Or take away the video cable. Then they can switch it on, play with the remotes, but they can't see what they're doing :-)by whodares - Offtopic
What version of The Homebrew Channel do you have? Because all programs should now be in DOL format, not ELF.by whodares - Getting Started
Yes, I'm afraid the Wii Disc version of Twilight Princess is (currently) the only game there is a hack forby whodares - Homebrew General
Well, obviously everything you see in any products already out there are possible :-) Some people will no doubt have issues with what I am about to suggest, but they really need to look up what the acronym stands for... 1. Find a BASIC intepreter/compiler. Microsoft even provide Visual Basic.NET express for free: 2. Find a learning/reference book. Here's one for VB.NET 3. Staby whodares - Offtopic
Is that a question? and personally, I don't think I need to find anything (well, my sanity would be good to find)by whodares - Homebrew Applications
If you go to the Wiibrew Wiki -> Homebrew Applications -> Utilities -> GC Booter you'll find it there. Edit: It's also downloadable through the Homebrew Browser...by whodares - Homebrew Applications
QuoteTheManuelQuotewhodaresDon't you just launch the game from within GeckoOS to skip the update checks? As opposed to using the "rebooter" I'm not sure if it would work like that. Unfortunately I don't have a disc with an update that hasn't already been installed. But why wouldn't it work? Stick the disc in, goto GeckoOS and click Launch Disc Title (or whatever it'sby whodares - Homebrew General

The Gecko icon just indicates you have a USBGecko present. It doesn't actuallty have anything to do with GeckoOSby whodares - Homebrew General
@iofthestorm: QuotewhodaresAll it does is transmit inputs from one system down the wire to another system. So in other words, when you press left, it sends a player 1 left command to your friend's emulator, when he presses B, it sends a player 2 B to yours etc.by whodares - Homebrew Applications
Then what do you need the "backup" loader for? GeckoOS allows you to play region freeby whodares - The Junkyard
It's a tool to download a copy of an IOS off Nintendo's server, patch it, and install it under a different version.by whodares - The Junkyard
QuotebushingOne interesting thing we discovered was that some parts of the spec are optional -- you don't have to actually compress stuff with LZ77, and I believe you can actually leave out the IMD5 block entirely. I was wondering as much when I was writing the all the block classes and was on my list of things to test when I finished the authoring side.by whodares - Homebrew General
You won't lose much. Fakesigning will be blocked as well (this was done in v3.3)by whodares - The Junkyard
The Client SDK documents how to implement the Kaillera DLL into your own application. This DLL is Windows based and not portable as-is (unless you reverse engineered it)by whodares - Homebrew Applications
Yes, you can use your camera to copy files to SD cards. The "permanently damage" message only really affects applications like Starfall, which modify Wii system files. If you just stick to the stuff which you copy on the SD card after installing the Homebrew Channel, you should be fine.by whodares - Homebrew General
Well, both consoles are European model, so theoretically, yes. But don't take that as fact, as I've never tried an imported game. If you have the homebrew channel with GeckoOS, if it doesn't work from the System Menu, you should at least be able to load it through that.by whodares - Homebrew General
Do you think they'd really sell a game, advertising it as online play, if you weren't allowed to play it online?! What Arikado is saying is that Nintendo will only be able to ban you from their network services. If the game is written by somebody else and doesn't use Nintendo's servers or network service, you should still be able to play the game online even if Nintendo banby whodares - Homebrew General
Or replicate the system. All it does is transmit inputs from one system down the wire to another system. I don't think there's any validation or anything (I say that because I was playing Killer Instinct, that became out of sync)by whodares - Homebrew Applications
@DrLucky: Are you sure? I have the PAL Kart, I did the updates off the disc, and I'm still on v3.2Eby whodares - Homebrew General
That's good to know. Thanks. Shouldn't have any problems with my MD5 tho, it's written by Microsoft as part of the .NET framework :-)by whodares - Homebrew General
It shouldn't affect the homebrew channel. I have v3.2E and have played Mario Kart with whatever upgrades were on the disc, and I'm still up and running :-)by whodares - Homebrew General
Not really, I already covered this here - :-Dby whodares - Offtopic
You know, the way that the comparison for signitures goes to a null byte, so if you put the null byte second, it'll only check the hash to a single byte length, leaving you with 255 options. At least, that's how I understood the current fakesigning. Is that right?by whodares - Software
QuotetonaIt's most certainly not just a simply coded workaround--not something you could do by just picking the right libogc functions. Yeah, I realise that it would probably be the case. But I wasn't sure if it might have just been a data trick?by whodares - Software
The new way the HBC is installed, the unreleased exploit, is that technically another method of producing a fake signiture? or does it work a different way? I appreciate the details are currently not wanted to be made public, I have email and PM, and I understand if nobody wants to say anything at all. As I said in my last edit, I might not understand how it works anyway.by whodares - Software
QuotetonaArgon is just a modchip Quotetona Quote How about the shop channel? That's allowed to install content. I might try and disassemble that tonight. Erm? It just uses ES_Add* calls. You don't need permissions for those AFAIK. You just have to provide a valid ticket/TMD/content. lol, yeah, I think I'm losing the plot a bit :-) QuotetonaThere is code in libogc for using "ISby whodares - Software
Everywhere over this side of the pond only seems to only sell the Argon chips, but they sound like just mod chips, as opposed to reading/writing NAND (somebody please correct me if I'm wrong).
