have the chance to try it myself, but I think I will wait until Arikado releases the final version. Just a couple questions you may know if you tried it already: 1) Does it have to run on a pre-installed patched IOS? 2) If not, what exploit does it use to install/remove/downgrade IOSes? Thanks :)by Axel - Homebrew General
I have always wondered why dimok and WiiXplorer guys don't make proper releases of their fabulous app. I think it is because they keep updating it daily so they would need to be changing the release package too often, but still... 1) Rename R199.dol to boot.dol 2) Create WiiExplorer folder inside SD:\apps folder 3) Copy the boot.dol file to there 4) Optionally, download the meta.xml anby Axel - Homebrew Applications
That is not BootMii. And again... what are you trying to do...??by Axel - The Junkyard
Nothing you have to worry about regarding the errors you got when you tried to install DVDx. They were just messages indicating that it could not be installed. But don't worry, as said before, it is no longer necessary if you are under 4.3. Wiis that came out after 2008 can not install BootMii as Boot2, that is why you are not given this option. BootMii is already installed as an IOS,by Axel - Getting Started
There are some more non-trivial differences between new Wiis and old Wiis besides the one mentioned above. For example, Wiis that came after 2008 don't have a bug in Boot1 which allowed installation of BootMii as Boot2. Also, these new Wiis can not downgrade to a lower version of System Menu, trying to do so would brick it. This doesn't mean that if you have a new Wii you will notby Axel - Getting Started
A) Trying to run SSBB/US on your Wii won't brick it or anything similar, it will just not work, so don't spend money on getting a copy of it. B) As there is no exploit for PAL version of SSBB, LIJ is your current best choice. If you don't want to buy it, rent it for a couple days, that would suffice for you to enable homebrew on your Wii. C) Downgrading your Wii is never a good iby Axel - Getting Started
