DISCLAIMER: I may not be the best person to ask. With that said, I believe the HackMii installer can uninstall BootMii. If that is not the case, then I believe the best way to remove BootMii would be to run the 4.2 update from Nintendo, *Fail instructions removed*. Nintendo may not choose to do warranty on your Wii if it is modified. I have heard cases where people with Wii's under wby winmaster - Getting Started
Quotekozuki6 I know that bootmii is very useful, but I just don't have any need for it (aside from making a backup of the NAND - though with all the abuse my Wii has endured before I discovered the HBC, I think a corrupted NAND is one of the less likely things that'll brick it). Still, you should backup your NAND in case you ever do install something that bricks your Wii. Not that itby winmaster - Getting Started
Ok, so can I use a cleaning CD to try to fix it, or is that not a good idea. I think Nintendo says you shouldn't, but you can't always trust them.by winmaster - Getting Started
Hmm, I already sent my Wii in due to graphics problems, and they sent me a refurb. This was after the Dual Layer Disc problem arose. Do you think I could still have the problem even though my Wii was serviced by Nintendo after the problem was discovered?by winmaster - Getting Started
Quotebobert094well whats a wiikey? i dont think you need a wii key to get homebrew right? No, its a modchip, and modchips were only necessary for homebrew until the Twilight hack came out.by winmaster - Getting Started
After trying some discs I have lying around, I've found that only single layer DVD-R's are readable. Store bought movies and DVD+R's sometimes work, but they take a very long time to load, and if I stop the video, I cannot restart it. Am I having a problem with MPlayer or is my DVD drive just not ideal for this?by winmaster - Getting Started
I just checked and I have GC2-D2C (v1) for my drive. What discs can this drive read?by winmaster - Getting Started
I have the same problem, only my Wii definitely is not new. It is running system menu 4.2 and I just hacked it with Bannerbomb yesterday. It appears that the problem is with Dual Layer discs and a recent update of some kind, as single layer discs with less than 4.3 GB of video work for me and others with the same problem.by winmaster - Getting Started
