QuoteSif JarYou can use CustomizeMii from the WiiBrew wiki, but it cant donwload legal base WADs for some reason, so for it to be legal, you have to find a legal base WAD yourself and load it. I have used used CustomizeMii and have not had this problem. Are you unable to download any base WAD or just a particular one? Quotesak904But this does keep my current system menu version, correct?by jbc007 - Homebrew General
Did you install IOS 60 version 6174 before installing system menu 4.1? If not then that is your problem. You will most likely have to buy a nand flash device and reflash your nand.by jbc007 - FixMii
Because it can be used for piracy.by jbc007 - FixMii
Yes, you do not need to keep the NAND backup on your SD card.by jbc007 - Getting Started
If you really want to make custom channels you can use CustomizeMii, but it is probably easier to just launch the programs from the homebrew channel. Installing custom channels is likely to banner brick your wii, although that is easy to fix with Bootmii.by jbc007 - Getting Started
Dop-IOS Mod is a program that downloads IOSes, channels, and system menus from Nintendo's servers and installs them on your wii. IOS 60 is used by system menu 4.0 and 4.1. IOS 61 is used by the shop channel. IOS 70 is used by system menu 4.2. Reinstalling MIOS and maybe BC as well should allow you to run game cube games through the disc channel. You can download these with NUS Downloaby jbc007 - Homebrew General
The shop channel does not require IOS 70. I installed the latest shop channel with WiiSCU version 0.21 but never installed IOS 70 and it works fine.by jbc007 - Homebrew General
QuoteWikiFSXAutoboot seems to only install updates. A game patched to autoboot will autoboot the game. This worked with Twilight Princess so as to use the Twilight Hack, but that required the Twilight Hack save file to already be on the wii. What you are refering to is an update being installed from a normal (not autoboot) game.by jbc007 - Getting Started
Your wii is banner bricked, so, as you found out, an update will not fix it. Also, you can't boot a fakesigned disc with the 3.3 update or newer. If you could auto-boot the US version of Brawl, you could use Smash Stack to run AnyTitle Deleter and delete the WAD that is causing the problem, however, I think someone mentioned that, for some reason, this does not work. Could someone claby jbc007 - Getting Started
1) None that we can talk about here 2) It should work as long as your brother's wii has the same boot1 version and the same or newer version of boot2 as your wii.by jbc007 - FixMii
It is actually a hardware issue. "LU64" Wiis have new hardware that is not compatible with old IOSes. Bushing mentioned this here.by jbc007 - FixMii
The sandisk 2gb card will work. System menu 3.4 and older will not read SDHC cards.by jbc007 - Getting Started
Are you using Bannerbomb version 2 and going to the SD card menu? If you are and it still is not working, you could use Smash Stack or Indiana Pwns instead.by jbc007 - Getting Started
Find the title ID of the backup loader and delete it with AnyTitle Deleter.by jbc007 - Homebrew General
Install either system menu 3.2 or 4.1. If you want 3.2, install IOS 30 version 1040 and then install system menu 3.2 for your region. If you want 4.1, install IOS 60 version 6174 and system menu 4.1 for your region. Before installing a system menu, you must install the correct version of the system menu IOS as I mentioned above or else you will brick your wii. Also, if you have a newer wiiby jbc007 - FixMii
Sometimes it shows up for me, but not always. If I launch it from the system menu but do not run anything with it, it will not appear in my logs. If I do run a homebrew program, sometimes (possibly always, I don't remember) it will appear in the log. When I launch it from anything other than the system menu, it never appears in the log.by jbc007 - Homebrew General
Bannerbomb is never installed on the wii so it cannot be uninstalled, although you can delete it from your SD card.by jbc007 - Homebrew General
Restoring a NAND backup will restore your wii to exactly the condition it was in when you made the backup. If you ever have reason to remove them, you can uninstall Bootmii, DVDx, and the Homebrew Channel with the Hackmii Installer.by jbc007 - Homebrew General
Sorry that you were unable to fix your old wii. Use this guide to install homebrew on your new wiiby jbc007 - FixMii
Sure, but it may be better for him to install the MPlayer cIOS rather than the old DVDx since it will not be deleted by the system menu.by jbc007 - Homebrew General
I think that he would also need to downgrade an IOS to use it.by jbc007 - Homebrew General
True, but only if you use Hackmii Installer 0.4 or older. If you use a newer one it will install the new DVDx which will not work with anything yet. Edit: If I remember correctly, 4.2 fixes the bug used by the old Hackmii Installer, so an older IOS must be installed before using it.by jbc007 - Homebrew General
You can't use DVDs with MPlayer CE on system menu 4.2 until it is updated to work with the new DVDx, unless you install the MPlayer cIOS.by jbc007 - Homebrew General
If the game is from the same region as your wii then it is safe to update. Installing an update from a different region will brick your wii.by jbc007 - Getting Started
Use NUS Downloader to download a system menu for your region and its IOS (for system menu 3.2 PAL you need system menu version 290 and IOS 30 version 1040) and have it pack them into WADs. Place the WADs in a folder called wad on the root of your SD card and put it in your wii. Then make an auto-boot WadImport disc, run it with savemii, and install the WADs. Be sure to install the IOS before tby jbc007 - FixMii
I am just thinking hypothetically as it is true that there is no reason to downgrade boot2. If boot2 v2 was installed on a wii with a fixed boot1, but boot2 v3 was installed immediately after without turning off the wii, and therefore not loading boot1 again, would the wii still be bricked? If so, is it because boot2 v3 would still have to be fakesigned?by jbc007 - Homebrew General
This is a really stupid idea, but would it be possible to install a fakesigned boot2 v2 and then update it to version 3 (without turning off the wii untill boot2 v3 is installed)? Or would boot2 v3 still have to be fakesigned?by jbc007 - Homebrew General
Installing the shop channel from another region with Dop-IOS mod will not change your shop channel region.by jbc007 - Testing Corner
In the mean time you could install DVDx with the HackMii Installer 0.4 or older. That will work for now, but if you ever update to 4.2 it will be deleted.by jbc007 - Getting Started
The current HackMii Installer deletes the old homebrew channel, but not the old DVDx.by jbc007 - Offtopic
