Actually you don't have to use the Gamecube, you can buy this and it allows you to play Gamecube games with cheats using a NEW Action Replay Disc on the Wii. It used to only work on the GC but now it supports the Wii. My cousin has it and I have used it at his house before and it works fine on the Wii so I know for sure it works on the Wii also. Hope this helps. Later. Elmoreasby elmoreas - Getting Started

Hey all, I will not post the link because it is a pirate site obviously. I accidently found it while trying to find some more free, legit, homebrew games. Anyways they were selling HBC/Hackmii/DVDx/BannerBomb/Bootmii/and packages of illegal apps and games. Where can I report this site to without getting myself involved? Also how do I notify the makers of things like hackmii/bootmii that tby elmoreas - Homebrew General
Would they not also need a Wii and a PC too? I know that is a stupid question but I was told earlier the Wii had nothing to do with the Privated key so I was wondering what the bruteforcer ran on the PC actually bruteforced the key out of? Thanks. Elmoreasby elmoreas - Offtopic
Ok answer me these simple questions. Is there ANYWAY, to out of sheer luck get the key? If yes, is anyone even trying? If no, why not, what do they need to try? Elmoreasby elmoreas - Offtopic
I stayed up all night and have been connecting and recuva'ing old ide drives to my external backup drives and then disconnecting them and moving on to the next. I now have recovered all the data or most of the data I have ever lost off of pretty much every PC I have ever owned. As I always keep the HDD before parting out the PC just in case I need storage space or something. Glad I did tby elmoreas - Offtopic
Oh sorry I must have missed that post. So I guess my idea is a no go. But that was to be expected. Oh well there is always option number 2..... Elmoreasby elmoreas - Offtopic
Sifjar, That recuva works miracles, seriously. I just ran it on my SD card and got back some pics I thought were lost forever, I also ran it on my PC and got back files from before my last PC crash. I had to quick format the drive when I reinstalled windows, and I lost a ton of files and I just got back every single one! :) I cannot believe this thing is free, I would have honestly paid $50-$1by elmoreas - Offtopic
Again another noob with another "?possibility?". If I understand the privated key correctly, it is the same on all Wii's so the same code and encyrption is used on each Wii. Instead of linking PCs to bruteforce one Wii why not try the opposite, in a sense anyways. Have people run a bruteforcer on their Wii when they are not using it and have their PC's linked only to share whatby elmoreas - Offtopic
Ok I checked both sites. Wii Brew Wii seems like a totally ill-legit place as the first thing that pops up when you get there is the source code for the DIP plug in, plus all kinds of links to other pirate-y stuff. I won't be going there again. PDroms on the other hand was great. Most of it was available here, but there were some nice homemade homebrew games for the Wii that had picsby elmoreas - Offtopic
AFAIK the Final version is either dead or a long ways off, but the Beta4 is so incredibly stable and reliable that I too have not heard of any person having trouble with it. I have it on all 3 of my Wii's over time and now and had no issues with any of them. It is a good and IMHO safe app. I think in this case you are new and do not realize that though you are worrying about a just issue, itby elmoreas - Getting Started

I am new to hacking the Wii so this is probably a dumb question but I would like to know the answer anyways. Is the private key that unlocks boot2 unique to each Wii, or if you successfully bruteforced one Wii would you be able to unlock boot2 on all Wii's? elmoreasby elmoreas - Offtopic
It seems a little lacking in some places. How do you sumbit to the wiki? Like if you want to write a tutorial for something you have done & gotten good at, & want to help others that are just begining HBC, learn how to do. Thanks. Elmoreasby elmoreas - Feedback & Support
Thanks for the info, will check them out and see what they have that is legal. Later. Elmoreasby elmoreas - Offtopic
Cause I am new and stupid. ;) and wrong. So I would support this so ignore my previous bit about not supporting doing it. I would do it as it would be legal. I misunderstood and am sorry. So I guess putting multiple PCs on it is out since it involves hacking a single Wii. Too bad too cause having boot2 would be nice. Again sorry for the noob mistake. Please forgive me. elmoreasby elmoreas - Offtopic
