Yes, cIOS stands for custom IOS. According to the SignCheck file, you do have cIOS 249 (IOS 249 is always a cIOS). I see no reason why you would need to update before using it. So go ahead and try it, and make sure to have it patch the trucha bug into IOS 35. I hope that this works for you, but if you still cannot run AnyRegion Changer after doing this then you will have to do a WAD instaby jbc007 - FixMii
Your wiimote became unsynced. It is not possible to sync a wiimote in Preloader, so you will have to use a gamecube controller. Also, many applications will not work with a gamecube controller, including Dop-IOS I think, so you will have to use Dop-IOS_MOD instead.by jbc007 - FixMii
Are you saying that you can no longer start Preloader? It does not make any sense that that would happen as Dop-IOS does not affect preloader. What exactely happened? Did Preloader just freeze when loading Dop-IOS but you can use it for everything else, or do you mean that Preloader is now completely useless? If you can still use preloader, run Loadmii with Preloader and use it to load Doby jbc007 - FixMii
Dop IOS downloads IOSs from Nintendo's servers, so you do not need to use a WAD. Just run the program and tell it to install and trucha patch the latest version of IOS 35. It will find the file itself.by jbc007 - FixMii
Well, this is very odd. The only thing that I can think of is that IOS 35 might be corrupted, although I do not even know if that could cause this problem. The only thing that I can suggest to get AnyRegion Changer to work is my previous suggestion to use dop-IOS to reinstall IOS 35; however, I cannot guarantee that that would work. Does anyone else know what could be causing this problem?by jbc007 - FixMii
Quotehypershadown the preloader there are two menus: Systemmenu Hacks has tree topics: Replace health warning with backmenu or Region free Wii Games or Skip disc update check or As you probably know, these just have the stated affect on the system menu when they are enabled. Since you can't load the system menu right now, they are useless. QuotehypershadowAnd the Settingsby jbc007 - FixMii
You do get a black screen when you select system menu in preloader, right? I just assumed that this was the case, but if not it could be useful to know. Quotehypershadowby the way what are the correct choices in the prloader menus? I don't quite understand your question. What are you trying to do with it? That is correct. Delete IOS 255 and then try AnyRegion Changer again. Only do a WAD installation if AnyRegion Changer does not work. If you do a WAD installation, be sure to get the right version of IOS 30 (1040) and of the system menu (289) and install the IOS first. If you do not do this exactly, you may ruin your wii unless you have Bootmii. Also, after doing the WAD installation, nby jbc007 - FixMii

@TopGun96: I think that the SignCheck bug that you are referring to does not apply here since it says that IOS 37 does not have the trucha bug (also, isn't the SignCheck bug only on 4.x or something like that?). Any way, version 1040 of IOS 35 is an old version and therefore already has the trucha bug. I believe that AnyRegion Changer makes a temporary IOS 255. My guess is that the preby jbc007 - FixMii
The update to 4.1 includes a stub version of IOS 50, the IOS used by system menu 3.4. When you downgraded your system menu, IOS 50 was probably not downgraded. When you updated from the game it installed system menu 3.4, but did not reinstall IOS 50 since you already had a newer version of it. This left your system menu trying to run off of a stub IOS. I cannot remember if SaveMiiFrii worksby jbc007 - FixMii
It is odd that you are having this problem with AnyRegion Changer, possibly there is something wrong with the IOS that it runs on, but I am not sure. Try running SignCheck. It will make a file called signCheck.csv on your SD card; please post this file, maybe it will reveal something useful. I do not think that preloader not being able to update is a problem. I think that I read somewhere tby jbc007 - FixMii
I have never used the AnyRegion Changer mod, but it seems that a main use for it is to install the Korean system menu, which you do not want to do. These files that you mentioned: cIOS40 - 74 v2321.wad cIOS41 - 74 v2320.wad cIOS43 - 74 v2320.wad are modified versions of IOSes that should only be present in a Korean wii; you have no need for them. Just use the original AnyRegion Changer, tby jbc007 - FixMii
Installing Bootmii is not necessary to fix your wii, you can skip this step if you want. If you do want to install Bootmii then run the Hackmii Installer and have it install Bootmii as Boot 2. It should be obvious what to do when you are in the Hackmii Installer. After installing Bootmii use it to make a nand backup. If you cannot install Bootmii, this will be the case if you have cIOSCORP inby jbc007 - FixMii
Run Anyregion Changer and have it install system menu 3.2 for your region. This will fix your wii, but it will also uninstall preloader. I recommend installing bootmii as boot 2 (if possible) and making a nand backup before doing this incase the system menu installation fails, but this is not nescessary. It is very unlikely that anything will go wrong during the system menu installation. Doby jbc007 - FixMii
I was just about to start the homebrew browser, but first I decided to read the description. Well, after scrolling through the incredibly long description for about thirty seconds, the wii froze. I rebooted the wii and went to the homebrew browser description in the homebrew channel again a few more times and each time, after fifteen seconds to a minute in the description, it would freeze. QuoteDanielHuehoJus as a side-note, cIOS has higher NAND permissions. That's why it can overwrite thes 0xfff IOSes. Does the cIOScorp installer run on cIOS? Otherwise, if I understand it correctly, this should mean that this method will not work since it is installing IOSes with lower version numbers than the ones already installed. In any case, I would rather not attempt this until afteby jbc007 - Offtopic
Oh Although it does not matter because he already had a cIOS installed, the old homebrew channel could have been used to launch the cIOS installer, right? Or would that not work with the messed up IOSes? I am not trying to defend cIOScorp, I do agree that it is a really bad program. I am just curious about whether his wii could have been fixed without a cIOS already installed.by jbc007 - Offtopic
If he did not have a cIOS couldn't he have used the beta 8 installer since that uses the fake sign bug and then just have the homebrew channel update itself to 1.0.3?by jbc007 - Offtopic
Fixing this brick is the easiest thing imaginable, just restore your NAND backup. The button to restore your NAND backup is next to the one to make the backup, it has an arrow pointing from an SD card to a wii. You should use this as a lesson not to mess with fail. Although Bootmii should be able to fix your wii this time, if you continue to use fail, you could get a more serious brick thatby jbc007 - The Junkyard
Is bootmii installed as boot2 or as IOS?by jbc007 - The Junkyard
That solved the problem. When I clicked exit on the hackmii installer after reinstalling the homebrew channel it took me to another page that had some writing on it (can't remember what it said, but it was not important) and an exit button, and froze. However, when I restarted my wii and started the homebrew channel, it worked properly. Thanksby jbc007 - Getting Started
I have system menu 3.3u and have successfully run the hackmii installer with bannerbomb. I have also successfully installed bootmii. When I installed the homebrew channel with the hackmii installer it said that the installation was successful, but when I clicked exit my wii froze. Then, when I rebooted my wii, the homebrew channel appeared, but when I started it, it rebooted the system menu.by jbc007 - Getting Started
