QuoteArikadoI've been writing code since I was 9. I'm 15 now Now I feel old :(by daniel_c_w - The Junkyard
QuoteArikadobut I chuckle at the thought of what would be going through Nintendo's (and n00b gamer's) heads when all these new textures started appearing on wifi play. AFAIK they won't appear on your system. They only appear on systems which use the modified Brawl version.by daniel_c_w - Offtopic
There are reoprts of the shop channel being unable to be used in various forums. I guess christmas took it's toll.by daniel_c_w - Offtopic
Super Smash Brothers Brawl (PAL) did not update my Wii beyond 3.2E. So the update should be safe. (Or a new version is out)by daniel_c_w - Offtopic

QuoteArikadoQuotedaniel_c_wI guess (!) it uses the NWC somehow to atleast generate and check friendcodes. Not every online wii game uses friend codes. I'm pretty sure I've seen a couple third party ones that don't. CoD: World At War uses Friend Codesby daniel_c_w - Homebrew General
I do not want this thread to be closed. But after reading basic stuff about the format, it looks like one used and created by "pirates". I am corious, if anybody uses the format to sell or distribute comics, that's all.by daniel_c_w - Homebrew General
I guess (!) it uses the NWC somehow to atleast generate and check friendcodes. Maybe the game even refuses to be used online if it can't connect to the NWCby daniel_c_w - Homebrew General
yes, with any region changerby daniel_c_w - Homebrew Applications
I am 100% sure the game is avaiable in Australia :D It is the same idsc that is used in Europe, btw.by daniel_c_w - Feedback & Support

Quotemad69modderand when i try to install starfall i get the warning screen, and i try to push in B+2 and i get nothing it will not continue. That is a noob protection :D Read the text Starfall shows you very carefully!!!by daniel_c_w - Homebrew General
Quotewhodares@DrLucky: Are you sure? I have the PAL Kart, I did the updates off the disc, and I'm still on v3.2E I second this. Mario Kart (PAL) did not update my Wii beyond 3.2Eby daniel_c_w - Homebrew General
Afaik CoD5 uses Nintendo's WiFi Connection.by daniel_c_w - Homebrew General
It works. So far all (almost?) games are identical for Europe and Australia. There is alss no region encoding that could be used to lock out UK games from German Wiis. In most cases all European languages are on one disc. But on some games all languages would take up to much disc space. For example: Harry Potter (and other EA games). The disc you can buy in Germany will give you French, Gerby daniel_c_w - Homebrew General
Is your wii firmware on 3.2 or earlier? Then you could: -take you backup -decrypt it -remove the updates -set all region codes -trucha sign it -burn itby daniel_c_w - The Junkyard
realy? did you ever play Super Mario Galaxy on your Wii?by daniel_c_w - Homebrew General
The game has to be played once, not to be finished once. Just start the game once, otherwise savegames can not be transferedby daniel_c_w - Homebrew General
I know what C and VB are, I am just wondering, why you point it out. It could have looked like you were saying, that a specifc language is required and I was curious. And by the way: VB can be used for Wii development?by daniel_c_w - Homebrew General
VB? "some sort" of C? what are you refering to?by daniel_c_w - Homebrew General
delete the games and redownload them on the wiishopchannel. why do you want to install them through the WAD-installer anyway? If you only want to pirate some games, then don't bother to post here any more and look for help somewhere else, please. Homebrew is not for pirating. @whodares: calm down, please. QuoteDrLuckythere is ripping software for homebrew which, I beleive, works for GC discs too... And after I did that, how do I identify the executable?by daniel_c_w - Homebrew General
QuoteagoajFirst you might want to see if GCN games distinguish between the bongos and controllers. I They do. Donkey Kong Jungle Beat and Donkey Konga both can see a difference between bongos and a normal pad. But as far as I know Gamcube/Wii homebrew can't. That's the whole point of the practice: Get the ability to write code that can detect a bongo controller. Of course I aby daniel_c_w - Homebrew General
bump! nobody can help me?by daniel_c_w - Homebrew General
QuotewhodaresYou need the XML description file in the app folders too. Only boot.dol or (.elf) is needed in HBC beta 9. Did they change that with the updates?by daniel_c_w - Homebrew General
QuoteMarathon_003The photo channel, at least before it's update, could play .swf files from the root of the sd card. Realy? I did never hear about that. (It's kinda cool and unexpected, if you ask me)by daniel_c_w - Offtopic
DrLucky is propably right. On 3.3 you can't use Trucha signed discs, like the HBC ISO. Can you use the twilight hack, do you have a japanese Twilight Princess?by daniel_c_w - Homebrew General
In another thread about using the Kongabongos it was mentioned that we do not know how to distinguish between the bongos and a normal GC-Controller. Somebody said we should look at the code of a game and reverse engineer. So how do I: - get the executable from the disc? (I own the originals) - disassemble it on a Windows-running-machine? - find the code that handles the input? The lastby daniel_c_w - Homebrew General
