I just received an email from eff.org. It has been filed :-by scanff - Offtopic
Hi all, Firstly it's been sometime since I've posted, yes I'm still here :) I just wanted to let you know that UC Berkeley and the Electronic Frontier Foundation are submitting console specific DMCA exemption requests here in the US. The request is very similar to the I-Phone exemption. I have been in communication giving a case study and statement about my experiences wby scanff - Offtopic
QuotetueidjYeah I know, Arikado gave me a build of it nearly a year ago... the menus worked fine but it always crashed pretty much straight after a game started. I got tired of waiting for you guys to finish so I ported eduke32 myself :P Since it's based on SDL it runs perfect with an actual USB mouse + keyboard (that's what I used for the video), it's optimized enough to run at aby scanff - Coding
@tueidj I did noticed on one of your videos you were porting something myself and Arikado were working on. (Hint: retro 3D game .... " and I'm all outta gum"). We'd got it playable with a few glitches and bugs but never had the time to finish it up. PM me if you are interested in finishing this up with us or taking what you need from our SVN. This would be a great HB releaseby scanff - Coding
QuoteowenMaybe all the games that can be quickly ported to the wii have already been done. Most genres are covered except for Role playing, Racing and online multiplayer shooting games ( but these may require too much work to complete). A lot are ported. However lack of time is my problem. It's also frustrating dealing with the Wii, the GX system is ass-backwards and the processor iby scanff - Coding
Just insert 2GB in computer copy everything to the computer. Insert new sd card copy everything to new sd card.by scanff - Homebrew General
Quotemelonhead87This is probably a stupid and obvious question, but once i run out of space on my 2gb, and i want to upgrade to 4gb or so, what all must i transfer over to the 4gb? I have snes psx n64 emulators along with a few homebrew games. Thanks. I think you answered this yourself.by scanff - Homebrew General
Why are you using GRRLIB_Loadfile to load the file? Just wondering. Don't know anything about that function but I'd think you'd need to free the buffer after use. Also how big is the buffer and the file you are loading? Unless your mp3's are small I would not recommend loading the whole file into mem. Set up a buffering system and pre-buffer a little then read chunks usiby scanff - Coding
QuotedavidchiWow i completely forgot this topic but i have amazing news i finally got a new wii and for how much? 20$! so i also payed attention to your comments and i got a master hacker to make my new wii unbrickable and with the use of usb loader so thanks to you all. Quotebg4545 Quotejacub89Hmmm well xex menu will be the biggest app on hombrew, if it ever comes out. Its possible but it will take at least summer of 2012 to realease this. it depends what requirements your requesting in this app, your first post is hard to calculate. I don't see why you made another account to talk to yourself? lolby scanff - Ideas, requests
Funny though you can if you want. http://forums.dolphin-emulator.com/thread-10502-post-102279.html#pid102279 I did it a while back for some testing.by scanff - Homebrew General
Moving as it's not really code related.by scanff - Homebrew General
I guess I'm lost :( So it has nothing to do with the homebrew browser.by scanff - Ideas, requests
I really can't understand what you're getting at? If you're bashing the HBB then this is not a good place. If you want to develop a PC client or something then all the teknecal's (pun) of it are here Or More specifically would be a starting point. There is PHP code on codemii showing how you would do this. I'd be happy to do it all for you. All you needby scanff - Ideas, requests
Homebrew Browser PC is confusing and a little disrespectful to the Homebrew Browser. If it allows displaying and editing homebrew components and apps etc... What about something like WiiToolKit ... or as a PC App PiiToolKit (I like that one better)by scanff - Offtopic
Yup, VNC is a great tool I use it for server admin. Just don't try playing any games or videos over it :P RDP I've found is better (on windows) as it's a low level driver and does not require outputting a screen on the real computer it also provides audio pass through. Hmmm maybe an RDP client could be ported. likeby scanff - Ideas, requests
Here's what I've used in the past. Uint64 get_tick_count() { const Uint64 ticks = gettime(); const Uint64 ms = ticks / TB_TIMER_CLOCK; return ms; }by scanff - Coding
Quoteowen I think it has been ported to everything. Most of Angry bird's quality is in its art design, not so much the game itself. The art is nice, very simple though. Quoteowen As for an Angry birds clone, I don't think it would solve much, unless you are going to copy all the graphics as well, its almost like Plants V Zombies - 80% artwork. QuoteowenI never saw angry birds as being ver ground breaking either way but Flash as a tool is a great. Well until they started to turn towards a Java style coding structure then I just never looked at it again. If I could run flash apps on the wii I would probably test it out because as a tool its very functional. Of course javascript as its uses but its no Flash GUI replacement. Thanks bg4545, your artwork is always awesome! Daid, I know it. Flash has taken the fun out of game development. I have messed with the javascript version of box2D, that's pretty fun. At least javascript requires a little skill. Funny though I've noticing more and more sites switching back to javascript (JQuery,Mootools etc...) and dumping flash. I've always disliked flash,by scanff - Ideas, requests
I just read this I'm sure many of you have played the latest IPhone/Pad game called Angry Birds. It's basically a physics sim. where you throw birds at towers, much like crush the castle. Well although the company has made $50 million they will not credit Box2D on the game, not even a little thanks. Anyway ... This attitude has made me angry. I was thinking of cloning this onby scanff - Ideas, requests
Just a thought, the simplest method I can think of. I may be totally wrong, not having read all the specs :) - write a simple loader to load the game. - the loader injects a jmp to your code. - your very small stub code cave does something like this. - read a remap config. file per game (no sure of the overhead with this). - peek the controllers state. I'm presuming even if the gameby scanff - Ideas, requests
QuoteSifJarThere's no real need to reinvent the wheel. There are already Ocarina cheat codes (Ocarina is the cheat engine used by Gecko OS) for remapping controls to other controllers. There is one for Donkey Kong Country and I think one for NSMB. If you google a bit, I think you'll find their source (the DKC one was by crediar) in ASM, port it to your game and then its just a questionby scanff - Ideas, requests
QuoteumaggotHow would I get started with something like that? I have Gecko 1.9.3, but I don't understand hooking. Are there any beginner's resources? I have some prior experience with 6502 ASM, would that help? Take a look at the Gecko OS source. If I remember correctly it injects a jump in the video flipper that calls the cheat code then returns. I've not done this on Wii butby scanff - Ideas, requests
You could do it via a special loader, like what Gecko OS does and insert a hook to the re-map code. Of course it's not quite that easy.by scanff - Ideas, requests