What about having a Tutorial section for new people to use? More experienced users could contribute to it at will by writing a tutorial on a certain HBC related topic and then sumbit it to an admin or mod for approval and then they post it with credit to the writer. This way nothing inappropriate or wrong gets posted and our site becomes that much more valuable as a refernce tool for new people gby elmoreas - Feedback & Support
I support hacking the Wii just not Nintendos servers that is illegal is it not, if it is not illegal then I am not against it and I misunderstood the post and I am sorry. I am only against illegal stuff and that sounded illegal. Elmoreasby elmoreas - Offtopic
I was wondering if anyone knew of any safe and legal sites to get LEGIT HBC games, like the ones you can download from HBB? I know GBAfail has them, but I don't want to use them as they support piracy. Don't get me wrong this site has tons, I just wondered if there were any other good HBC sites with legit free games that maybe are not on this site? Thanks in advance. Sincerelby elmoreas - Offtopic
Not that I would support this idea but I am just curious if this is possible, but there are cpu sharing programs out there where people donate their PC's downtime to a project to do something, such as the pie calculation project. Would it not be possible to get a group of people to use their PC's in tandom to run multiple bruteforce attacks at the same time in effect multiplying theby elmoreas - Offtopic
You are right in that what he is doing is unlikely to create a brick, I just go under the motto of better safe than sorry. That is why I reccomended it so highly. BUT as I said it is just my opinion so it is only worth what you want it to be worth. I personally would play it safe and do everything I could to protect my Wii so as to avoid something down the road. You just never know what can happeby elmoreas - Getting Started
Bootmii as boot2 is a LIFESAVER if you have a NAND dump backup and you are in a brick situation. If your wii is old enough to have it as stated above your warranty is expired so I suggest doing it. It will be what saves your Wii if you ever brick it. I seriously cannot overstate the importance of having bootmii as boot2 with a NAND dump backup if your lucky enough to have a Wii capabby elmoreas - Getting Started
I am a total idiot, the dates do not line up on his conversion post and the last release of xyzzy. Bootmii now includes the keys in the NAND dump. Sorry to have wasted your time. I should have compared the dates before asking. Elmoreasby elmoreas - Homebrew Applications
If worst came to worst and you had to use bushings NAND Conversion service due to a brick; You have to have 2 things ahead of time from the damaged Wii: 1. A NAND dump from Bootmii 2. The keys from xyzzy So I was thinking of getting this info from each of my Wiis for a worst case scenario, but I have a question to ask before I begin. Is xyzzy a safe app to run, or is it a dangerous app? Iby elmoreas - Homebrew Applications
Without installing dvdx and trying to watch a movie is there a way to know for sure if your white Wii has the new drive type or not? I would like to watch dvd's on my Wii, but I don't want to install anything extra on my wii that I don't have to, especially if I can find out ahead of time that it won't work anyways. Ex. knowing your drive chip type, serial number lookup of modby elmoreas - Ideas, requests
Nintendo no longer repairs Wiis that have been altered with HBC. They will send it back with a note saying it has been altered and is not fixable. They no longer just charge for it, now they out right refuse to fix it. You will have to use a 3rd party repair shop, and I am not sure they will be able to fix this, sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I think infectus is your only option. Elmoreasby elmoreas - FixMii
If you need to use a USB accessory that requires a driver and it has a Linux driver you can install it and use it on the Wii, that is one benefit. Other than that I do not know. I do not use it either, but I heard someone mention this once so I thought I would bring it up. Later. Elmoreasby elmoreas - Wii Linux
All I can tell you is if it requires a driver to work on a PC it will not work on the Wii. It has to be true plug and play to work on the Wii. If you want a wireless mouse for the Wii you may be out of luck as I have not heard of any that work. But I could be wrong, there might be some out there that do work, and I just don't know about them. If you find one that works post about it as Iby elmoreas - Homebrew Applications
Yes I can do that. Sorry. Guess I get so carried away with an idea I forget to use the enter key. Will do on ones that need to be long and will try to keep the rest short from now on. As for this topic, I thought it would be a good way to keep up with traffic levels and specific people at a glance. But obviously I am the only one who likes the feature so IMO, dead issue.
