The Wii will not launch the HackMii installer by itself. If you have BootMii as boot2 installed (I doubt you do), then you can launch bootmini.elf using that. Otherwise, you must buy Lego Indiana Jones in order to use the Indiana Pwns exploit. No other exploit currently exists for European Wiis. Instructions are here:by winmaster - Getting Started
Go into the System Menu settings and do an Internet connection test.by winmaster - Homebrew General
Just a suggestion, but could SaveMiiFrii work if System Menu 4.4 or 5 was released and a game came out with the system menu on it? Or did Waninkoko patch that too.by winmaster - Homebrew General
ActiveX is an Internet Explorer thing. This is not even close to applicable to DSi hacking.by winmaster - Offtopic
Just type the filename in and it will launch it. Its just like DOS used to be.by winmaster - Homebrew Applications
I'm assuming that you are referring the use of the Wii Shop Channel to install the Internet Channel. You can install homebrew on your Wii and still download the Interent Channel. There are homebrew tools that allow you to update your Shop Channel without updating to 4.3. Also, when an updated HackMii Installer is released, you will be able to update to 4.3 and still run homebrew easily.by winmaster - Getting Started
I'd like to know what Nintendo is going to do when Wii2 comes out and everyone wants to transfer their WiiWare to the new console.by winmaster - Homebrew General
It is very unlikely that you will brick with that method. I think the most dangerous part is installing Priiloader, as it modifies the system menu, but the risk is still very small. If you can install BootMii boot 2, the HackMii installer should run after patching IOS 36 (I don't know why everyone says you need IOS 34 patched, when I hacked my Wii it used IOS 36). Is there any chance that the disc is damaged. Maybe the disc read error is because the disc actually cannot be read--by anything.by winmaster - Homebrew Applications
Yes, it sounds like it is fine. The Wiki is referring to the IOS that Priiloader runs on, usually the system menu IOS. In your case, this would be IOS 70. As long as you haven't done anything to IOS 70 (not sure why you would want to) you will be fine.by winmaster - Getting Started
QuoteLordOwlI've tried running on IOS 35 after downgrading, it didn't work still. After downgrading, meaning the downgrade was successful? If this is the case, then you must run on IOS 15 to patch IOS 36.by winmaster - Getting Started
QuoteSifJarThis is a reasonably old topic, from before 4.3. At the time, there was a Shop Channel update released independent of System Menu update (IIRC), and you could safely update through the System Menu and it would just update the Shop Channel. To clarify, before 4.3 came out, updating was ok, but now it is not. Updating to 4.3 will remove the Homebrew Channel, DVDX, and BootMii IOS. It wby winmaster - Getting Started

I leave wc24 off in standby because it made my Wii overheat, causing me to have to send it to Nintendo. This was before I ever used homebrew. Bear in mind that it happened in August and I have no air conditioning. Leaving wc24 on when the Wii is on is find. The only thing turning off standby mode breaks is the News Channel--Nintendo won't let you download news unless they can give it tby winmaster - Homebrew General

Nintendo says the information is only anonymous if you haven't linked your Club Nintendo to your Wii, which I have.by winmaster - Getting Started
Somehow after running Homebrew Channel yesterday, it showed up in my play history. I want to use the Nintendo Channel, and I'm worried that Nintendo will do something armed with the information that I have installed Homebrew Channel on my Wii. Mostly, I'm concerned that if the need to have them service my Wii arises, they will see that I have installed Homebrew Channel via records colleby winmaster - Getting Started
SD cards have a tab that you can slide on the left side. Make sure that it is not in the "locked" position.by winmaster - Getting Started
Did you lock your SD card by any chance? I learned the hard way that locking the SD card breaks some homebrew.by winmaster - Getting Started
Quotecactusjack901QuoteSifJarQuotecactusjack901QuoteSifJarI believe the upcoming app WiiMC (successor to MPlayer CE) will be able to do what you want, but its not out yet, and no word of when it will be released. I"ve never had problems with this SD card, I reformatted it to FAT with everything at default settings (windows format utility), and I"m pretty sure its unlocked but I'll have to check it in the morning. Today when I fired up Homebrew Browser, I was surprised to find that it couldn't start, but I didn't feel like pissing with it. Then I fired up Visual Boy Advance, but I couldn't load files from the SD card, it appeared to be corrupt. When I put it in my computer, the card appeared fine though. Quotecactusjack901Quotedbanhbut im afraid of updating to 4.2 coz cant i brick it pretty easily or something As long as you don't pull out the power cord, or do the update in the middle of a thunderstorm, you should be fine If you haven't hacked your Wii yet and the 4.2 update does brick your Wii, just bitch at Nintendo until they fix it. Quotejbc007If you have recently had your disc drive replaced, this is normal. There is nothing you can do about it. If you have an older disc drive, you probably need to older version of DVDx. Everything released since the 4.2 update works with the new DVDx, but older things only work with the old DVDx, which is deleted by system menu 4.2. It can be installed with the Hackmii Installer 0.4 orby winmaster - Getting Started
