Has anybody figured out what the last Nintendo Zone update does yet? The Wiki still says that it is unknown what has changed. Also, didn't 1.4 break some stuff, because it says that all flashcards were blocked with that update. If a useful exploit is found, I actually hope it isn't released. Maybe Nintendo won't fix it in the 3DS if they do not know it exists.by winmaster - Offtopic

Unless you live in Korea, no update from Nintendo will brick your Wii. Updating is safe but not recommended because there is nothing in the 4.3 update that is useful.by winmaster - Getting Started

The fact that your saving the log file to your SD card while scanning it may be causing problems with the scan. This time, when you open the command prompt, type in the following: C: (This puts the command prompt on a different drive) chkdsk E: /V >report.txt (This tells it to scan your SD card without being on that drive.) Wow, that's one hell of a story. According to the log file you posted, chkdsk found issues with your SD card. Try reformatting your SD card. (Copy all of your files to your computer first.) Then run "CHKDSK /V > DISKREPORT.TXT" at the command prompt again and post the report like you did before.by winmaster - Homebrew General

You can get apps on the homebrew channel by downloading them from wiibrew.org and dropping them on your SD card such that the app is located in rood:\apps\appnamehere\boot.elf or boot.dol When the HackMii installer says that BootMii can only be installed as an IOS, that simply means that your Wii is too new for it to be installed as boot2.by winmaster - Getting Started

The second column is for the Trucha bug or signature checking removal patch. As all of your IOSes say "disabled" in the report, you have signature checking on all of your IOSes and must patch one to install IOS 202.by winmaster - Homebrew General

2GB is the official limit of the SD standard. There were some 4GB "SD" cards that came out before the SDHC standard, though. I put "SD" in quotes there because the SD standard says they cannot really be SD cards at 4GB even though they behave the same way.by winmaster - Homebrew Applications

You will need both nand.bin and keys.bin to restore the backup. They can be safely moved to your computer until you need them. You will also need the /bootmii files to run BootMii, but those can be replaced if lost.by winmaster - Getting Started

You must be on an older System Menu version than 4.2, otherwise games would not request the update. Just allow the game to update and you will be fine.by winmaster - Getting Started

I think that integrating parental controls into the Homebrew Channel is a good idea. You could have a kid friendly flag in the meta.xml file for an app, and have apps without the flag request the Wii's parental control pin before launching. That shouldn't be the problem. The only functional version of IOS16 was installed by a Nintendo repair disc. The only downloadable one is a useless stub, if I am correct. Anyway, I don't believe the HackMii Installer uses it. With my limited knowledge, it looks like its using IOS38 when it fails. Try reinstalling IOS38 using Dop-Mii. If that does not work, you may be able to delete Iby winmaster - Homebrew Applications
