Why not just run an exploit to load your games executable directly or just install the HBC?by Arikado - Ideas, requests
You dont have anything named "Level" in your "levelManager" class definition. Edit: Just realized "Level" is in the levelManager.cpp file. Still though, thats bad practice to use it like that. I cant even imagine all the scoping problems that's going to give you. Move it into your levelManager class.by Arikado - Coding
IIRC Savegame Extractor/Installer requires cIOS 249 to work. That's why I made Savegame Manager MOD; So people could use any IOS they wanted so long as it had NAND permissions (many older IOSs do so no patching is required unlike the original programs). Having said all this, it's entirely possible (but extremely difficult) to write an application which doesn't need any IOS (or Iby Arikado - Homebrew General
Hey, I noticed that too but I've been unable to get any of the SDL Mixer code to link properly (it compiles just fine). I made an issue about it here and talked to Tantric about it on IRC (I will look up his response when I get back to my machine with mIRC on it) but I really didn't get anywhere. Heretic and Hexen both have SDL Mixer components too so I would just love to be able toby Arikado - Homebrew Applications
Apparently you didn't read ekeeke's response very carefully. Netplay components would have to be (mostly) rewritten from scratch to work on the Wii. To that end, it would make more sense to extend the current build of SNES9x GX to include netplay support.by Arikado - Ideas, requests
256MB as your card needs to be at least that big to be formatted to FAT. However, at least 1GB is recommended.by Arikado - Getting Started
QuoteMrPeanutQuoteArikadoThanks for the help. I put your classic controller scheme in the WiiDoom repository now. Regarding music, I'm seeing how other engines like zdoom and such do it and seeing if I can use their methodology in any way. Im also looking at emulating with the sound chip used via code in Tantric's DOSBox port. It will take time, but I think (hope) I will get it eventby Arikado - Homebrew Applications

There was a small shop channel update after the 4.3 update. It's probably just that - harmless IOS and channel updates. If it was even a small threat to homebrew, it would be all over WiiBrew by now ;-)by Arikado - Homebrew General

Energizer/ShadowSpace/ShadowMaster1229/CrystalSpark/awiiprogrammer/Irrlicht, why are you having a conversation with yourself? And why is this hundredth time you've chosen to amuse yourself like this ( )? Edit: Multiple edits made as more accounts were discovered.by Arikado - Getting Started
For Heretic, Hexen, and Doom new high-res textures means a major engine rewrite. The same is probably the case in Wolfenstein 3D :-(by Arikado - Homebrew Applications
It's not a weird request at all. Especially considering how cheap it is to fix a bricked Wii than buy a new one. Bricked Wii's seem to sell for around $20-$30 on eBay so that's probably your best bet unless someone here can give you a better offer.by Arikado - Offtopic

QuoteDaidYou don't if you can avoid it. Start out with GRRLIB, and look at the GRRLIB (and other libraries) sources if you need to know how to use GX yourself. I think libwiisprite is better for beginners. He also said in another topic that he was pro-C++ so libwiisprite is better for him in that regard.by Arikado - Coding
Sorry about that man. I don't know of any other way to contact him unfortunately. If you want you're free to run your code questions/suggestions by me as I have a bit of experience with the code and the Wolfenstein 3D engine. If you've already made improvements to the source you're best bet is to probably just release it under a new name being sure to give credit to mrpnut wheby Arikado - Homebrew Applications
You don't program in GX. You program with GX. GX is written in C. There really isn't any very clear documentation on it at all aside from the nehegx examples in your devkitPRO installation and the commented information in the GX header files.by Arikado - Coding
QuoteawiiprogrammerWow you guys are really selfish and boring, you can't even answer one question that I had. I didn't see anything selfish or boring in the post I made. In fact, I went out of my way to make sure it was helpful and written in a positive manner. What I see is a frustrated kid who's out of his league and no longer willing to try to step up to the plate. Shame becauseby Arikado - Coding

QuoteawiiprogrammerI'm not calthephenom whatever that is. I mean an operating system for the computer, that has everything to make wii games and all sorts of development. I don't know if you've heard but there's this brand new technology called Windows, Linux, and Mac which do this.by Arikado - Offtopic
I think point everyone is getting at is this: There are very few tutorials available for Wii homebrew programming and even less people available willing to teach others how to do so. For experienced programmers, this isn't a problem. All the documentation they need is inside the libogc header files. For new programmers it is obviously a rather large problem. However, at this point in tby Arikado - Coding
I always use the comments on the CodeMii blog to let Teknecal know of my work I wish to see on the homebrew browser. He always sees it and usually gets it up in about a week.by Arikado - Homebrew Applications
You should really use e-mail instead of a private forum to convey these types of messages to a single person. I'm closing this for now but Tantric is of course welcome to reopen it if he wishes.by Arikado - Homebrew Applications
Glad you asked here because you lost your sense of what you were doing :-( Youtube tutorials will do that to a guy :/ Anyways, yes, its as simple as wiibrew.org says it is and it always has been. Just use Indiana Pwns to install the Homebrew Channel and BootMii and then backup your NAND with BootMii. You could probably get it all done in less than five minutes. Ever since this post DarkNation and I have been working pretty hard on getting ALLEGRO to run on the Wii and we've had a fair bit of success. You can find the fruit of our labor here: Still a lot to do but a lot has already been done. We'd love it if some more people would help out.by Arikado - Coding
Step-By-Step: 1) Install devkitPRO . Particularly the devkitPPC section of it. (links and tutorials ) 2) Compile and run the hello world program to ensure you installed it successfully. 3) Download an SVN client 4) Use the SVN client to checkout the source to VBA GX 4.5) Install any additional libraries needed to compile and run VBA GX 5) Compile the source and run the emulator to ensurby Arikado - Getting Started

QuoteSifJarAs for the bumping dead topics issue: I agree (partly) with Arikado that it is better to bump an old topic than start a new one and have the same discussions take place again. However, I feel that in issues such as bricks etc., it is better to start a new topic for an individual's issue. Bumping old topics IMO should only refer to topics discussing a theoretical concept or somethiby Arikado - Feedback & Support
