Can we add an area on the forum for coding tutorials. I know that the Wiki is really for that but finding information on a forum seems much easier to me. Threads could also link to the Wiki page if people like the Wiki layout better. It also allows a better method for people to comment without editing the post. Here's what I'm thinking: Coding -> (new area) "Examples and Tutby scanff - Feedback & Support
Hi all, I've been converting over a class I had for MD2 models. I'm trying to load the skin texture from a file but when I view the model it looks like black tiger stripes are running through the texture. I don't think it's a stride/pitch issue as the texture does not look shifted. I have also tested the texture from a memory tpl and it works fine to skin the model. Hby scanff - Coding
Talking about this maybe we can have a filter on the forums where id the word "backup" is in the post it won't accept it :) I understand your frustration cl87.by scanff - Offtopic
You could probably do that somehow if you learn how the Wii's memory works. In theory you could have an elf/dol load another elf/dol then jump to a function in the second elf and return back. I know little about these formats or the way the Wii would do this but I'm pretty knowledgeable when it comes to code injection on Windows and I'm sure you could use a technique like thatby scanff - Coding

Quote #include <header_with_vector2f.h> typedef struct CLocation { ... vector2f vert; ... I'd guess that the error is caused by passing in width and height that way. I don't believe even in VC++ you can do that. The parameters must be constants if your defining vert within a class. Try "vector2f vert[1][1];" as a test! Think about it how is vert going to know tby scanff - Coding
Dolphin seems to have improved a lot! I do have one general question if anyone has every done this :) To shorten my development time I'm going to use dolphin to test my code. My question is has anyone figured out where the emulator puts the Wii SD card (is it even supported). For example I want to load /apps/myproject/test.bmp what folders/settings would I need to change on dolphin?by scanff - Testing Corner
Yes I think that the examples don't work anymore. I would love to see this library updated some more! Think of how many games could be ported if the GL library was more complete :) Does anyone know if this project is dead?by scanff - Coding
Don't think you should be removing the fb variable. I'd rename the one in the OpenGL lib and replace all instances of it with a new variable ... maybe gl_fb. Then recompile GL lib.by scanff - Coding
Do you mean this mean this thread? If you want some code to download a web page then let me know.by scanff - Coding
Have you tried putting the PAD init stuff outside the loop. They really only need to be called once. See Below :- int main() { Initialise(); WPAD_SetDataFormat(0, WPAD_FMT_BTNS_ACC_IR); WPAD_SetVRes(0, 640, 480); while(1) { WPAD_ScanPads(); WPAD_IR(0, &ir); u32 buttonsDown = WPAD_ButtonsDown(0); if( buttonsDown & WPAD_BUTTON_B ) { //Prints wiimote positby scanff - Coding
yeah %e is for double values. ir.x/y is a float. Try a %f in the printf.by scanff - Coding
Hi lolme - welcome. I wrote a class to do network communications without threads. If you look up the WiiRadio project you'll find it under the source. If your planning a threaded class beware that libogc threads are not as forgiving as pthreads or windows threads. They are very temperamental. I posted a question about this named "threads" on this forum and got some great advice fromby scanff - Coding
TylerRick2, Good point, I noticed that about Helium Boy. It says it uses Ogre 3D but does not give source. That's pretty sucky to be honest, take an open source project port it and don't make it open source.by scanff - Homebrew General
Just like to update all who are interested. I've gotten a remote viewer working Wii -> PC. I'm currently making it stable and fixing some of the bugs with WiiMote mapping to the mouse. I've set up a page on the Wiki so if you're interested you can keep track of the development. -by scanff - Homebrew General
I've gotten UDP to work quite well. Maybe paste your code here so we can look or alternately you can download WiiRadio which contains my client/server class. It's inappropriately named client.h :)by scanff - Coding
whodares - that's interesting but this would mean having to load your games via some kind of loader program, right? Just interested as a few people have asked if WiiRadio could run like this. I also wrote a remote desktop viewer Windows to Wii, it would be interesting to create something that went the other way. If not only for a tech demo.by scanff - Homebrew General
It's not possible to directly output VGA from the Wii. You need something like this to convert the signal.by scanff - Homebrew General
I believe before you do anything with the network you must set it up like so. char localip[16]; char gateway[16]; char netmask[16]; s32 ret = if_config ( localip, netmask, gateway, TRUE); if (ret>=0) { printf ("network configured, ip: %s, gw: %s, mask %s\n", localip, gateway, netmask); }else{ printf("Fail"); }by scanff - Coding
Hi all, I've got some general questions and gripes about threads. Q - What is the priority parameter for. Are there any suggestions on what a good value is? Q - Do you need to fill in the stack size or can this be 0. On windows leaving this 0 means the OS will set a default size. Is this the case with libogc? Also if I'm not passing an argument to the thread should I leave tby scanff - Coding
hummm ... Yeah It's the ultimate in laziness connecting to your computer from the wii so you can browse the net or play a game from the couch. But what the heck I wrote a simple remote desktop client/server some years back I guess I'll port the client to Wii just for fun. Bandwidth maybe an issue when running a game but if we keep the windows box running at 640x480 getting a decent frby scanff - Homebrew General
no use. but just because it would be interesting. (to me at least).by scanff - Homebrew General
Don't think its possible. Firstly like I said I can't think of a way to capture the screen. Secondly, The application would need to run in the background and allow you to continue playing games or doing whatever on the Wii.by scanff - Homebrew General
Would logmein work on the Wii? I think this is a commercial remote desktop viewer there are others like gotomypc.by scanff - Homebrew General
You could configure it to connect via whatever tcp port you wanted. I think 5900 is default. But this is viewing a computer on the Wii. and not the other (I can't think of a way to capture the screen of the Wii).by scanff - Homebrew General
Yes, possible and not to difficult to port. If your after a VNC server then you'd need a way to capture the wii's screen which I don't believe is possible right now. ninjafish1990 - VNC uses a port and would be handled by the TCP layer, no need to worry about compatibility there. Also I suggested this under this thread - I may actually attempt coding this but right now mby scanff - Homebrew General
is open source. It would not take a huge amount of time to port the client to wii.by scanff - Homebrew General
