are you able to use the system menu to copy saves to that sd card and load channels from it? if the system menu can't access the sd card, then it can't see the exploit. also, make sure you have the correct paths. some archive-extracting programs create extra paths when they dearchiverize files. the "private" folder from the archive needs to end up on the root of your sd card.by giantpune - Getting Started
Yes, there is a way to make HFS+ formatted filesystem work with WiiMC, but it's probably not as simple as you would like. All the filesystems that are supported by wii programs use specific code to do it. For NTFS and EXT, they are all using open source libraries that were ported to work with devkitPPC and libogc. You can port some existing code like what was done for those filesystems, oby giantpune - Homebrew General
i have had 2 wiis replaced under warranty, and each time they typed some stuff in their computers and it allowed me to download all my purchased games on the new console. however, your wii is not under warranty. unless you are sending it to them and paying some outrageous fee, they will not be getting that console. so they have no idea if it really IS broken. nintendo does not allow you to trby giantpune - FixMii
no content.map means pretty much what the program says. all the titles which rely on shared contents are broken. thats basically every ios and your system menu that are broken. your save data itself doesnt depend on the shared contents, so theres a slim chance that it is recoverable. there was actually only 1 file listed in the filesystem, so i'd say the content.map is the least of yourby giantpune - FixMii

your link for the source is broken i found another link for source of xm6 online from back in 2005. having a quick look, i see over 10000 lines of what looks like x86 asm. theres another one called vx68k that doesnt look like it relies so much on asm. all i see is a bunch of c/cc/h files and a complicated build system. youd probably have a much easier time getting that one to work on tby giantpune - Ideas, requests
the red power light should still come on even if you unplugged it during some important part of the update. you may be able to reset the power brick. ive had to do this several times on both of my wiis.by giantpune - FixMii

sounds like your wii is booting into preloader 0.29. that version of preloader doesnt play well with the system menu/ios that came out after it. basically the only thing you can do now is use the "load/install file" to start 1 homebrew app at a time from the sd card. if it were me, the first thing i would do is try and make a nand dump. that way if you mess up and break it, it wont be completby giantpune - FixMii
i think somewhere in there is the SFFS generation number which is incremented each time IOS commits the metadata changes to the nand filesystem. it matches up with u16 prng_seed[2]; in this layout. and has the comment "incremented every time IOS starts."by giantpune - Ideas, requests
heres a quick hack that seems to work. its a ppcboot.elf, which can be started directly with mini by replacing the bootmii one, or started from the little homebrew launcher in the bootmii ui. it runs with MINI, so does that satisfy #2 and #3? :D i really wasnt sure about what to put at the start of the file. the backupmii one puts "BackupMii v1..." at the start. i dont know if any progby giantpune - Ideas, requests
you can look at the opera error and get a decent idea of how the system menu is botched. it should say something like "marc:bla/bla/bla.html was not found in the archive". all the system menu versions come with the translation file for japanese, and the text showing up in that language is no indication that you really have a japanese console or system menu. the issue you have sounds like youby giantpune - FixMii
i dont think there are any cables connecting the GC stuff and the SD card slot to the motherboard. pretty much all of the components are soldered directly to the main board. you can see the sd slot in the front and all the GC hardware connections all stuck right to the board.by giantpune - FixMii
that sounds like a hardware issue to me. neither the system menu or bootmii is showing up on the screen. bootmii should show up even if the bluetooth doomuhickey is broken/shaken loose. i would start by trying a different tv, then get a friend's wii and try their video cable, and work your way along each piece of hardware until you get back to the wii itself. something else may be up tby giantpune - FixMii
all that spew is bootmii running, then loading mini, mini is able to read the ppc app (the "bootmii ui") from your SD card and load it. then the ppc app starts talking to mini, and has it mount the SD card. at that point, i would expect to see something on the TV screen. it doesnt say anything about loading the real boot2 and patching it. the processor doesnt speak, read, or understand text. storing data as strings such as "20" or "20 seconds" or anything along those lines may be easier for a human to read and understand, but it means squat to the little processor that decides how long to wait for the timeout. you would need to convert the ascii "20" (hex 0x3230) into a number like the processor can use, which would be plain-oleby giantpune - Homebrew General
the issue with the new wiimotes has been fixed. but only homebrew built with the fixed library will work with these wiimotes. existing programs can be rebuilt with the new library if source code is available, so you will be able to use some popular programs. but you wont be able to just grab a 2yr old dol and use it with those wiimotes.by giantpune - Getting Started
Quote Bugs / Limitations ... Why does my SD card work in the Installer / HBC, but not in BootMii (or vice-versa)? libogc and MINI use completely different sets of code to talk to SD cards, so a card that works in one may not work in the other. For reasons unclear, MINI does not work with a random 25% of all SD cards; we are constantly striving to increase compatibility, but in the mean time yoby giantpune - Homebrew General
the wii can be fixed with a few different methods. first see if it will boot up into maintenance mode. i doubt it will, but it is free to try and only takes a minute. if you are able to, then you can delete the offending channel however you want. the next method would be if you already have a save exploit installed to your console ( Eri Hakawai, any of the lego ones, Yu-Gi-XXX ). you caby giantpune - FixMii
yes, you did do something wrong. the letterbomb works for a specific version of the system menu. thats the whole reason it asks you what version you have. you told it the wrong version, and now it doesnt work. are you really surprised? if you want to stay with 4.2, look up bannerbomb v2.by giantpune - Getting Started
in his first post, he said he clicked the bootmii option in the HBC. if his hackpack had a copy of comex's nand formatter in it, this this is what would load when he tried to start bootmii. and the first thing the nand formatter does when it runs is delete everything. it doesnt ask questions. it just deletes everything. and then it starts trying to install wads. if there are no wads, wby giantpune - FixMii

