Does it work with actual DVDs? Also, soz for the mix up before.by SifJar - Homebrew General
Well, if you deleted it with AnyTitleDeleter, I believe the worst that could happen is you'd have to buy it again. If it still fails to download perhaps contact Nintendo. I'd be reluctant to contact them because I saw a pot on HackMii recently that showed that if you have HBC installed and send your Wii to Nintendo, they charge several hundred euros (or pounds or dollars) extra. Yeah, I don't think WiiSCU will work on a 4.0 Wii. Because it needs an trucha bug enabled IOS to patch the trucha bug back into IOSes. And if he has a trucha enabled IOS, he isn't in this situationby SifJar - Homebrew Applications
I believe it works fine on 4.0, but that's a good question. Perhaps it must be installed prior to updating? Hmmm. Dunno. I don't have 4.0 OR preloader, so can't say "Well it did/didnt work for me"by SifJar - Homebrew Applications
This would be pretty cool I agree. It's at times like this I wish I knew how to program. I am trying to learn C++, but I doubt I'll be porting a flash player to the Wii anytime soon ;).by SifJar - Ideas, requests
Well, I'm not sure if you should delete if it is there, it may delete the ticket, and therefore the re-download privileges. But if you're not so worried about that go for it. It may not, that's just a random guess.by SifJar - Getting Started
No, I'm pretty sure LU64+ Wii's can't install cIOS by regular methods, and must use more hacks to accomplish installation without ending in a brick. I remember that Edited Out had to release a fix for LU64+ Wiis to prevent bricks.by SifJar - Getting Started
No, that's not blocking it. That was apparently announced before the Brawl exploit, and anyway, the exploit wasn't going to be shared on the server anyway. No way to upload, seeing as how the exploit takes over as soon as you enter the stage builder, so there isn't a chance to upload, due to the fact that the exploit is running. This is unrelated I believeby SifJar - Ideas, requests
Those guides featuring upgrading and downgrading IOSes are warez enabling guides aimed at pirates, not homebrew guides. Most homebrew is pretty straightforward, just run it form from HBC. A few are slightly trickier like StarFall(which is kinda outdated by preloader anyway), AnyTitleDeleter, AnyRegionChnager etc., but unless you know how to use them, you probably won't need them. The hardestby SifJar - Getting Started
Hmm, maybe it's not extracting properly. Not really familiar with WinRAR. Try 7-Zip. Just install it, then right-click the archive and select extract to {folder name}. Then go into that folder and there should be a "private" folder. Just copy that folder to the root of your SD card. Then copy and .dol or a .elf file to the root renaming it boot.dol or boot.elf repectively. Then insert SD carby SifJar - Getting Started
Well what version was it on before you updated? Any idea? Also, how recent was this upgrade prompt? EDIT: I believe you have now fixed it. For those interested, the solution was simply reinstall HBC. Apparently HBC had decided to use IOS 61 when he installed it for Shop Channel, and then he uninstalled it and HBC stopped working, despite having worked fine before IOS 61 being installed. But reby SifJar - Homebrew General
The thing about certain serials brcking is only with cIOS and other warez enabling tools, not proper Homebrew. Just to clear that up.by SifJar - Getting Started
So you can still download other channels? That is wierd. Sure it deleted properly? You could try getting AnyTitleDeleter and checking if it's still there - or will it still show up because he has the redownload ticket?by SifJar - Getting Started
You need to have SD card in BEFORE you go to Data Management>Channels>SD. You can go as far as channels, but then stick in the SD card and THEN press SD. Hope that helpsby SifJar - Getting Started
I think preloader should do the job (not 100% sure though)by SifJar - Homebrew Applications
Hmm, dunno what that problem is, altough I have heard some channels won't boot without correct IOS. Which version of HBC do you have, and anyone know which IOS it uses? Then check you have that IOS. I believe you should, but you never know, if you've been at GBATemp, you could have got some bad advice and used some epic failure "homebrew" (read "warez tools") that you were told you MUSTby SifJar - Homebrew General
This is why you shouldn't cheat... lol, soz I can't be any real help. But here's my two cents: It can't be hardware if GC games still work so it's software. Have you installed anything other than HBC on your Wii? Any "softmod" packages (i.e. epic failures)? Any cIOS, or other unnecessary warez thing?by SifJar - Homebrew General
Oh, I thought he meant download actual homebrew, not HBC. Never mind, my badby SifJar - Getting Started
Yes, but I'm saying what if WE monitored the communications to see how they work and apply it to homebrew. You said the makers of the app didn't make it open-source, but if someone wrote an app themselves, they could make it open-source for use in this.by SifJar - Ideas, requests
You could use Homebrew Browser to download direct to Wii, but you have to download it first and put it correctly on SD card, but if you've done that, you know how to do it, so don't need it...by SifJar - Getting Started
You can also navigate with the power and reset buttons. One moves and the other selects. I'd advise against uninstalling it just in case of a brick.by SifJar - Getting Started
Yup, you can use an SDHC card, just the System Menu won't support it. (i.e. you won't be able to use it in the settings) and games which access SD won't be able to use it (such as Brawl, and maybe Rock Band or something) but games still can't use SDHC on 4.0, so no difference there. (Games have to be coded with support for SDHC, and they weren't, as the Wii didn't suby SifJar - Ideas, requests
QuoteozzadarPersonally I think for this to work you're going to need a hacked DS aswell. WOW. You're a genius. Don't think anyone had thought of that. *SARCASM* Anyway, in all seriousness, just shooting here, could we use a packet sniffer to see the communications between Wii and DS, then try and replicate these communications with a homebrew DS app and a homebrew Wii app,by SifJar - Ideas, requests
Your wii thinks you have the latest system menu? How? So update in Wii Settings doesn't work? Well, you could update from a disc I think, but I don't know if there are any with 4.0 yet. There may be an app to upgrade, but I know of no legal, safe ones.by SifJar - Homebrew General
Ahh good. That's OK then.by SifJar - Getting Started
Gecko OS won't change your Wii's region, it just lets you play out-of-region games. And can play them without updating. And those which NEED updates to work, it can take the necessary parts and install them. (But NEVER install updates from an out-of-region disc)by SifJar - Getting Started
Is WAD manager legal? I thought it wasn't, but it must just be that whole "anti-Waninkoko" thing going on here (No, I'm not a fan myself). So the app is actually legal?by SifJar - Offtopic
Wait...So if I install BootMii, I won't be able to play GameCube games? I have 3.3E v2. If I update to 4.0, I definetly wont be able to play GC games with BootMii installed, right? That sucks.by SifJar - Getting Started
I don't think you can download the trucha signed versions of those IOSes unless you have an IOS with trucha enabled. You'll have to download them sans Trucha Bug, which should work. But if you're on 3.4 anyway, you may as well just update to 4.0. It has many benefits over 3.4, more apps support it. Only thing you'd lose would be Gecko OS hooks. But you'd gain themes, SD mby SifJar - Homebrew Applications
