The only thing not supported on that page was the youtube vid which explained how to install the homebrew channel (and unfortunately how to play backups) Seeing this is a homebrew forum and is only linked to from the wiibrew site, and the HBC guide is already explained there, most of you already have homebrew and would have easily skipped to the ACTUAL guide. And nothing in that guide is unsupporby Molzo - Homebrew General
Sorry, didn't know you guys weren't strong enough to skip the homebrew channel installation part. Well, if anyone is still interested, i can put up a link to a youtube vid WITHOUT homebrew installation. And please don't tell me .pac files are illegal or i'll shoot myself.by Molzo - Homebrew General
QuoteWaxyPumpkin72QuoteArikadoQuoteWaxyPumpkin72The methods for texture hacking aren't supported here. Isnt there a way to do it with Gecko OS and an SD Card? (I may be wrong) Yes, with brawl. But not with Mario Kart. I didn't see the guide that Molzo posted before it was edited out, and I assumed it was the Gecko OS/SD card method. On that assumption, I thought that the Gecko OS metby Molzo - Homebrew General
Heres a guide to brawl hacking But I didn't know there were also Mario Kart hacks! Gotta have them too! Link Removed--Administratorby Molzo - Homebrew General

QuoteJE78Thanks, one last question. Once I install the HBC, DVDX and bootmii boot2 do I need to have the SD card in the Wii each time I turn it on? And are 4.2 versions still acceptable to bricking even after Bannerbomb V2? You don't HAVE to insert it when you turn on the Wii to use HBC apps. You do need to insert it if you want BootMii to load. So just insert it before you start loading tby Molzo - Getting Started
QuoteJE78Is there a way to revert the Wii to its original state? Yes, it's very easy. Just run the HackMii installer again and uninstall the files.by Molzo - Getting Started
That's why I always save my game as snapshot. Nothing can go wrong there.by Molzo - Homebrew Applications
Yes, it works on all systems and the methods to install HBC are the same for any region.by Molzo - Getting Started
With crash I mean exception DSI or when your screen stays black after loading a homebrew app. But I don't always hear that sound. It appears to happen randomly. Is this a bad sign? Or is it just my crappy TV?by Molzo - FixMii
If you really don't want to update, use StartPatch and apply the 'skip update check' to your System Menu. That way you don't have to use Gecko every time you want to play your game.by Molzo - Getting Started
Try to hold the power button for 5 or 10 seconds, then try to turn it on again. And like SifJar said, check if your cable is properly connected.by Molzo - FixMii
QuoteWaxyPumpkin72You should use this situation as a lesson not to install things that aren't on wiibrew. :P That's exactly what other forums say about themselves :Dby Molzo - Getting Started
The sound came from the TV speakers. It's a very short sound, I hear it right before my power button turns red after a crash. I thought it was supposed to make that sound after crashes. Maybe its just my TV.by Molzo - FixMii
QuoteWaxyPumpkin72Was your SD card inserted? Yes, it was. I tried everything to turn on the Wii, but nothing happened until I held the power button for 5 seconds. And right before the power button turned red, I heard a crackling sound, the sound you hear when your Wii crashes and you hold the power button to turn it off. It makes me wonder if my Wii was still on, although the power button light wby Molzo - FixMii
Did you try to load Hackmii installer from the SD card menu?by Molzo - Getting Started
I just encountered another issue. When I tried to turn on the Wii, nothing happened. I used the power button and wiimote, but the power button light stayed yellow. I held the power button so it turned red. I tried to turn on the Wii again and everything works fine now. What happened? How do I prevent this? I couldn't even get to BootMii/boot2 and I don't want to brick my Wii!by Molzo - FixMii
The update is probably safe to run, so don't worry about it. And if it updates to 4.2, just use the latest versions of HackMii installer/Bannerbomb to reinstall everything. No harm should be done to your Wii and all homebrew should be working (except the apps using DVDX)by Molzo - Getting Started
QuoteArikadoQuotensDoodle99I've already updated to 4.2. So, updating now won't affect homebrew? For the 15 millionth time: NO!!! Well, it's kinda confusing with the 4.2 mega topic screaming 'DO NOT UPDATE!' a few topics below. And before you say it again, I got everything it figured out now :Dby Molzo - Homebrew General
Preloader is an app that loads itself before the system menu does (in the same way as Bootmii/boot2) so if you brick your Wii, you can still access Preloader. It also has other features, like modifying the system menu to move the Disc Channel and to skip disc updates, but i don't use Preloader since I have BootMii/boot2, so I can't help you with that. You can install both if you want, tby Molzo - Getting Started
Jez, you can see how you installed BootMii in the Hackmii installer. And if you can install it as boot2, don't hesitate to do so. If you can't install as boot2, the only brick protection you can use is preloader because you can't access Bootmii/IOS if you brick your Wii.by Molzo - Getting Started
It seems i have 300 blocks left on the internal memory, and i have a 1GB SD card with 4600 blocks left. Thats probably 500 MB, i guess... Should i move some files to SD? I don't know if 300 blocks internal mem is enough, especially if i'm gonna download that free NES game.by Molzo - FixMii
If you didnt install Bootmii as boot 2, you installed it as IOS (atleast if you installed it properly). If installed as IOS, go HBC and try to access BootMii. You should see a menu when you press 'Home' with 'return to sys menu'. If BootMii isnt there, try reinstalling Bootmii and then try again. If that doesnt work, uuuuhhhh...by Molzo - Getting Started
To answer the recap: 1) After you installed DVDX, use MPlayer CE to play DVDs 2) BootMii is primarily to make NAND backups. And if you brick your Wii, you can still access BootMii to restore your NAND. To make backup, run BootMii, go to the wheel thingy, then press A on GC controller. Then go to the icon with the green arrow and press A again. Do not pull out the power before you completed yourby Molzo - Getting Started
Thanks for the info. I thougt i killed my Gamecube support or something, but if you say i should not be worried, my Wii will be alright. Thanks again, Waxy!by Molzo - FixMii
Today, when i tried to play a Gamecube game, the screen turned black and a message said "The Wiis memory is damaged' It appeared every time i tried to load the game from the Disc Channel. Then i tried to play Metroid Prime Trilogy. I went to the main menu and then turned my Wii off. Then i tried my Gamecube game again and it worked and the message didnt appear and everything seems fine. Butby Molzo - FixMii
Go ahead and use StartPatch, it's (almost) completely safe and very useful. Just have a NAND backup ready if anything should go wrong. And you'll be fine as long as you dont update to 4.2. If you want the new HBC and be able to play DVDs, install everything except the new DVDX so the Title Ids wont change or wait for updates for MPlayer (tell me if im wrong about DVDX, thats what i did)by Molzo - Homebrew General
DVDX is still there, but is currently incompatible with MPlayer. Just wait for an update for MPlayer.by Molzo - Getting Started

Start with loading the HackMii installer, and you'll see uninstall the HBC, BootMii etc. I'm not sure how you 'really' get rid of everything else. Erase your SD card?by Molzo - Homebrew General
