I'm curious about why exactly the Pinkfish Disc uses this IOS. I know why pirates use it, but why Nintendo use it?by DanielHueho - Software
Actually I found info about the CTF at the 25C3 wiki... But I don't remember exactly where on the site.by DanielHueho - Offtopic
QuoteArikadoArgon removed all of the channels they illegally made except for the WAD Manager. Weird enough, the less safe thing to use ever on Wii, and by the way, the WAD Manager banner was also stolen from a guy on GBATemp.by DanielHueho - Offtopic
I'm having exactly the same problem. When I use dollz3, it gives this error message. When I try to run in HBC, it gives the "not a valid Wii aplication". But I tried to compile another app and compress with dollz3 (WiiSX), worked just fine. Maybe is some problem regarding the source code? Or maybe the makefile were updated, I just guessing...by DanielHueho - Offtopic
What?! You mean running these games with Gecko OS?by DanielHueho - Homebrew General
It was a joke =P Still, I don't feel like registering at a forum just for trolling (even if we are right, going there and yelling about the argonchannel would be just trolling)... By the way... Does anyone have some idea of what is argonXchannel?by DanielHueho - Offtopic
If it were compiled using the latest libfat, the binary should have SDHC support...by DanielHueho - Homebrew Applications
Forget it about BootMii. It just take's control of the boot process. Awesome for fixing bricks. But you won't be able to do anything different than what you can do today, unless you push really hard and create some kind of stub to be run by Starlet. So the stub will run in protected memory, and all capture-screen stuff will be done by it... Hey, wait, that's sounds a good idea!by DanielHueho - Homebrew Applications
It's less illegal the service than before, so let's leave them alone for now... Even because that forum is not open to public, you need to register just for viewing the threads, and maybe you need to put your credit card number on the form =Pby DanielHueho - Offtopic
Quotewhodares Maybe you add a check to the SD:/apps/your app/boot.dol; This way they'd need it on the SD card and the SD card in the machine (which is what a channel install is designed to get around). Of course, these aren't infallible tho A check like this would block everyone who runs homebrew using Homebrew Disc Channel, Homebrew Loader and etc... A better way is to check if tby DanielHueho - Offtopic
Theoretically, Wii is capable of multi-threading, since IOS always runs in background when you are using the console. But AFAIK, there's no way to run multiple processes in user level using the tools avaiable at the moment.by DanielHueho - Homebrew Applications
Quoteno-substitute.blogspot.com, in Hackmii blog comex’ bbc.wad is a channel for ftpii Nohing more, but also, nothing less! :-) Wow, is from comex! (at least the WAD) That's very interesting...by DanielHueho - Homebrew General
About your points: A) Is impossible to run CDs on Wii, thanks to the crappy DVD drive =P. And, of course, you could just burn a copy of a legit game or from a illegit download anyways, since implementing the PS1 copy protection on the emulator probably would take much more time than, uhhhhhh, finishing the emulator itself. B) Reading from a SD card is far more faster than reading from a CDby DanielHueho - Homebrew Applications
Hmmm, if you have just installed Homebrew Channel, you can just delete it from the Data Management screen, or using AnyTitle Deleter. Same goes for DVDX. For Starfall, you can use AnyRegion Changer to reinstall system menu 3.2. cIOS theoretically can be easily uninstalled with the right apps (Google it), but there is some rare reports of cIOS messing around with Wii in general*.by DanielHueho - Homebrew General
/\ /\ NO. Updating your Wii doesn't bricks the console, but if you do using internet, disables homebrew. What exactly do you mean by "clean update"?by DanielHueho - Homebrew General
All 25C3 videos are under Creative Commons license, so yes, you can put the file anywhere, WITHOUT modifications.by DanielHueho - Homebrew General
QuoteArikadoGood question. I believe the channels region depends on what region of the twilight hack you use. Actually, I think the installer just grabs the region of the Wii and installs the right version for it. Or maybe is the same version for all regions, the HBC just forces a video mode depending of your console. Just guessing.by DanielHueho - Homebrew General
/\ /\ /\ You mean multi-threading. The only way to do that in Wii (in user level) is running Linux or abandoning your life for a while and get coding =Pby DanielHueho - Homebrew Applications
Well, the DS it's a very complex system. Like, well, almost all videogame systems =P Theoretically I think it's possible, at least considering the "10X of power" rule. But DS is one of the rare platforms that doesn't give any kind of advantage when emulating, IMHO. I mean, my sister have a DS, and I have No$GBA and others, and is so much better to actually touch a screen... Besideby DanielHueho - Homebrew Applications
/\ /\ /\ I was exactly thinking about that. How exactly notdvdx worked? How was installed?by DanielHueho - Homebrew Applications
I think you are using the MPlayer from Team Tweezers. It's good for DVD playback, but for other functions, is kinda lame, and it doesn't support SDHC. For general media files, it's better to use MPlayerWii. Use the tweaked versions that have support to SDHC.by DanielHueho - Homebrew Applications
There are links for various mirrors to download almost all conference recordings...by DanielHueho - Homebrew General
SDLMame for Wii is kinda of a disaster... It's based on a old version of Wii Linux, it doesn't work really well with SD cards, resulting in big loading times, it's buggy... But OK, you didn't asked that =P Maybe is some corrupted file, or your SD card is not well formatted. Also, be sure you disabled WiiConnect 24, even if you don't have a internet connection.by DanielHueho - Homebrew Applications

Simple like that: since a lot of people has coming to the forums to ask about Backup Launcher and warez cIOS, I think it's a good idea to just keep a sticky post warning about how wrong is piracy and specially about how bad is asking about piracy here. Thanks for the attention...by DanielHueho - Feedback & Support
