A third party repair shop could fix it for you if you do not feel comfortable doing the repair work yourself. Some sell the parts as well as the labor others require that you provide the parts. I suggest you go with one that sells the parts and installs them, but that is just my opinion. I had to have a drive repaired as well as some other stuff done and had great luck with I highly reccomend thby elmoreas - Getting Started
Well I think the consensus is in on this idea. Put this one down in the no category. ;) Oh well it was just a thought. Elmoreasby elmoreas - Feedback & Support
The short answer, Nope. The long answer you are going to need a savemii and wait for a game to come out with 4.3 on it, whenever that is released, or you are going to have to send it back to Nintendo and pay to have it fixed because it was altered. This is assuming it is a full brick. You didn't really give that much info so it is hard to provide help. If you want true support, go to theby elmoreas - Getting Started
Its just a useful little feature I have seen on other forums, those are only two examples of why it is useful. It can help in the creation of buddy lists it can help people know what time of day is the best time to get on and ask a question here vs. the irc due to the # of people on at various times, it makes finding and sending a PM to someone who is currently online that much more easier, it leby elmoreas - Feedback & Support
I have an idea for improving the forum that should not be that hard to implement code wise. I have seen it on many other forums so it must not be that difficult. It is a little banner at the bottom of the main page that shows who all is on the forum that does not have the option "hide me" checked in their account prefrences. It is very useful in that it lets you know who all is on that doesn'by elmoreas - Feedback & Support
Clean the drive with this if it still fails then it is likely that the drive has physically gone bad. It is unlikely that a particular game caused it, it was just the game that happend to be in the drive when it finnaly gave out, IMHO. If you have HBC installed and you send it to Nintendo to be repaired it will come back with a note say altered and not repairable. In this case I suggest bby elmoreas - Offtopic
Good call on the Wii Linux there are tons of drivers for it and if you buy a hub just make sure it supports linux, simply check the box before you buy it and you are good to go. Or just buy a plug and play one and then it doesnt matter but they are always limited to 4 ports so the max you could have is 8 ports on your Wii. 4 coming off of each port, for a total of 8, but who needs more than 8 usbby elmoreas - Ideas, requests
I tried a generic plug and play hub that needs no drivers to work on a PC and it worked on the Wii but my good hub that has more slots, 2 powered ones, and requires a driver to work, did not work when put on the Wii so it depends on the hub used. As far as I can tell you have to use simple plug and play ones that have 4 ports (maybe more, mine had 4) to get it to work on the Wii. The only hang upby elmoreas - Ideas, requests
Right now I need people to go to my website www.mymainbackup.com and download my saves in .bin format and test and see if they work and report back and let me know so we know if we can use the .bin format or not with the app. Once we get the app programmed and I get the saves made and the website setup then we will need all kinds of testers for the app itself. Of course it is going to be a whileby elmoreas - Ideas, requests
I took some of my random saves from some of my each of my Wiis and put them in a folder and zipped them and put them on the website that I plan to use for this project. I wanted to test and see if people can use the .bin fomat. If anyone is willing to help test this theory pleaase go to and download the zip file and follow the instructions below the download and then post back here and tell me iby elmoreas - Ideas, requests

I am not sure what you mean by a Wi-Fi save, I know what Wi-Fi is and I think you are talking about saves from games that are from DLC games or Saves that were made using online play modes in the game. While true some DLC games are copy protected savegame extractor can get around that and once I extract the save game I will have a friend of mine on Wiisave who lives in England, and has an app thaby elmoreas - Ideas, requests
I went with the .bin format because that is what the files are formated in when you go and get them off your sd card from your Wii but I could always change that, this idea is in the very early stages and open to changes. I am very familar with how saves work and are transfered both with savegame extractor/installer and with websites like wiisave and apps like media manager pro and wii node/wii mby elmoreas - Ideas, requests

I am looking for an app coder to collaborate with and share 50-50 all rights and prestige for this app with. I have an idea for an app and I am willing and able to do the hard leg work for it I just need someone to do the coding of the app itself, which is no small thing. It would be a app similar to codedownloader where you could download saved games instead of codes. They would be installed dirby elmoreas - Ideas, requests

Issue: My nextdoor neighbor and my friend has a young kid and he was messing around with his dad's Wii and got into the HBC apps tonight and got into TBR or Dop IOS Mod (Not sure which he is too young to ask and get a straight answer) and messed up the system menu IOS. I am installing a modchip so I can be sure that my system will not update on me and cause problems cause of HBC and the mods I have made with it to my system. I have not done any pirate mods and this modchip is not for backups as I do not support piracy it is just for the update blocker hardware, I don't trust the software and I want to be sure. huh well there goes homebrew on the DSi, I knew I should have got the DSLite. Oh well it does what I want it to and more I just cant get cheat codes and old games via emulators. Not a big loss. Thanks for the input. Elmoreasby elmoreas - Offtopic
I was asking about DSi but there is an ACEKART 2i which is supposed to be legal as it uses only DS Homebrew converted to run on the DSi via a flashcart but it is a DS flashcart. I was thinking of getting one but if it is illegal then I am not. Are you sure it is illegal, this 2i is brand new and is supposed to be a legal work around. Let me know what you think. Thanks. I know this is the Wii HBC forums but I have searched yahoo for the DS HBC equivalent and all I can find is gba***p and I would rather not use them, since they allow piracy, or practically do. Is there an equivalent of this place and its wiki for the DS? If so could someone please post a link. Thank you in advance. Have a happy holidays. Sincerely, Elmoreasby elmoreas - Offtopic
It didnd't work, it says that my IOS 36 rev is newer than the 3351 that it is trying to install so it fails and goes back to HBC. No side effects but it leaves me back at square one. I tried google searching too and couldn't even find a decent w***z method for 249, not that I would have done it since I don't support that kind of thing. So with this much time put into it and no luckby elmoreas - Homebrew General
Sweet thank you, nice work around. I didn't know TBR could do that or I would have done that and skipped all this. Ha ha :D Anyways I will give it a try and report back, if I have any issues I will write down exactly what it says. Thanks again. Sincerely, Elmoreasby elmoreas - Homebrew General
