Lol, whether you are asking questions, answering them or just reading, there is always the opportunity to learn. It is a nice community; I was told not to be afraid to get involved, same applies here. We all feel in over our heads and a little newbish at the start.by PhoenixTank - Homebrew General
hahah! It happens to me too. At least we have a decent amount of helpful people here :Pby PhoenixTank - Homebrew General
Quoteif I deleted the homebrew channel off my wii, updated to 4.0, and then used Bannerbomb to use the Hackmii installer, i still can't get the HBC back without also using bootmii, am I understanding that correctly? Yes, you use the hackmii installer, but don't have to install bootmii too. Gecko OS ignores the update partition on disks too, I believeby PhoenixTank - Homebrew General
Backups aren't supported :Dby PhoenixTank - The Junkyard
The bug with 1.02 is an odd one. ...and to clarify the wiki says SD or SDHC. You aren't forced to use SDHC on 4.0, you just can't use a SDHC for the hack on anything less than system menu 4.0 Have fun =) /me throws rocks at Kage?by PhoenixTank - Getting Started
Are these cards SDHC or just SD? If it is the former see this link: FS#35 - 1.0.2: SDHC card failureby PhoenixTank - Getting Started
Yeah, I think you need to have bootmii already, and a backup of your wii filesystem, too... bugger. Sounds like a modchip is the way forward. Probably worth waiting until others see the post, and they can at least advise you on a suitable modchip, or correct me. (I don't post in this subforum much, simply because I can't answer many questions) You're welcome, what goes aroundby PhoenixTank - FixMii

Follow the branches You seem to be banner bricked, like you said. Soo... follow Branch A. Your next move is maintenance mode (Power on your wii and at the initial health warning message hold down both the + and - buttons then press A.)by PhoenixTank - FixMii

Ah, so it isn't just a set of specific cheats that are enabled. I've tried SSBB hacks before. Lost my save data after several months of playing heavily. Avoiding it, lol. Err, figured that it was an app that had a page on wiibrew. Official Gecko OS code manager? I think is where you'd want to ask.by PhoenixTank - Getting Started

QuotenintendudeOh, now you tell me! :P @Phoenix Tank: I just did what you said and used Homebrew Browser to download (quicker and easier) and I've been playing Brawl+ for the past 2 days now! :) It is easier, eh? =) K, going to be sneaky here and get my own question in. What is this brawl+ thing I'm hearing about? Quotenintendude Alright, down to two more questions: 1) For theby PhoenixTank - Getting Started
Ah, okay. Your best option is the hackmii installer from http://bootmii.org/ Put the hackmii_installer.elf file in the root of your SD. Start up Loadmii, find the hackmii installer and run it. You'll see a warning screen and eventually be able to press 1 to proceed. Beyond that, you need to just choose to install HBC from there. Don't worry about the DVDx or Bootmii options right nby PhoenixTank - Getting Started
Which version of banner bomb are you using? (the v10x part, not the aadxx part)by PhoenixTank - Getting Started
It is one of the options as part of the Hackmii Installer. Just launch from HBC. You also need a media player application, as DVDx only enables it.by PhoenixTank - Getting Started
I appreciate the code snippet. Makes sense, and is somewhat like what I was expecting, but I think that cache "peculiarity" would have messed with my head for several hours. Just to double check, since HBB is closed source, would you object if I used the snippet in an app?by PhoenixTank - Homebrew Applications
Hey there teknecal. Just tested the write lock switch. Using a microSD in a SD adapter. Network initialises, then "Could not write to SD" appears, along with a prompt about the write switch, then returns me to HBC. Seems to work fine, but I'm curious, is it a simple check or something more complex? Thanks for the bug explanation too.by PhoenixTank - Homebrew Applications
No luck, eh? Worth a shot to try changing the video signal settings in Gecko OS, maybe? Beyond that, it looks like Gecko OS doesn't support it yet... and your best bet would be to check their forums and post thereby PhoenixTank - Homebrew Applications
Glad to know it helped out =) @WaxyPumpkin Probably, though I don't really know what we can do beyond direct him to this thread. I can only figure it is corruption of some kind, but don't really have a clue. May leave a message on the talk page later.by PhoenixTank - Homebrew Applications
Nice release! Thanks for the hard work. One point, the wii pointer seems laggy/stuttery for me. Known issue?by PhoenixTank - Homebrew Applications
Not for this app. You need the gecko1901 folder from gecko.zip\Gecko1901\Gecko1901\HBC\ If in doubt, use the HBBrowser to download it.by PhoenixTank - Getting Started
Honestly, I can't provide any help for the wiimote trick. I have yet to try it myself, and my use of bannerbomb has been out of curiosity, and essentially took it on faith from that thread. Unfortunately, Comex can't fix it yet... because he can't reproduce it. A reliable alternative is using a cube controller for the install, if you have one. Yes, you can delete them, Nintenby PhoenixTank - Getting Started
Can't guarantee the accuracy of this one since I haven't tested that part, but as soon as you click the yes to "load boot.dol" on bannerbomb, touch nothing until the wiimote turns itself off. Edit: try waiting longer - Not sure how long it takes. More info here. You can't install bootmii as boot2 (but still can as an IOS) Just stick with HBC (and DVDx if you want to enable DVDby PhoenixTank - Getting Started
A very weird bug. As I said up there, I had it crap up for me earlier. I now have Mplayer CE and FCE ultra GX downloaded via hbb without issue. Essentially, I did a fresh "install" of HBB: settings, images and all. Delete your Homebrew Browser folder from \apps\ Delete the \temp\ folder (may or may not be in the root of the sd, but it contains .png files for the applications - if it containsby PhoenixTank - Homebrew Applications
I don't suppose you could do a very basic MS paint mock-up of what you want the layout to be like? I literally mean something as simple as boxes with text. I'm a visual person, and I'm not 'getting' your description. A struggle for me to help otherwise =/by PhoenixTank - Homebrew General
Extract the banner bomb zip to the root.. so.. it'd end up being sd:\private\wii\title\aktn\content.bin That is the important part, and yes put the hackmii installer in the root.
