QuotestathmkQuotenightwishfan1^^Try the 1.3 build of the engine if you arent using it already. I'm using that and the original spear of destiny works fine except to me the sound is a little bugged when pressing against walls for secret locations. I'm only interested in wolf 3d and the super upgrades mission pack cause it's something i never knew was out at market til i started loby nightwishfan1 - Homebrew Applications
Quoteratixwith 1.1 out now the 640x480 problem is fixed. now any game that uses that high of a res is now playable which also means windows 95 is useable now ^^^How well does it run? I assume you tested it to be able to say it's useable.by nightwishfan1 - Homebrew Applications
I thought FCE Ultra GX already did that? I mean I remember playing a shooting game on it and hitting Y which released 3 shots in succession. I could be wrong, but I'm fairly certain turbo is either mapped to either the Y or X buttons on it. I'll go and give it a quick try and report back. Seems Turbo firing is mapped to Y. Not sure if additional Turbo modes are useable with it, bby nightwishfan1 - Ideas, requests
After not finding suitable port candidates I stopped looking around a bit. Apparantly mobile platform based emulators are either very hard to find, or not talked much about from what I could tell based off of google search results. However it seems going the google search route was entirely wrong. As I found out while I was gone from the zelda mobile project homepage I linked to in an earlierby nightwishfan1 - Ideas, requests
^^^Agreed. The Wii doesnt need a secondary device giving it signals it already can pick up and execute on it's own. If this was for more development purposes then I can see it possibly having a use...However....You'd need a IR sensing device to hook up to your pc to even get the signals from a Wiimote, and I dont know for certain if there is one or not. Remember the Wii uses the IR sby nightwishfan1 - Ideas, requests
You may want to keep track of the thread in the following link . Seems a little bit of advice has been offered on how to cut down porting time, as a poster has mentioned a Euphoria language conversion program to convert the apps programming to C. I'm not sure how far that thread will go with advice, and what not, but if you keep track of it you may catch onto something to make the processby nightwishfan1 - Ideas, requests
This post on tehskeen has the newest compiled GC build from some time ago, as well as source code. This is on my first post as well.by nightwishfan1 - Ideas, requests
^^^Wait....You guys didnt read? I already stated I dont want to mess with the gamecube homebrew launcher. Possibly bricking my Wii with something that has a warning on it's wiibrew page is something I dont intend to do now, or in the forseeable future. Besides a good handful of the emulators we have were GC emulators that got ports.....So I dont quite get both of your points. Enlighten mby nightwishfan1 - Ideas, requests
So....I assume there's no interest in getting this emulator over from gamecube? Something I find odd since the Neo Geo CD supported a good bit of the arcade games that were too much for the Neo Geo home console to handle, and then some.by nightwishfan1 - Ideas, requests
^^^Some emulators require you to adjust a .cfg file yourself to make them work properly. For example Tantrics Dos-Box Wii has on it's Wiibrew page that you may have to use the PC version of Dos-Box to find the optimum settings to run specific games, and edit the .cfg file for it to be able to play it on Wii. Anyways what I'm getting at with this is that possibly an emulator author couby nightwishfan1 - Ideas, requests
Sounds good man. I'd be more than willing to test when that time comes. And I think you mean them? Zdoom and GZdoom are two separate engines. GZdoom itself is a source port of Zdoom. In essence both shouldnt be too hard given how very similar they are when one or the other is ported first.by nightwishfan1 - Ideas, requests
Xbox and Wii are completely different on a hardware level yes. Think of it this way....Xbox is basically a pc packed into a small box, where Wii is comparative to a machine running OSX. The Xbox being basically a mini pc of sorts can get multiple emulators built for pcs on it fairly easily without really having to do much to them in terms of optimizations. This also unfortunately allows the beby nightwishfan1 - Offtopic
Ok I have a couple questions about the GC Homebrew Launcher, and hopefully someone will be able to answer and help. Anyways I been looking at some GC homebrew that hasnt had any proper ports to Wii yet, and I figured if no one will port them, then I'll find other ways of running them. In comes to play GC Homebrew Launcher. I read the page here on wiibrew for it and it notes the followingby nightwishfan1 - The Junkyard
Quoteratixi wish this program was fined tuned more often then the rest of the emulators. I'd have to agree with this. All the inputs any given DOS game uses can be tied to a controller, and I dont see classic or GC controller support anywhere except for messing with a file within the emulator manually. More support for more controller options would round it out nicely, cause for me keyboby nightwishfan1 - Homebrew Applications
