Place your questions and tips for getting Comex's "BannerBomb" alpha working in this thread. Note: Please do not post questions asking how to install HBC with it, or linking to guides / packs / etc to do so. An official installer for use with BannerBomb is forthcoming, and we really prefer people do not redistribute HBC.by bushing - Homebrew General
QuoteArikadoHaha. Just look at hackmii tomorrow ;) (This is based off of a clear statement from crediar in #wiidev that was repeated to me by both Jassim and Chuck Bartowski) Why would crediar know?by bushing - Offtopic
Oops, looks like the board ate your #include statements. :( Absolutely nothing I've ever written for the Wii has been in C++, heh. yuck Anyway, this is a good start -- SSBB has the ability to load lots of crap from SD, and it's a popular game. Each of those alone would make it a good target. Good luck. :)by bushing - Ideas, requests
IOS doesn't know anything about controllers (or Bluetooth) -- that's handled by each individual application (by code in the SDK). (You'd think they would have handled that sort of thing inside IOS ... oh well, maybe next console.)by bushing - Offtopic
QuoteWikiFSXQuoteekeekeyou should read this: Anatomy of an Optical Medium Authentication (Part 1) if the purpose of your thread is to prove this can easily be beaten by software, you probably will be very disappointed. That's about the GameCube's disc format, which does use the BCA. The Wii uses a bog-standard DVD, with a bunch of on-Wii stuff for encrypting and decrypting. Theby bushing - Software

You're missing the point. You might as well have asked: QuotepoodJust a quick hypothetical question regarding installing HBC on system menu 4.0. Would it be possible to make a Homebrew Channel that forwards to the HBC installer? Would that way work?by bushing - Homebrew General

I don't get it.by bushing - Software
Sure, but the point is that if you have stuff that works, and you don't change anything, it doesn't usually break. What changed?by bushing - Homebrew General
Please don't share exploit ideas you can't be bothered to even try.by bushing - Software
You need to pick one specific version of one specific program, and then actually take a picture of all of the numbers before anyone can actually help you.by bushing - Homebrew General
QuoteRazorChristNot sure if this is the right place for this, but I've got a friend that has a problem with Mario Kart. He was originally on 3.4u and I downgraded his Wii to 3.2u using the following guide: Link removed Everything works fine except it doesn't allow him to play Mario Kart. I believe it keeps asking to update, but not 100% sure at the moment. I figured we could fix it bby bushing - Software
Nobody has really documented how this works, but I believe it's just some sleight-of-hand done by the 4.0 System Menu.by bushing - Software
bLAStY put a lot of time into this, but I don't think he got anything working.by bushing - Ideas, requests
If I'm not mistaken, Comex found his current exploit all by himself, and he did it out of necessity -- he was looking for a way to fix a Wii of his that could not boot disks. He's also found some IOS exploits on his own, too. When people find their own exploits, everyone wins -- because we can then use them one at a time, and keep some extra in reserve.by bushing - Homebrew General
We expect it to be. However, please note that the term "virgin 4.0 Wii" means different things to different people, and we can't make any promises. (Specifically, I'm alluding to the fact that some people may buy a Wii tomorrow -- a "virgin 4.0 Wii" -- and only be able to install BootMii as a channel instead of as a boot2-replacement. We hope to have that working for the initial reby bushing - Homebrew General
You could always find your own damn exploit.by bushing - Homebrew General
Quoteatomixxhow about releasing the source code so long so that more than 1 developer can work on the hack and people can see something is happening. Instead of just bitching about it. Everytime i see there are new posts i get all excited to find that it is just another idiot moaning and groaning about it taking so long! pot ... kettle ... black ... Quotelpeters82BannerBomb should be taking the place of the Twilight Hack. It should work along with the HBC. Hopefully on a virgin 4.0 Wii. Again, based on what I've heard it already has no problems working on a Wii that has had HBC already installed in the past. I'm guessing the delays are coming with getting it working on a virgin 4.0 system. Again, that part is just a guess on mby bushing - Homebrew General
