I hate to break it to you, but I don't think that the Wii remote/nunchuck/any-combination has a HAT. I would suggest using the D-PAD. Like so: if(WPAD_ButtonsDown(WPAD_CHAN_0)&WPAD_BUTTON_UP){ // GNA ! }else if(WPAD_ButtonsDown(WPAD_CHAN_0)&WPAD_BUTTON_DOWN){ // MU? }by dancinninja - Coding
I actually think that's a good idea. Particularly if the video explained the code and above all what it does. I had to reverse-learn a lot of the code, and I'm still learning!by dancinninja - Ideas, requests
All the autosave code that I've been able to find was in the "menu" files (as in: only called when the menu pops up).by dancinninja - Homebrew Applications
I think (think) that the "autosave" is called when you pull up the menu. That would explain the time.by dancinninja - Homebrew Applications
Thank you so much! I'm still working through it, trying to piece everything together, but it's a great start! Thanks again.by dancinninja - Ideas, requests
That is fascinating! I never would have thought of that. I'll have to brush up on my Lua skills. Am I correct in assuming that this is implementing a thread, or rather (in this case) highjacking the main thread? I'll have to brush up on that too... Thanks!by dancinninja - Ideas, requests
An unsigned integer has the range of 0 to 4294967295. You are getting 4294967296, which is really close. The problem is, if it were stored as, say, -1, it would show up as: 4294967294. I'm not entirely sure what's going on. Can you load a different image? If so, then something's wrong with the first image, and we can work from there.by dancinninja - Coding
I think this is the greatest thing on the face of the planet. Not that I'm biased or anything...by dancinninja - Homebrew Applications
Hey everybody, I am having trouble conceptualizing how to go about this project, and I need some help. For example, to have two people talking on screen. The events are as follows: Person A says "I enjoy fun, much more than doing laundry." Person B says "I know man! It's like we're supposed to wear clean clothes all the time or something" The sound of a bag of laundry hitting the floby dancinninja - Ideas, requests
Sorry to bring up an old topic, but I have some questions about the Starlet. Specifically: when not "off", is it possible to execute code on it? And above all: how? According to the page onIOS, "Communication with IOS from PPC code is done using an IPC mechanism". Looking at this code gave me a little insight, but I'm still confused. Is the Starlet just for IOS? Can it be used whilby dancinninja - Software
There has been some major breakthroughs in making it come really, really close to that. I even got to help out with it. Now it's back to working on the core.by dancinninja - Ideas, requests
Does it now? It was my understanding that there is a fear of a dramatic drop in the quality/speed of health care in the United States and/or dramatic increase in taxes. Scanff brought up an excellent example: the government doesn't pay that much. A question arises, where do all the good doctors go? Where does anyone go, really? Where the money is. It's not evil or malicious, it's sby dancinninja - Offtopic
One word: Australia. If memory serves, they have an awesome system that provides for basic care for everyone, (yay), but also allows you to go "above" that as well, for more expensive/better treatment (yay). This way, the good doctors get paid the big bucks, and therefore will stay in the country, and everyone at least gets something.by dancinninja - Offtopic
7 digits, eh? I think you just proved my point better than ever I could.by dancinninja - Offtopic
I did misquote the UK, I apologize. That was somewhere else which I will not say until I go get the source so as to not misquote again. Has anyone ever had to deal with an insurance claim before? I have, and I know a LOT of people who have been through much, much worse. Suffice it to say, private health insurance is fundamentally a flawed concept, much like banks. To use the banking exampleby dancinninja - Offtopic
Interesting note, in Great Britain, they eat some horrible, horrible foods (and not just disgusting, but bad for you too), but they live healthier lives due to their health care system. I do agree that people really should eat better and take better care of themselves; I personally think that a large portion of our problems could be literally solved if everyone would just wash their hands aftby dancinninja - Offtopic
Huh... That is strange. I won't claim to be the absolute authority, and all I can think of is your comment: "IOS36 1042 with EHC module". Maybe that's the problem? Can you compile and run the example, exactly? Perhaps it's in the modifications? This has happened to me more times than I would like to admit This has never happened to me.by dancinninja - Coding
I'm working on it, okay? Stop yelling at me!by dancinninja - Ideas, requests
Possibly silly question, but is the makefile named "Makefile" without an extension?by dancinninja - Coding

I think the problem is that the link to the site doesn't seem to actually do anything. Try this.by dancinninja - Getting Started
That's easy for you to say, but I have to learn the stuff first. I'm not 100% familiar with either one, so I wanted your input before I started studying, in order to save some time. But if you feel that all the technologies would be required, I'll get right on it. Thanks!by dancinninja - Homebrew Applications
Greetings all, I thought that I'd finally take the plunge and create an original wiibrew project. I've been helping others with theirs but now it's time for something more ambitious. But! I need everyone's input. The game will be sprite-based. Which libraries should I use? Libwiisprite looks promising, but SDL looks nice as well. Before I get down to the coding, I'd lby dancinninja - Homebrew Applications
Wow, that's impressive. I wish I could compile it so I could help (there's 6 makefiles?!).by dancinninja - Homebrew Applications
Yeah, I have to agree with Daid. An "is-possible" question is seen as a challenge. The only thing that's worse is "that's impossible". In any case, I hope that we were of some help. If you need any of us to "talk nerd" to the research team (complete with unintelligible technobabble) in order to convince them not to do this, just ask.by dancinninja - Ideas, requests
Pieces of tape work as well. Also, "byte" needs to be declared, try: typedef unsigned char byte; ...up at the top of your file.by dancinninja - Coding
That is bogus man! Totally bogus! If I am reading you correctly, people are trying to switch their crap wiimotes for working ones, under the guise of friendship? That's low. If there were a way to deliver electric shock via the wiimote... well I'm just saying.by dancinninja - Coding
I'm actually not sure how long it would take. I just ran a high ballpark, and I'm glad I did, as I shall explain below... There is a way for them to submit their data to you and now brick their Wiis. If they transferred their save file to the SD card via the Wii's save manager, then no homebrew would be required, seeing as all you want is the Wii Fit data. Here's where tby dancinninja - Ideas, requests
You know, I've found that money is a great motivator, and a wonderful deterrent. Quote them a price. Let's see, first of all you'll need to hire a programmer, or even a team. Anyone know the going rates? I'll throw something out, and anyone can chime in for more accurate numbers: - $20/hr for a 50 hour job 20*50 = $1,000 - Overhead of 25by dancinninja - Ideas, requests