if you have one, you can try a gamecube controller. even though it says "press 1", it will respond to you pressing A on a gamecube controller in port 1. there are reports of some of the new wiimotes not working in homebrew. you can google a bit and find the model number of those wiimotes and compare yours. if yours happens to be one of these that dont work, then you might end up with some hby giantpune - Homebrew General
you can open the wii up and jiggle the bluetooth doohicky. maybe at some time somebody knocked the wii off a shelf and it shook loose inside. make sure it is seated properly. you can also find somebody with a working wii and open both of them up and try switching the bluetooth things. that way youll know if it is the issue before you buy a new one.by giantpune - FixMii
your description is pretty vague. you didnt mention what you upgraded from and what you upgraded to. and you dont mention which version of bootmii and the homebrew channel you had. if you have upgraded to 4.2 or 4.3, it would have removed all the version of the homebrew channel before 1.0.7. if you had boot2 v2 or v3, then the upgrade would have removed bootmii from there as well. just graby giantpune - Getting Started
priiloader and geckoOS have nothing to do with each other. the hacks you apply with priiloader are not in effect when you boot anything that is not the system menu. there is no WAD you need. geckoOS will read the required WAD from the game install it if it needs to be done. most likely you have a language issue. some games have hardcoded filenames like "/gamedata/{console region}/strapscreby giantpune - Homebrew General
Sounds like you have a stubbed systemmenu IOS. Since you don't have bootmii @ boot2, your only chance of fixing this is with a nand programmer. Even with that, you would either need a backup of your nand, or at the very least, the nand hmac and aes keys. Without those, you are the proud owner of a $120 plastic brick.by giantpune - FixMii
Disadvantage: you cant play any of those old custom games (all those guitar hero 3 & singit custom games) without installing a cIOS - which is discouraged by these forums. Disadvantage: the rebooter and ability to launch channels in geckoOS will be removed, unless you install a cIOS - which again, is discouraged on these boards.by giantpune - Getting Started

you can't sync wiimotes while homebrew is running. you need to boot a game or the system menu or something for that to work. sounds like they might have turned on the "force blackscreen" or some similar priibricker hack. go and turn them all off and see if your wii works. since you can get to HBC, you can boot geckoOS / tinyload. then use that to boot a game. then sync your wiimoteby giantpune - FixMii