^^^Yes this indeed would be cool. I thought about using the DOS version of Zdoom via Dosbox for Wii, but quickly realized that the DOS version hasnt been updated in ages. So I figured why not request a full blown port of the most current version you know? I believe (not sure really) both Z and GZ Doom are open source so they have something going for them in those regards. The only thing I canby nightwishfan1 - Ideas, requests
I'm making this request for a Z/GZdoom port (two separate engines just everyone knows), cause they are simply two of the best enhanced Doom engine source ports out there. I say this for good reason, cause they both can handle custom maps not only for their respective ports for which a given map is built around, but they can also use custom maps built for some other enhanced Doom engine sourby nightwishfan1 - Ideas, requests
I'd be in full support of this if it werent for the fact that in their SVN thread the coder states it isnt quite optimised for speed, and compatibility. Dont get me wrong here when I say that, cause it's a great emulator, but porting it over at present would seem like a huge headache for whomever that does it. I say this, cause the emulator just isnt optimised to handle w/e end usersby nightwishfan1 - Ideas, requests
Ok I found something that could be ported. It isnt stated if it's open source or not, but if the code is simple enough than probably it could be ported.. A free software as well. It just seems we may need a account to the site to download. There's also this thread from another forum listing several emulators for mobile games. Couple of those from what I'm reading supby nightwishfan1 - Ideas, requests
^^I was only referencing the confusion similar names can cause. You named your port Genesis plus! or w/e for wii. Then to add confusion people are looking at which pc emulator is your base port lol. Anyways it's all good.by nightwishfan1 - Ideas, requests
Well I was thinking more along the lines of Gens32. Emulator Zone lists three emulators with Gens in the name. Gens Plus!, Gens (I believe this is Eke-ekes port), and the aformentioned Gens32. So it's fairly easy to get one or the other mixed up.by nightwishfan1 - Ideas, requests
There's two very similarly named emulators in which one does support the 32x along with sega cd i believe, and the other doesnt. Eke-ekes emulator port is of the one that doesnt have the additional systems support.by nightwishfan1 - Ideas, requests
^^^Lol yes I know. Which sucks that I have no idea how to code things up. Probably the only time I ever coded something was for a small programming class in high school, and it was BASIC I learned a little of. Had to make a rocket take off on your screen. I thought it would be something I'd get into, cause I like using computers, and I figured why not try it you know? Turned out I wasntby nightwishfan1 - Ideas, requests
It would be cool if Tantric could do something for it. Linux is something I dont understand and is frankly an out of the way option just to get a few things to play on the Wii. To me it's just entirely too much setting up, which I barely understand the point of sometimes. A direct Wii port is the easier option. Three steps and you're playing. 1. Setup file directories....2. Copy nby nightwishfan1 - Ideas, requests
I made this request, cause I'm not the biggest fan of using linux on Wii. Things seem too complicated or you need to have some sort of connection to the internet in most cases. You need to partition your storage devices. For me it's a bit much, as I got no coding skills whatsoever. I mean I dont mind messing with my PCs command prompt for basic things every now and then, but when itby nightwishfan1 - Ideas, requests
^^^It's entirely possible. Though I think needing a Wii keyboard is a little overkill to customize around 10 different controls is just unnecessary. A menu within the emulator could easily be implemented to re-assign and customize controls, and could be done through either a GC controller or Wii-mote. The control idea is a bit out there as it sounds like you think you can assign two diby nightwishfan1 - Ideas, requests

^^^Lol. Dude seriously stop being lazy and search like everyone says. If you did you'd find it readily available a hundred or so times over. If you get what I'm implying then you know what you need to do. Lol.by nightwishfan1 - The Junkyard
One problem I see with MicroEmulator is that going by the page you provided, is that it's fairly unclear whether or not it's open source. Lot of the applications that have been ported to Wii consist mostly of open source applications. The only other thing that doesnt sound good is the fact that this has a requirement field for a java platform base for it to even run, which would meanby nightwishfan1 - Ideas, requests
To me this would be handy as well. There are tons of decent freeware cell phone games available for download, and from what I've tried of a few of them some aint half bad really. Maybe a little outdated, but still good. Not to mention some people are actually making their own games for mobile platforms. One that I know of for example would be the legend of zelda mobile, which is basicallby nightwishfan1 - Ideas, requests
^^^Exactly. Even as .jad files as well since Mobile phone games use those to run also. Though I also know there are emulators that do various things. Nokia for example had a free one which allowed you to download it to your pc from their site, then you could choose i guess a sort of trial version of the program to try on that before you purchased it on your phone. It could let you do games asby nightwishfan1 - Ideas, requests
