My first homebrew release is up! Wii Double Down is just a simple blackjack game using GRRLIB 4.0. Learned a lot from this first stab including menus, rumble, sfx, music, volume control, animation, and basic card logic (including a blackjack assistant). The only thing i didn't get to on this release that I wanted to was the ability to split... but that should be coming soon. *edit:by mdbrim - Homebrew Applications
GoldWave works like a champ... Open any music file type. Do whatever you want to it... Save as raw from the pull down box... Pick 16 bit signed big endian stereo from another pull down box... works like a charm with ASNDby mdbrim - Coding

doing it like this if(wpaddown & WPAD_BUTTON_A) { x++; } and putting all the GRRLIB commands outside the if statement seemed to fix it. Hey, if it wasn't for us newbs making dumb coding mistakes all you pros wouldn't be so cool! Edited for spelling.by mdbrim - Coding
Very simple piece of code that i modified from the GRRLIB examples. You load it up, you hit the A button, it should just grrlib printf and count up. it doesn't count right! For example... it'll go 1 2 3 4 3 5 6 7 8 7 9 8 11 etc etc. I'm guessing it has to do with the rendering of GRRLIB_PrintF because i'm betting i didn't mess up "x++". here's my code:by mdbrim - Coding
seiken... dude... awesome! Well done man, i started it up to take a quick look and ended up playing for about 40 minutes! I'll be leaving that baby on my wii. Look forward to learning a few things you did from the source code.by mdbrim - Homebrew Applications
ahhhh Wii Shooting gallery... the very first homebrew i ever ran after installing HBC. Brings back memories...by mdbrim - Coding
banner bomb and the twilight hack are exploits used to install the HBC. It's a one time thing you'll do the first time to install the HBC on there and then you can use the HBC to install/run everything else. sorry about that... answered his question before i even saw page 2 ignore!by mdbrim - Getting Started
yeah i agree... even as a newb i found libwiisprite and GRRLIB to both be easy and user friendly... so long as you read up on the tutorials and all the great examples and posts found here.by mdbrim - Coding
i just started programming myself (got a simple little helicopter game going) and i've found grrlib and libwiisprite to be very simple and sufficient for the kinda stuff i'm doing. Plus there are lots of examples and tutorials on grrlib which make it a nice way to start learning.by mdbrim - Coding
yeah that's crazy that having logitech (webcam) would cause that... and even more crazy that someone figured it out!by mdbrim - Coding
well... figured it out. After spamming #wiihelp, posting here, googling like mad, and troubleshooting for 4+ hours... someone suggested #wiidev... 120 seconds later this: [22:56] do you have any logitech software on your machine? seriously... why would this happen?.. i think my Makefile is right: #--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- # Clear the implicit built in rules #--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- .SUFFIXES: #--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ifeq ($(strip $(DEVKITby mdbrim - Coding

Awesome cheenster, thanks for the post! You are correct... patience problem indeed. after about 10 to 15 sec on dosbox it works like a charm. Just like you said, FRODO v10 does not work so maybe i'll try v9. I got this bad boy from gizfever.com because it's wireless and most importantly really small so i just pull it out when i need it and stash it with the wii stuff when i donby mdbrim - Homebrew General
HAHAHA GOD I LOVE CODING!!! ok so after redoing the MakeFile... it is working again... it still gives that same warning in the previous post, but it works. any ideas what that warning means? should/can i ignore it?by mdbrim - Coding
ok after more tinkering and finding this post i get this msg: > "make" helo.cpp c:/projects/wii/helo/source/../../../GRRLIB/GRRLIB/GRRLIB.h:67: warning: inline function 'void GRRLIB_FillScreen(u32)' used but never defined c:/projects/wii/helo/source/../../../GRRLIB/GRRLIB/GRRLIB.h:87: warning: inline function 'void GRRLIB_DrawTile(f32, f32, GRRLIB_texImg, float, float,by mdbrim - Coding
There i was fat dumb and happy coding apps for my wii using an older version of devkitPro when i wanted to start playing with sounds. I noticed that a lot of the posts mentioned that sound stuff was easier with the new release of devkitPro. So i updated. But then all hell broke loose. NONE of my old stuff compiles anymore due to the wiisprite lib not being in the new versions of devkitPrby mdbrim - Coding
i used the Wii's update mech. to upgrade to 4.0U I left the homebrew channel on there to see what the upgrade would do to it. It left it on there, but it stopped working so i just deleted it and reinstalled it. Since the Twilight hack no longer works with 4.0, I used the banner bomb method and it worked like a charm.by mdbrim - Getting Started
hmm, well discovered today that it works if you plug it in after the app has started. Kinda a bummer since i was hoping to leave my "dongle" plugged into the wii and not have to get up and unplug then replug it in every time. i'm guessing the only fix for this is in the way the homebrew is coded.by mdbrim - Homebrew General
I have a wireless usb keyboard that works great in normal Wii apps, but does not work in Homebrew apps. I've tried it on Frodo and DOSBox with no luck. I saw where the DVDX caused some usb keyboard problems so i uninstalled that but still no joy. Any ideas? I have 4.0Uby mdbrim - Homebrew General
