QuoteiscreenThanks! Formatter is really a good tool! I can boot HBC , and use WM to install wad files. So I need not to use formatter. >as the NAND may actually be fried Should I replace nand flash? I can get a good one, but how to be sure that bad nand flash make it be bricked now? Just try to install the WADs from NUSD, but my personal suggestion would be to do the following, whenby cactusjack901 - FixMii
QuoteMestizoUse Bannerbomb v2 (it works for the other Wii firmwares). If you wait until after you update, you may need to use DOP-IOS to install HBC. I updated to 4.2 from 4.0 when I got my Wii and installed HBC with no problems, same day I got it. Updated from 4.2 to 4.0? That'd be a downgrade, and downgrade = bad idea with the Wiiby cactusjack901 - Getting Started
hrm, interesting method on trying to solve the problem. It still may not work, as the NAND may actually be fried, that being said, you may have some luck with Comex's NAND Formatter thoughby cactusjack901 - FixMii
What you read was just for compiling from source. It's more or less the same program, just updated for newer System Menu versionsby cactusjack901 - Getting Started
So, I decide to play some Bit.Trip Runner today, and turn on my Wii, only to find that my Wii keeps spitting out a "System Files Are Corrupted" error. I've tried re-installing the system menu, tried re-installing IOS70 (I'm on 4.2), still getting the error. Tried removing all channels I had made that could've potentially had a bad banner. Still nothing, I'm backing up my NAby cactusjack901 - FixMii

QuoteSifJarMy advice to the OP is try to get rid of it if possible. Not as easy as it sounds. Just for the sake of learning about this situation, so I can help people better, I installed it the other day, and forgot to make a NAND backup. So I figured "no biggie, I'll just use their uninstaller" well, I know for sure my system menu IOS is still modified, I'm about to run Dop-Mii rigby cactusjack901 - BootMii Beta
OH WOW, I WAS RIGHT! (sorry for the double post, but my original post isn't here so if a mod could help I'd be grateful) You can't distribute WADs here, no matter what the nature is. for something like this, it has to be gained via NUSD EDIT: I would also like to note the illegal music in the RAR (in WMA no less D= )by cactusjack901 - FixMii
Hrm.... I'm downloading the link you put up just to check, but something tells me it's not supported hereby cactusjack901 - FixMii
just install it. As long as you don't have anything not-supported here, you'll be fine, and even then, I don't know. My brother was wondering the same thing, but I told him to just update, and he did fine, I'm actually watching him play now. I also installed Bootmii as boot2 for him, so there was a contingency plan in place anywayby cactusjack901 - Getting Started

QuotenintendudeQuotecactusjack901I also have one other question, why do you wanna delete the homebrew channel? I want to delete HBC simply because I'm done with (and tired of) it. I just don't want it anymore, it's not worth having it for me any longer. Also, O_O @ your post count! :P Yeah, I stick around here a good deal. QuoteSifJarQuotecactusjack901 No, no, no, no, no The dev HAS to have an SWF, as that is the raw, uncompiled version of the game, the so called "source code". The concept of a flash emulator makes no sense. How would you even go about compiling the swf into a dol? Something tells me you have no idea what you're talking about. Uh, no. the SWF is the compiled game. And to OP: Of coursby cactusjack901 - Ideas, requests
Quotemegamike360I see. Well, I suppose I have more experience in creating my own things, but recreating super mario bros. Plus adding characters would take so long you know? I'll look into what I can do. Does anyone know if there are any flash emus in development? If so it would be helpful to get what has been made so far. are they in a folder called apps in the root of your SD card?by cactusjack901 - Getting Started
Well, let's do a bit of reasoning and logic here. If you use DOSBox to install Windows 3.1, it would then have to write files to the SD card. If files are written to the SD card, that means they're there, which would then mean you have it installed on your SD card and don't have to install it every time.by cactusjack901 - Ideas, requests
No, probably some sort of theme issue, may have been on the WAD you used to install the system menu again. Just get a new one from NUS and install that. Unless the middle finger is on the homebrew channel, that happens when you use a WAD to install itby cactusjack901 - Getting Started
You need to select it every time you use it. I know, it bothers me too.by cactusjack901 - Getting Started
QuoteDranzerX13I sent my Wii to Nintendo and they repaired it free of charge. I'll be receiving it in the mail in 3-4 days from today. Nice, they fixed mine before they went all "OMG HOMEBREWZ!!1!!!1!1!!" and all they did was ask me if I was ok with them removing it (it was re-install the homebrew channel, or keep a broken SD card slot)by cactusjack901 - FixMii
Pretty much. Anything on the Homebrew Browser should be fineby cactusjack901 - Homebrew General
To elaborate on what SifJar said, cIOSCorp/DarkCorp works on the principal that to load a backup, you need a cIOS, so if every IOS is a cIOS, you can load backups through the system menu. Good in theory, and it could even be good in practice, however, there are some key flaws with it. First off: not every IOS needs the Trucha bug, whether it's a cIOS or not shouldn't matter, for Wanby cactusjack901 - BootMii Beta
1) You installed Bootmii as an ISO?! Quite an accomplishment, I'm impressed 2) Did you not see the big red text telling you cIOS and backup loaders aren't supported here? Or what about the checkbox you had to click when you posted the thread saying you wouldn't talk about them? Are you really that fucking Daft, now gtfo.by cactusjack901 - The Junkyard

QuoteElija2The author of SkiFree put up a free download on his site so it shouldn't be a problem. As for the other games, I'm not sure. Would love to play Chip's Challenge on my Wii though. *harder facepalm* He put a download for the GAME on his site, not the source code. Learn the difference, it'll help you some dayby cactusjack901 - Ideas, requests
try updating all versions of IOS to the latest. Usually this error is caused by every IOS having the trucha bug, which usually means you downgraded (why would you do that, no offense, but it's the source of a lot of problems), or you installed cIOScrap That being said, the 4.2 update removes bootmii as boot2, and Preloader moves the system menu, and inserts itself in it's place, soby cactusjack901 - The Junkyard
Quotejbc007Why would Nintendo be willing to help? They currently refuse to repair any wii that they find evidence of homebrew on; I see no reason why they would be willing to install Indiana PWNS on anyone's wii. Even if you somehow convinced Nintendo to help, it should not matter if IOS 16 is stubbed. They must have a replacement for their backup disc that works without the old IOS 16 soby cactusjack901 - FixMii
