If you're refering to Nintendo's U8 archives, my Banner Creator will allow you to read and write to them. I have done extensive tests, and it should work okay, although just be careful :-)by whodares - Homebrew General
I've added this library to my project, and this code int main(int argc, char **argv) { keyboardEvent kbData; // Snip while( !(WPAD_ButtonsHeld(WPAD_CHAN_0) & WPAD_BUTTON_HOME) ) { WPAD_ScanPads(); KEYBOARD_ScanKeyboards(); KEYBOARD_getEvent(&kbData); printf("%d was pressed\n", kbData.keysym.scancode); } // Snip return(0); } void startupApp() { // Snipby whodares - Coding

You could always try the random key approach, and hope you get lucky early on. heheby whodares - Software
I had also contemplated the distributed computing approach; although I think you'd still be talking several years to crack the key, by which time most people will probably be on Wii2 or whatever it will be called I suppose if we could add it in the background of the HBC ;-) so while you're browsing your apps as well as a full processor version. Get desktops involved too...by whodares - Software
QuotebushingPut more simply: The Wii doesn't have a keyring of public keys it can verify against. It has one key. Adding support for multiple keys is harder than removing the signature check. Fair enough. Was just an idea :-)by whodares - Software
QuoteArikadoQuotenewfthxs for confirming its 3.2 .. i just rented it, it's 3.1... did u miss the confirm part... do u not know what confirm means ?? I swear it updated me from 3.2 to 3.2 (dont you know better than to question a mod? ;) Whilst it might only have System Menu v3.1 on, it might have had an update to IOS, or one of the mundane channels (ie. That's not what I meant. Let me try and explain a different way. From what I remember of PGP, you create a keyset (Public and Private). You distribute the public key to your friends, and you receive their public keys. You add your friends' public keys into a "key pool" so you can easily encrypt stuff for them and validate their messages. Now I'm working on the assumption thaby whodares - Software
Would you also need one for each region? Or could you get away with copying all 3 Twilight hacks to the same SD card?by whodares - Offtopic
Don't know, I'm sure Team Twiizers and Teknecal (HBB) wouldn't have any objections, but you would really need to ask themby whodares - Offtopic
No, but I guess you'd need to get permission off the various owners before you created said packageby whodares - Offtopic
QuoteArikadoWhat we need is a .zip that has the twilight hack, the HBC, and the homebrew browser. Then we can just say, "Extract to the root of your card and you're good to go!" Wasn't this already provided with the application pack for the HBC?by whodares - Offtopic
To be honest, if you're struggling with this, I'm not sure homebrew is for you...by whodares - Getting Started
lol. yeah, it's shocking the amount of idiots posting questions which have been answered repeatedly. Not only in guides etc. but even other forum posts Almost seems daft building a search feature into a forum these days, very few use it!by whodares - Offtopic
Do you think we should sticky a "DUMMYS GUIDE TO INSTALLING HOMEBREW APPS"?by whodares - Getting Started
AFAIK The Zelda hack is the only way to play homebrew regardless of if you have a mod chip or not. (Edit: Well, actually, I guess not, since there was a HBC install disc about) But yes, they are either selling guides that you can find on this site, or they are selling the Twilight Hack, in which case Twiizers should really be informed. Some light reading on the subjectby whodares - Homebrew General
RTFM... You need an /apps/ folder in the root of your SD card. Then you need to copy homebrew applications in thereby whodares - Getting Started
A thought just occured to me. Please stop me if you see me go wrong. 1. The Wii has a private and public key 2. Nintendo have a private and public key 3. Nintendo signs content with their private key 4. The Wii validates signatures against Nintendo's public key This means that Nintendo's public key must be registered within the Wii. Would it not be possible to add a new "truby whodares - Software

QuoteShovAgeQuotewhodares Because we only have one set of keys. I thought that the common key was an RSA private one or somrthing like that. I re-red it : In fact, the extracted common key is an AES one. So It do not allow to sign any content. Yes, we have the Wii's private key, however for code to validate we need to sign our it. QuoteShovAgeWhy these keys don't allow to sign content ? Why do we have to fakesign homebrews if we have all the keys ? Because we only have one set of keys. My idea was a little simpler than that, but it would require some post-game operation from the user Init/Post-Game tool: You select a game title, and specify a "game number". A directory is created within the data directory with that number, and all files in the main data directory are copied into said directory.
